Hey!!! Oh my gosh! We had so much fun! It was so nice you meet you and your wife and Debbie S and her son! It was funny talking about the DIS and the threads too!! LMAO!!! Until next time.:)

It sure was a lot of fun. We even had a cm come up to us and laughed about our conversations and said how true they were. :rotfl2:

I also see you moved over the the YC; we stayed there last January and it is a very nice resort indeed. :thumbsup2

Hi! LOL! You are sooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hilarious! Oh man! We had to move from WL. If the WL made their accomodations more crisp and clean, i.e. solid color (hunter green) with matching skirt, and kept the rooms with working remotes, working light bulbs this place would be great. The room was just icky to me. But...the resort is beautiful as stated above.

I saw your wife in the gift shop and told her we should really try to get a HUGE DIS MEET together again! Seriously, it was so much fun!!! Just talking with people with the same likes (WALT DISNEY WORLD)!!! LOL!:thumbsup2

It would have been neat to meet you, but it is understandable with your change of plans. It was nice to meet Brunette8706 and her DH, and Deb o s (sorry Deb, can't get my keyboard to type your screen name correctly) and her DS. We talked about WDW, the history of the DIS, and a whole lot of conversation about threads and topics that get heated real quick, none of which I'll mention because it would only....... well um........ get heated in here real quick. :rotfl2:

Well, I've been home a whopping 2 hours and I'm already on the DIS and about to check out your trip report CamsmomE. :thumbsup2

Hey Goofy!

It was good meeting you as well!! I don't post much, I usually leave that up to Brunette (DW). I like your signature though, as a Packer's Fan, I gotta say LeBron makes me think an aweful lot about Brett Favre!

We enjoyed meeting your family, your DD is wonderful as was her friend! It would be nice to get together again sometime....
Best regards,

Pirate Jeff.

Please don't kill me Wilderness Lodge fans! LOL! Here is a quick run down of my trip report of the Lodge.

***

Hey All!

I just logged on I'm currently at the Yacht Club after after LEAVING the WILDERNESS LODGE out of DISAPPOINT!

Yes, some of Disney is in decline, but some there are improving.

Here is a quick trip report so far:

WILDERNESS LODGE

Pro's
Gorgeous Resort
Gorgeous Landscaping
Gorgeous Architecture
Beautiful Interior
Nice Pool
Great Theme
Great Location
Exterior upkeep (does have scaffolding though)
Very authentic
Very serene
Artist Point looked very nice (did not eat there)

CONs

Rooms/accomodations are horrendous
- vanity bulbs out
- chest drawers kept coming open
-head board chipping
-bedding dirty
-bed skirt (faded, worn, and frankly gross!!)
-Room had a very TIRED LOOK TO IT.
-Room needs to be updated BAD.
-Mousekeeping is less then PAR
- Room was finally made at 4 p.m.
-Ketchup on small table on deck
-paper wrappings on floor near bed
-Flat Screen TV -- Remote did not work
-Roaring Forks --Tight on food offerings
-Roaring Forks- Very Expensive on Sandwiches/Salads $9-$10 for an "okay" entree

Now, please don't flame, me. I'm just giving you an honest opinion on my first experience at the WL. We will not return. This was our first night. On the second day, I asked my husband if he wanted to move to another hotel. He said yes. So with that we stayed at the Yacht Club. We did this not knowing what to expect! All I can say is:

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is spectacular, gorgeous, awesome and just GREAT! We will be returning here no questions asked! LOL!

PROs

-Beautiful Surroundings
-Beautiful stunning lobby with a Yacht theme (ships, nautical)
-POOL- OH MAN! WOW FACTOR-
-POOL - They also check your key before entering pool
-Sandy bottom pool, slides, very large, gorgeous and relaxing!
-Accomodations- STUNNING, GORGEOUS, Large balcony (12 feet x 5 feet) just guessing on that though.
-Bedding - white, crisp, clean, beautiful. Blue Bed Skirt, very upsale
-White french doors leading to large balcony as stated above
-Lobby, very nautical, ships, stunning
- Interior - very clean, new paint, carpet upscale

CONs

- Bartender at bar closest to lobby VERY RUDE
-Marketplace - where you get fast food about a 10 minute walk. It's located at the Beach Club
-CM at Market place wasn't very friendly.

We're having a GREAT TIME! We're checking out on the 14th. Just finished viewing EPCOT fireworks from balcony. I can't say enough good things about this place.

If anyone has any questions/comments/suggestions let me know. I'm still at the world so I'll be happy to answer them.

Thanks ALL!
Brunette

Sorry you didn't like it! I hope we get a better room ;) Did they give you any trouble switching resorts? Have a great trip!

We stayed at the WL for the first time in May and had such a great experience we are returning in 2 weeks with my parents and staying CL thanks to Grandpa's credit card :cool1:

Do all of the CL rooms face the courtyard? It was hard to tell from the map if the CL rooms end at the courtyard or go all the way to the pool view. And do some just look over the lobby and have no courtyard view? I am so confused :confused3

Aw, I don't know, it wasn't all that bad! I do however, recommend a pool view or a court yard view. The woods view was really, sub-par in my opinion! For me, I loved the resort and the room was o.k. For me, I'd go back; for DW (Brunette) not likely! Then again, give me a sleeping bag, a campfire and a clear lake I'd be happy!

As for switching resorts...., it was a breeze. Seems Disney still has a concern about making guests happy. We moved to the Yacht Club and the staff on the phone and at the YC were more than decent. In fact, they were downright magical!! LOL! Actually, they really were.

If you like the theme of WL, I'm sure you'll be happy (at least with the view I suggested) with your stay.

Have a good one,

Pirate Jeff.

No, there are CL rooms that have a woods view looking towards the WLV. Our first time at WL we had a "woods view." We were fortunate and received a room with a great view of the courtyard, pool, and Bay Lake all in one for our trip last week. I have to admit though, one thing I do hate about CL is the balcony's are virtually enclosed, so you have to stand up and look out, you can't sit and enjoy the view.

It was nice meeting you as well. It was well worth paying for the oop Dole Whips (we were out of snack credits mid week buying bottled water due to Florida in August LOL), chatting, and just having a good ole time. I'd love to do it again. :thumbsup2

As for Brett Favre, gotta agree, his annual am I going to retire or not, look at me routine is getting real old. But for you Packer fans, Aaron Rodgers is sure making you forget about Favre. And here's hoping for another great year from Rodgers, I drafted him last year in the 6th round of my fantasy football team and this year he's one of my keepers. LOL

Hi- We are staying CL in less than 2 weeks:cool1: And, I was wondering if it is too much to ask when we get into our room for fresh blankets & bedspreads? Or is that starting our trip off on the wrong foot w/ the CMs & mousekeeping? Is anyone 100% certain that these are washed & changed between guests? Am I being paranoid? Thank You!

:rotfl2::lmao::goodvibes
Just kidding I'm not that disorganized. 12 hours from now we wil be getting up to head to the airport on the off chance Delta will let us go standby earlier and not charge us( our flight that we have seats on is oversold).

WL CL 1st night then standard for 9 night....woo hoo. Can't wait. All I have to do is pack.....yes that's right I'm a last minute packer....LOL.

Thanks to all the Lodgers for your help......

We're thinking about doing the same thing, for the same reason, and also because the Wilderness Lodge looks like it would be so lovely in December, when we're planning to go. I have a few questions I hope you can answer ...

For anyone who has been in early December (well before Christmas) how long does that Magic Kingdom ferry usually take? The big draw of the Polynesian is, of course, the monorail, and the idea that, with a younger one, we would be able to hop back and forth from the Magic Kingdom in just a few minutes.

...
Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide!

Remember that from Poly to the MK you have to stop at GF. Then on the return Poly is the 3rd stop. I have read reports of the MK bus to WL being something like 5 min or less. I would say that means there isn't much difference. Now we always use the boat for the atmosphere, and while it did take more like 10 min. I find the atmosphere on the boat as appealing as riding the monorail.
None of this considers waiting for your transportation vehicle, which can be a toss up with the buses. I think boats run every 20 min. Demand governs how often the monorail runs.

It was so nice meeting all of you over at the Poly. We had a really good time and hope we can meet with you all again. Here are some pics. I posted them over on the other thread but wanted to make sure you got to see them. Since we were all WLodgers even for a short stay;) I thought it would be ok to post here.
It's been one week almost to the minute since our Poly Meet and I'm just now getting to my pics.

I'm in near tears having missed you all! Every one of you looks exactly as I pictured you! I would have found you with no problems! Well.... maybe there will be a next year for us! :goodvibes If you've read my TR up throught this point (I know Goofy4prez has) you might forgive me. While I'm bummed that I miss you all, and REALLY bummed that Michele's first night was not as magical as she'd hoped, The make-up day for MK was wonderful Saturday and DEFINITELY made up for Tuesday's fiasco. P.S. I have a new ticker! (but the date isn't really set in stone yet)

Hands Down it was a good time:rotfl:

Great pics Deb, it was a blast spending time with everyone, I'd love to do it again sometime. Ohh and I did catch the "Hands Down" in the post. We had a great time with that word usage and the thread I started that burned a hole though my fire suit. :lmao:

I just booked us at WL January 6-11 for marathon weekend! I am so excited! We've never stayed at WL before, and I love all the photos and tips -- what a fantastic thread!

Maria :upsidedow

Now I wish January would hurry up and come! I stayed at Wilderness Lodge in 2006. Has there been any changes since then?
Elizabeth

Great pictures! We had the best time meeting
Hi everyone!!! We really should put another DIS MEET together somewhere! I'm always ready! You know funny, thing I thought the DIS meet would be a quick hi how are you, and stay for 30 minutes, WRONG! We stayed, I believe over 2 hours! Everyone was so nice and it was fun talking about the DIS threads!

Sorry some of you could not make it. I would have loved to meet some others here. Maybe at the next DIS MEET, huh? lol

Brunette

We're here now. We have a standard room (6060) and can see half of the castle from the balcony. If they would trim 1 tree, we would have 100% view. It is over the parking lot by the smokehouse. I have heard a few trucks backing up in the am, but it doesn't wake me up. We could watch all of Nightastic fireworks from our room. THe pool is a bit smaller than I would have thought, but it hasn't been overly crowded. WE are fans!
