I was thinking to bring my laptop to change ressies if needed, to check weather and to download pics off of our camera. But if it is going to be a pain to have internet, it might not be even worth me lugging my laptop with me.
What have others done?

We are looking at staying at WL from may 16 - 25. Woods View is what we are going to chose. Can I request to stay in a room facing MK and tell them we would like an opportunity to maybe see the castle and some fireworks????? Do you think woods view would qualify for this or even be honored?????

This is our first trip to WL (and my first trip to Disney in 20 years!)

Can you see Wishes from the beach at the WL? If so, do they pipe in the music there like they do at the Poly beach?

We just returned from WL on 12/22/08 and had a wonderful time. I have tried both Flicker and Photobucket and have no idea why I am not able to upload photos. Anyway we had a good time and WL is beautiful, expecially at Christmas.

We ate at Artist Point and it was very good. We probably would not do it again unless staying at WL but it was good. We had breakfast at WCC and loved it. DS 9 had a great time there. The food court was good. A little small for the size of the resort but the option are good and we never waited to long.

I think we got upgraded. We paid for a standard view room, but our room had a great view of the pool. We were in room 2031.

We had Peggy from Peggy's Sweets and Things do a Christmas tree in our room which way exceeded our expectations. DS was really surprised when we returned to our room after dinner to find the room decorated, pixie dust, and the tree.

The boat to MK and Contemporary was great and we never waited long.

Bus service was also good, no really long waits. Most the time the bus was only half or less filled, we never stood on a bus.

The weather was great while we were there. DS enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the pool bar!

Mousekeeping was not as good as we have had at other resorts. Our shower curtain was molded. One day we did not get any extra conditioner or shampoo and we needed it, and one day we did not get the room vacuumed. We never had any towel animals, I know this is not a requirement but DS sure enjoys it when we do. I did leave a tip everyday-but just found it lacking in service compared to other resorts. I did report the mold on the shower curtain so it should be fine now. One day our room was not cleaned until around 4 pm. I know this can be expected. This happened to be on our down day where we stuck around the resort and chilled. So it was frusterating. I wanted the room cleaned, but would have like some down time to rest. I checked several time through out the day and it was finally cleaned about 4pm.

The resort grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Everyone we encountered was very polite.

While for my family this was not our favorite resort it was definitely nice and we are glad we tried it.

If you have any questions I will be glad to try and answer them.

We just returned the 20th. I agree about Artist Pointe, it was great because we stayed there, but wouldn't do it again. I thought the Roaring Forks was really small for a resort that size, but short waits and always a table available.
Mousekeeping was great, kept room well stocked and we had elaborate towel animals every day. I loved them, but it was just my husband and me, I thought they did them for all the rooms!!!
We were in room 1165, walked out to the pool, beach, pool bar and boats. It was a great location. I would definitely stay here again, a nice break from the parks.

I've never stayed WL. We've always loved it and thinking of it for our next trip.
We like extra space which is a nice advantage to the club level.
But are the junior suites necessary if we decide to stay club level?
I think I read they aren't are on the same floor as the lounge. Is it just as nice and easy with a regular room on the same floor as the lounge?

You definately will have more room in the JR Suite, but I think it would be more convenient to be in a regular CL room on the same floor as the lounge.

I was wondering if the Wilderness Lodge has a wifi connection in the main lobby?

I don't think so.

Hello again - I haven't been an active participant on this thread for about a 1 and 1/2 but kept my subcription going strong.

Today I booked the WL for a quick get a way in March. We were going to do CBR, but called WDW reservations and the WONDERFUL CM got us the WL for cheaper than what I found.

I have much reading to catch up on and I can't wait.....Welcome Home to Me

Ther trees are too high to see anything from the beach. If you get lucky and get an upper floor room, you may be able to see it from your balcony, but no piped in music.
You CAN see the EWP from the beach though. I'm not sure about the music though..I think I remember hearing it!

We were able to see "some" of the fireworks from the end of the boat dock on our trip a few weeks ago, but the trees really blocked the view.

Yes, you can hear the music from the EWP - loud and clear!

My question is about the tours offered at the WL. One is Wonders of the Lodge, I believe and another that I read about some place else is about the food at the Lodge? Maybe that last one doesn't exist anymore because now I can't find any information on it.

Anyway, do these tours cost money to guests? Do you need to reserve in advance?

I'm going by 2006 info but I'll tell you what I know!

DH and FIL took the wonders of the lodge tour in 06. I believe it was free and they just signed up for it in at the front desk. The tour was given by the famous Ranger Stan, who I believe is now either retired or partially retired. They enjoyed it! DH and FIL are both engineers and would have liked it if he went into more detail about the building but they thought it was neat.

Does the bunk bed rooms have more room to walk around? We will have an infant in a pack-n-play and need as much room as possible. Thanks, I swear I tried to find the info with the thread search and couldn't.

We stayed in a bunk bed room last year, and I think the answer is no.

Our bunk bed was placed about two or three feet away from the wall that separates the beds from the sinks, so it created a long narrow section that had the wall on one side and the bunk bed on the other. (I almost called it a corridor, but it was more of a dead end.) We found it was a great place to store the suitcases, but it doesn't add to the living space in the room. I would have preferred if the bunks were against the wall, which would have added more floor space in the center.

We just came back the 20th. You could absolutely see the fireworks from the beach, they were spectacular!!! We watched the ELP and the fireworks two nights in a row. No piped in music though!!!! Maybe the trees blocked some of the lower ones, but not that I noticed.

Thanks so much for the response. The placement of the bunk beds away from the wall doesn't make much sense; putting them against the wall would give more living space.

Hello Everyone...and Happy Holidays to you all...
It's vacation planning time and we have narrowed our choices to VWL or OKW...Can anyone give us the pros and cons of each and provide us with some pics of the views for villas...We have children under the age of 6 and wonder which place would be more suitable for them in terms of pools and activities (zero entry would be great)...Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Question for WL lovers - good for adults only also? Has anyone stayed at the CBR w/ the new pool complex, and also at WL, am looking for adult atmosphere of the lodge and pool comparisons, thanks!!!!

(FYI we've stayed at CBR POR BC and Poly - this trip will be CBR or WL)
