Ok .....have to ask....what did you have at Artist Point we will be there in august.......CL first night then woods view and DP......:cool1::cool1:

Personally, I first had the Buffalo stiploin, which melted like butter in your mouth! You could cut in with your fork! I'm not a "gamey" person, but I love buffalo now. ::yes:: At least, at the AP! And the polenta that came with this, Oh MY! Ahhhhhhh.........

Then, I had the halibut, oh, it flaked in chunks and had the most delicate flavor with a nice crust on top! If you love white fish you will love this. And it sat ontop a perfect duck raviloli. Wonderful. :goodvibes

Lastly, it was the pork chop, oh, you'll never have a chop like this! And the side was squash and mushroom ragout. yum!

I took some pics, but DH doesn't believe in food porn! LOL

Also, DHs scallops were better than his at the FFs and he loved his filet and salmon! Outstanding! :thumbsup2

Hi fellow WL fans. Quick question here. There was no Movies Under the Stars when last we stayed. Where can I find the list of movies and the time for the movies? Where are they shown and how? Is there a fire for Somores? We will be at the WL from 8/26 - 9/4. Do the hours change for the movies when the value season begins? I know that parades and fireworks are due to change back before we arrive. Thanks for your help:thumbsup2

The cookie hour is mainly for children. They get a sugar cookie, icing and sprinkles and get to decorate their cookie. My boys made me make sure to be there in time for the cookies a second time because the loved it so much the first time we were accidentally there for it.

But I'm sure if there is enough left over after the children are done, they would let adults do it too.

It was getting dark around 8pm, so I would guess that they might schedule for 1/2 hour after dark if that holds true. Wishes was at 9pm or 10pm each night when we were there. There seemed to be a pattern (beginning the sequence again after 2 weeks). I would imagine they will repeat a similar schedule each month. Perhaps someone can post again when June gets here.

Now, I finally got all my WL concierge lounge pics downloaded and chosen the ones to post.

I posted them all on the Club Level Lounge picture thread.

We will be returning soon! DH promised!:love:

I just wanted to THANK YOU for sharing your photos and insight on the WL CL!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes We will be there for our 1 year anniversary in 13 days:woohoo: I have always felt just how you do-that the WL CL layout fits right into the theming of the resort, even if it was an "afterthought" as many put it. We are very excited, and are sure we will not be disappointed! I've stayed at WL before, but not with DH, and I'm so excited to have him experience the Lodge fully. Thank you again!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:thumbsup2

For the Smores I would guess that you need to take the boat over to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds for the Chipmunks Campfire.

When we spent th enight at the Beach Club last year, they had a campfire on the beach area and sold marshmallows. I wonder if WL does the same?

We just returned from WL and had a great time. It is definitely one of my favourite resorts. I love the layout and the lobby and the pool.

thanks for this post too - it had so much great information to help us make an informed decision to stay there and to find our way around too.

Enjoy your trip to WL - safe travels!:goodvibes

My friend called today to say they arrived at 11:30am and their room was ready at WL.
She was so excited because I told her it might not be until after 3 or 4pm. (She is annal like me and wanted to put her things away, first.) This is their first Disney trip and they have 2 little girls.

It was so neat to hear straight from a room at the WL. They were on their way to EPCOT, today.

If she calls with any WL updates, I will post.

Hi! I am brand new to this discussion board, so not sure if I'm doing it right (advanced apologies). My DH and I are taking our daughter (she's 20 months old) for our very first family vacation to WDW August 2nd-7th, and staying at the WL (woodsview). My question (for anyone) is where would a "ground level" room be located (besides on the ground) :-) I requested this because my daughter hyperventilates in elevators, and now I'm wondering where that might place us. I also do not have a clue what to ask for when i call them to verify 1 week before arrival. Any thoughts? I am so excited!!!

When we stayed there last year we also requested a ground level room. Our kids are very little and we just didn't want to take the time on the elevators with the kids. We stayed in a woodsview room 1008 which was located down a hallway by Roaring Forks. That area was a perfect location for our family. It was right by Roaring Forks so getting food, snacks, drinks was fast and convenient. It was right by an outside door so we were only feet from the pool which was wonderful. We never had to cart our stuff very far to get to the pool. It was on the side with the boat launch so when we went out the doors by the pool it went to a path to the left that went right to the boats. If you are going to the MK by boat this is super convenient. It was also convenient when we went to the CR. The only drawback was that the room was farther from the buses, but you can't be close to both the buses and the boats so this was fine with us. I don't know if this helps you any but, we liked it. We never stepped foot in an elevator during our trip to WL. There is also a map on the first page of the thread which shows room locations and room numbers so that might help. If we weren't staying in the villas this time, we were going to request a room down this hallway again on the ground level.

The lobby is on level 2. To get to level 1 - you take a ramp from the lobby or enter at level 1 from the lake side. That is North wing where woods view rooms are.
There is also the South wing. I believe you have to take the elevator down to level 1 if you approach from the lobby to get to that part of the building. Those rooms are courtyard view mostly, so it probably isn't an issue for you.
I would have a special comment made about the elevator issue on your reservation just to be sure you are understood.

Thanks! Yes, actually, the CM's handling my reservation (I've made three resort changes) have been SO kind! It was actually her idea to put ground floor on the reservation, after I told her what happens with my daughter in elevators. My husband and I actually met while working in a hotel, so this kind of customer service is what we used to DREAM of for our employees... :thumbsup2

Are there lockers/changing rooms at the pool area? We're arriving late next Saturday morning, and figured we would spend the afternoon at the pool.

Thanks for the drink information.

Thanks for identifying Humphrey! I didn't want to look silly trying to find him, and since telling my kids about him from this thread, they are both looking forward to making some magic.

haha, I read this and had to laugh!! It would be ME to rub the nose of the wrong bear! :lmao: (thanks kmccartney for asking!):flower3:

There are lockers I believe at the pool bar or the marina. The bathrooms in the main lobby are quite large. If you want one with showers, that is at the Villas at Sturdy Branches health club.
