The Wilderness Lodge and Villas FAQ (Part 7) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

The bus stops were back to the original location on Friday.

We were able to see the geyser erupt in Friday also.

On a whole, our stay at WLV was very enjoyable. The grounds at the WL are very nice. My kids enjoyed the pool. We were pleased with our meals at Whispering Canyon and Roaring Forks. It was so quiet at WLV. Once we were in our room, we never heard a sound.

My only complaint would be the distance from the self park lot to the WLV. I am not sure but some of the self park lost may have been used for valet due to the construction. There were 3 rows for self parking. I returned late one evening and had to park towards the back of the lot. Just for yucks, I counted how many steps it took me to get to my room. It was 806 steps. Based on a gait lenght of 24 inches (my feet were tired) that is over a 1/4 mile. My room was also the very last one in the building, 4563.

I would definately return to WL. If I am ever able to buy into DVC, WLV would be high on the list.
Thank you for your mini TR. That was a long walk to your room and hopefully it was just due to the construction and/or the bigger Easter/spring break crowds:confused3

Did you book a Bounceback?

To my fellow Lodgers:

HAPPY EASTER

Yeah! :yay: I'm glad that you had a great trip. I'm so glad the construction at the bus stops is done.

Thanks for your report!

Did you book a Bounceback?

No we did not book a bounceback. My oldest just started high school and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find time between his sports and marching band schedule. We were down there because his high school marching band played and he was torn because he was missing track.

:woohoo: Ahh, I'm at the 15 day countdown and I'm SO excited...I could just POP. :jumping1:

I bet you're excited - you'll be doing your wedding planning:hyper:. How did you make your avatar? It's so cute and I look forward to reading your journal soon.

Have a great trip, Danielle!

So you were offered a bounce back?

Is that the only part of construction?

I'll be there the end of May.

We are staying at WL for the very first time on our upcoming trip! :woohoo: We are arriving on Saturday, April 30th. My DH is a very big all-around sports fan and, evidently, there is some big UFC fight that night. :confused3 Is there any type of bar/lounge at WL that would be televising such an event? TIA! :thumbsup2

I'd try the ESPN club. It's a Pay per view event so I'm not sure that all lounges will broadcast it.

And it's not a big UFC fight...it's a HUGE UFC fight. I say that because if you went to a local sports bar you'd have to be there REALLY early to get a seat.

I'll be watching from home.:cheer2:

So far that is the only construction we have heard about. They just finished work on the bus stops, geyser, and hottubs. All of that is now done!!!! If anything else comes up this would be the place to check!

Thank you for that! We'll be staying at WL Villas for the first time (and first time at WL in general) and it is the first time I have EVER rented a car (because we are going to vacation around Orlando before Disney). I don't plan on using the car too much except to TL and DTD especially since you aren't the only one who has said this was one of the 'cons'. But all in all, sounds like you had a good trip!

Glad to hear this! I know construction has to happen but I am glad these things are fixed before we get there - next month :cool1:

I'm so excited that the construction is done! We leave in 12 days!

Yes there was a brochure in the room with a number to call while you were there.

Are bounceback offers only good for that resort? For example is the offer only good for the Wilderness Lodge, or can it be used at another resort? The reason I as is that we are going to the Wilderness Lodge at the end of September 2011 and were hoping for a bounceback offer for April of 2012, but were planning on staying at the Coronado Springs Resort.
Another question about bouceback offers, do they usually have a range of dates that the offer is good for? For example Jan. 2012 to March 2012 or something like that.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

thanks,

I have booked bounceback reservations at a different resort than the one where I was staying at the time I made the reservation. (Stayed at CR - booked bounceback at AKL - then changed the dates once we got home.)

The bounceback offers I have seen have been limited to specific date ranges.

Yes--so many good things to celebrate! :goodvibes
Thank you so much...I will be sure to update everyone on everything. ;)
And thanks, I just made my avatar in Photoshop...just added text and such.
