Welcome Back!! I totally noticed your absence from the boards and thought about what a fabulous time you were probably having. Can't wait to read the trip report and see photos!!!

I'm working on the trip report now. Check out the pics on the WL photo thread. :-)

We were just there and there were 3 pillows on each bed (each Queen bed). Two smaller squishy ones & a larger firmer pillow. Then, there were two firmer pillows in the closet already. I doubt you'll have a problem asking for extras and I hope that between the two types available, one works well for you! :goodvibes

We had 3 mushy pillows on the bed. Wish I had checked the closet to see if there were better ones there. :-(

Now I know for next time!!!!

Hi There,

This might sound like a weird question, but here goes. DW my twin eight year old DS's are spending 7 nights at the WL in April. We have booked a standard view room, and after looking at the map of the rooms we have chosen the north west facing side hopefully seeing a little of Wishes each night. From what I can understand, balconies below the sixth floor have rails which you can see through from the inside. I have seen pics of these. I have not seen a photo of the sixth floor balcony with its more solid rails. Can anyone post such a pic? I would like to see before we choose to make a request for a sixth or fifth floor room.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have pictures, but because of where those rooms are located they all have normal balconies. There is a 7th floor(club level) over them that has the enclosed balcony.

Hope that helps.

We have just decided that WL will be the location for our October trip this year. Can't wait to read all of the thread.

I am staying at the VWL for my first solo trip in May. I made the reservation kind of late for DVC, and chose WL over OKW and SSR because of location and the safety factor of a hotel.

Do you think WL is a good, safe location for solo travelers? Any suggestions for a first time visitor? I'm only doing 3 park days, with one full and two travel days to spend at the resort and/or DTD.

All opinions are appreciated!

Haven't stayed at the Villas, but there are fewer entrances and the resort is less open and spread out than OKW and SSR. I would imagine that makes it safer. The pool and other common areas are very busy, even in the evenings, so I would feel safe being alone there. You can see the maps on page 1, but all the hotel and most services are in 1 main building with all of the villas together in 1 attached building. The bus stop is right in between on a busy pathway.
Enjoy! I am wishing for a solo trip right now.

I'm torn..
we are booked in a standard view room - couldn't justify spending more on the others this time..
I am ...in a quandry about my tactics when we arrive in the end of August.
Do I go in to the hotel expecting that I will be in a standard view room..and not magically upgraded automatically.. OR do I see what they have available already at 11am when we should arrive in the HOPES of getting a better view?
or will i maybe move back down to a standard view from a room the put us in..
I'm not 'expecting' anything more than we paid for.. but :) everyone seems to always get some sort of upgrade and in 5 trips we haven't ever..
I dunno..it's late. i should go to sleep..

Because all the rooms are located in one building with minimal entrance/exits, I think you are safer than at OKW or SSR. BWV and BCV would give you the same comfort level.

I think you will have a fab time. Get yourself a tour book - I like the details in the PassPorter but the Unoffical Guide is good too - and make yourself a plan. Figure out what you want to do before you get there. I think that will make a world of difference. :thumbsup2

Happy Memories!

I advise that you go in thinking that you'll get the standard room. Ask for a 6th floor room in the north wing. :-) IF you don't get your hopes up you might get a pleasant surprise.

We had a 5 day standard package followed by 2 day room only (courtyard). I could not get the 2 days in standard. They upgraded us for the trip(My FIRST upgrade ever!). So anything is possible, but I definitely would not count on it.

I think you made a great choice! My DD and I stayed there (she was 2 at the time) and felt very safe...and the followng year I stayed there with both DD's (12 and 3 at the time) and felt very safe....
OKW and SSR are so spread out..I prefer having everything under one roof when its just myself and kids!
And at WL..there are so many things to do as well during your resort days!
Have a great trip!

We have just decided that WL will be the location for our October trip this year. Can't wait to read all of the thread.

We are booked for 10/21-31 woods view, Cannot wait!!! There is so much info on this thread...it sold me on the WL plus the wonderful comments everyone had.

Thank you for this great thread, we booked our first Disney vacation, counting down the days!! :yay: My DH "jokes" that he doesn't know who is more excited me, or our 4 year old:rotfl2:

We are staying for 6 nights, 7 days, at CL! I am a little stressed, not knowing what to request for a room, my DH booked our vacation with Disney on line. My parents and brother (in his 20's) are also coming, so we have 2 rooms booked. Do you have to request a king size bed? My DH is 6'6, so the more room the better.

I haven't received anything from the hotel yet for planning. We booked a week and 1/2 ago.

Thanks again, I know I will have so many questions and this is a great thread with great people:lovestruc

lfigment99 & Hockeybabe, I hope you both have a wonderful, MAGICAL, time:wizard: Enjoy!!
