The Wilderness Lodge and Villas FAQ (Part 7) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Looking for clarification on something.

The description of a 2BRM villa states king in master and two queens in the other bedroom.

But, when I look at the floor plan on this thread it shows and queen and a double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

Can anyone clarify this for me. It would be a deal breaker for me if the second bedroom did not actually have two "real" beds. I would then get the deluxe room with a hopefully, connecting room.

Thanks!

We stayed in a 2BR villa last September (it was WONDERFUL!) that had a king in one bedroom, and 2 beds (either 2 queens or 2 doubles - pretty sure it was 2 Queens) in the other. there was also a pull out sofa in the living room area between the bedrooms. I had seen the same floor plans and was curious - I called Disney reservations to ask, and was told that there are two types of 2BR villas. The type we stayed in is a "dedicated 2br" meaning that it is a 2BR villa all the time. The other type available is a 2BR "lock off" meaning that it is basically a 1 BR villa and a studio combined - as the stdios have a bed and sofa, I am guessing this is what you saw in the floorplans.

Have a great trip!

You'll be checking out on the 21st

Really looking forward to some Pixie Dust and Magic this trip :)
DS can't wait to check out the pool and arcade. I'm gonna make him rub Humphrey's nose as soon as we get in the building! LOL

Diskids...just my two cents...we've been to WL several times and we've swam in the Villas pool. When we go in the fall the Villas were slightly less $$, so we considered, but ultimately decided a big 'no way.' You miss all the excitement and magic of the main resort and the overall feel of it. IMHO, the Villas feel like a boring apartment complex that could be anywhere. The main lodge has an amazing energy and ambiance, we just love it. So, my vote is for a deluxe room/courtyard view in the resort. Enjoy. :)

I have 40 days left and I'm getting SO excited for my first trip here!!!

Oh my...we are booked in a 1BDR villa... don't make me second guess myself - again! :rotfl: Seriously though, someone please make it sound better because yuck - an apartment complex???

Ok, some silly questions because I've never stayed at WL or in a villa -

Can we use the main pool at WL even though we are staying at VWL? I'm PRETTY SURE we can, but just want to make absolutely sure!

I've heard the parking lot is 'really far' from the villas but at Disney, you have to walk everywhere so can you compare the walking distance from the villas to the parking lot to something at Disney? Is it farther or less distance than the GCH to TTC at the Poly? Or getting off the bus at MK to actually entering the turnstiles? I'm just trying to figure out the 'really far' part :)

I've read there is stuff at the villas like pans, plates, even towels. I'm a clean person by nature but is it expected that I launder the kitchen towels or dry the pans off and put them back?

I'm not staying on DVC points so is it true I will get housekeeping everyday? Is there anything additional you get being in the villas or is it just making your beds and taking out the trash (so any kitchen cleaning they do?)

Thanks!

You can use the main pool at WL, we've stayed at WL a number of times and I don't consider the parking lot to be far from the WLV or the WL, depending on where you park I would say the furthest would be like going from the bus stop at MK to the bag check

We are booked for a 1BR, too. I just can't seem to make the plunge to do a deluxe room. I don't understand why a deluxe room is SO much more than a 1BR villa, it really doesn't make sense to me, maybe because it is Club Level. I wish we could be in the main building, but I think that we'll survive being in the villas. Unless, of course, they come out with a pin.

I was also toying with the deluxe room option but I like the idea of the villa (laundry, full kitchen area, etc) and I don't think we would get the value out of a concierge room since I won't let anyone make any plans for me

I did use the room only discount that was offered (40% off). I can't believe that it was $8 more for a whole week at a 1 BDR villa at WL than a garden view room at the Poly!!! I love the Poly but geez...that's a lot of extra space for the same price - and still onsite!

I can't wait to go!!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say I am back home. I had a wonderful trip to both Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge. We got room #5075 which is a Bear face room. The view was AWESOME. It was so nice to be close to the main elevators.

I would definitely love to have one again!

CSR was nice, though I did not realize how much I missed the balcony til I was at WL for the last two days. :rotfl:

In all it was a great trip. I wish I had more time to go into details, but school, work and baby call.

:-)

Brian- glad you enjoyed your stay in the World! A Bear face room- that is cool! Lucky:)

I'm really really looking forward to my stay the WL. It will be nice to getaway for a few days! My kid is all excited about the arcade, the pool, the boat ride to MK. He tells me "its like I haven't been to Disney before". I guess that's his way of saying he hasn't stayed on-site before. Me either, little guy! LOL

I just moved on over to this thread cause we booked a woods view room for our stay in July for 8 nights. The information on the first page is crazy! I can't believe the work put into it! Amazing!

We have always wanted to stay at the WL. For some reason we always ended up somewhere else but eat at Artist Point each trip. We always would say. . . "why didn't we stay here. Next time."

Well we stuck to it this time!

We also booked up for TG week in Nov while we were at it! 8 night then too.

We really can't wait. I'm going to read over this tread the next few days to learn some stuff!

Thanks so much for all the hard work on this thread! So glad we didn't stray to a diff resort for this trip like past ones!

:woohoo: Only 5 more weeks until our stay:woohoo:
Oh but why do those next 5 weeks be so loooooong - while the 6th week will fly.

Glad to hear so much positive stuff about the WL. We originally booked our annual trip at the AKL. I was concerned about being so far away from the MK so I made the switch. Now I just have to wait until Nov to get there:snooty:
