Can anyone tell me how to request a specific room at WL? Our vacation is 1/22-1/29/11. Who do I call? What is the process? Thanks! :)

Updated List!

Thank U goofy4rprez for helping me connect with this thread!
Good to see so many ppl staying at WL.Would love to meet up.

We're at VWL Aug 4th - 10th

Sat. we have a Rose & Crown ADR for 7:45 (Illuminations:) so a meet at that time doesn't work for us. The 10th doesn't work for us either, ME will pick us up around 6pm for a flight at 9pm:(

At least I'll get to see you at the Poly meet:)

The idea of meeting would be fun. I know there is another meeting of DIS members planned at 2:00 PM at the Poly. We'll see how it works out for us, we have an ADR at Teppan Edo at 4:50 pm on the 7th. :confused3

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2501578

Perhaps if the 7th is the target date, cordinating with the other meeting and mid day may work out for more. Many of us take mid afternoon breaks from the parks and that time works great. Getting into the evening may make it difficult with dinner ADR's, and evening activities. Just an idea.

Hi Great idea!! See you at the Polynesian!

We have only stayed at WL once. I can get a courtyard view for our dates in September with the 40%. I'm thinking of switching for a few reasons.

Is a courtyard view basically the pool area? We had a standard view last time that we could see the MK threw the trees. when you looked down it was the service area. It was no big deal to us. But just wondering what to expect from a courtyard view?

Can you get a cot in a standard room? My DD will be close to 3 (if we can go when I want!;)) and she is very tall; she barely fits in a pack and play now. By January, I just know she won't fit and after she's 3, we'll have to stay in a resort that sleeps 5.

The only way I see that we can still get the lower price for a WL standard room is if we can get a cot, but I've never stayed there so I don't know if you can get one or if it will fit. Thanks.:goodvibes

Hello all! We are heading to the WLV in September for the first time...YEAH! I have seen a few references to the balconies on the 5th floor of the Villas being "enclosed" while the lower floors apparently are not? Can anyone explain how they are enclosed?

TIA!

Hi! If I want to bring my own coffee to brew, does anyone know the filter size for the in-room brewers? Or are there filters already in the room?

Thanks!

I don't know if we can make the meet, but it sounds like fun! We arrive on Saturday, the 7th. We'll be looking around for folks!!

Hi! If I want to bring my own coffee to brew, does anyone know the filter size for the in-room brewers? Or are there filters already in the room?

Thanks!

They are the smaller 4 cup flat bottom round filters. I don't remember if they refilled that everyday. I brought my own.

PS- I can bring extra, do you want to meet up so I can give them to you, or leave them for you at the desk?

They are actually cut into the roof so you have the metal roofing around you instead of metal pickets that have spacing between them. You can still see out if standing, but if seated in a chair you would not be able to see what is going on in the pool / below area, etc.

DisneyNutz is correct on the enclosed balconies however; I think it depends on what room you are in. We have stayed in room 5541 several times and had a regular balcony (meaning you can see out when sitting down):)

I want to go back to our second home. I really hope we can get a great deal next jan/feb. Then the DH can't say no, right? Plus it helps our 2 yr old is asking everyday to go back to see Cinderellas castle.

Bump, anyone?

Bump, anyone?

We were in a standard. There isn't too much room, maybe between the two beds. Maybe be able to by the hallway or in the sink area. I'm not sure who all is going with you, our oldest daugther slept in one bed w/ daddy and I slept in the other with our baby.

i have a room view/location question:

we booked a woods view room and were hoping to see anything we could of the MK, castle, fireworks or monorail from our balcony.
so far i've requested north side of the lodge, high floor. but i'm wondering which would be better: staying over the lobby, or in the north tower above the otter pond?

i've read that the lobby and WC can get pretty noisy, any opinions?
and any idea where we might get the best view?

thanks for your help!

I dont' remember our room number, I'd have to look. However, we were in a standard over service area but facing MK (you could see the top of the castle)/monorail, and yes, you could hear some muffled noise from the service trucks during the day. At night we sleep w/ a noise machine so didn't really notice much. THE BEST was at night not having to deal w/ all the crowds, we sat on our bed and watched the fireworks!!! We could see most of them, too bad the trees are as high as they are bec/ it would be an awesome view.

As far as the noise, I didn't think it was too bad. You have some noise from the check in and the restaurant but I could have fell asleep sitting by the bridge and water. I would always go down at night and sit there with my hot chocolate (feb was freezing). That was moms time.;) One thing I do wish is that the restaurant (I can't think of the name?) we could never get in. I really wish they would have a special section just for people staying at that hotel. We didn't make reservations bec/ we were never sure when we would be back.
