Hello Fellow Texan:wave2: Hope you guys have a great time!21 days left for us

Thanks! We will be there through 6/5. We can't wait. The Wilderness Lodge is my little girls favorite place in the world. We always have to eat at the WCC every visit.

I dont know:confused3..I didnt request a certain area or anything but I hate being at the very end of the hall. walking so far to get to the room seems like a killer. I know I dont usually care about the view I just dont want to be too close to the noise but not so far that I hate the walk.:confused3

what did u think after seeing this site?

it looks like the short hall off of the sturdy branches rotund (or however you spell it) so I don't think the walk is too long....

I also thought about being up on the 6th floor off the roundy part (again, whatever you call it) but was worried that noise would be a factor since your door opens up into the atrium.

Does anyone know what the typical evening menu is at the Old Faithful Club? Just curious as to what types of appetizers they serve.

Totally not WL related, but I thought you would get a kick out of this:

Maybe someone here can answer a question for me (through my mom). My parents are taking my sister to WDW June 5th-12th for high school graduation and are staying at the Lodge (boo on them not inviting me!!).

They know about having stuff bought at WDW shipped home, BUT what they want to know is if you ship a package down (via UPS) can you ship that stuff back out of the resort at the gift shop or will they have to take it off site to get it done? I checked the shipping to a resort thread but didn't find the answer. Thanks!

Hi all - we are heading to the WL for the 1st time in September :cool1:

I believe there are refrigerators in the room (from what I have read). Does anyone have a picture or an approximate size? We plan on having some adult beverages delivered from a grocery service as well as some waters which I am hoping we can freeze before bringing to the parks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also - how bad are the "Love Bugs" at the WL in late Setember (9/24 to 10/1)? I am hoping to get in some pool time but I can't stand the thought of those creepy critters landing on me while I am trying to relax by the pool - that won't be relaxing for a self-declared bug hater like myself!

Thanks a ton - love these boards - don't know what I'll do with myself after my trip!!!

We are very excited for our very first trip to Disney! :cool1: We booked the WL bunk bed rooms for the end of October. And of course my kids want to know about the pool. Does anyone know if it is zero entry on one side, or if there are other kiddie pools or splash pads? Thanks!

Gina

I think you and I are going to be duking it out for the 1 BDR villas :rotfl: But seriously, it sounds like the villas are all fairly similar. I've heard to request something near the elevator so you don't have a long walk (especially if you have a car). And that the ones near the elevator have a somewhat different layout?? But I have never stayed in a villa or at WL so I don't know what to expect!

I've been in May and September when the love bugs hatch and never had a bad time with them. Occasionally, I see some bugs lovin' but it's not bad - really! It will be just fine! Remember, Disney actually has a insect control program on property. I don't think they could operate in a swamp without one!

The refrigerators are small, and NO FREEZER. The waters may freeze anyway, because the refrigerator I had was set to VERY COLD. I think everything you wrote about will fit into the refrigerator. I hope you have a great time. I just got back and it was hot, but wonderful.
As for the love-bugs, yes there were there, but didn't notice them except while my DH was driving.

I just returned from my 3 night stay at Wilderness Lodge and LOVED IT! :lovestruc I didn't want to leave! I'm pretty sure it's the only resort I would choose to ever revisit.

The magic started right away when our party was upgraded to club level :wizard: (they lost the reservations) so having the option to go upstairs and get snacks was very convenient.

We were in room 5157, a little ways away from the lobby elevators, but not too bad of a trek.

What Mousekeeping left one day--hilarious!:

We saw the geyser go off and the boat rides were enjoyable. (Everywhere we planned to go this trip was on the monorail line or at Fort Wilderness) so travel was easy. I also loved the fact that this resort is so quiet and peaceful. We hardly noticed any kids, so if you want a restful and relaxing trip, this is the spot.

I LOVE WILDERNESS LODGE!

I LOVE WILDERNESS LODGE!

Thank you for the review! It sounds like a lovely time and yeah for the pixie dust :wizard: I love what mousekeeping did to your bed!!!

What is the closest bathroom from the pool? Is there one behind the trout bar? Just asking because I have one of those kids who waits until the last moment possible to announce she has to go....

Thanks so much - good to know about the freezer - we will just have to buy water at the parks - makes for lighter travel anyway :thumbsup2

I'll take the heat over the bugs anyday!!!! So glad you had a wonderful trip!!

Maybe we should team up at check in time :-) Both get something good! I hear what you are saying about being near the elevators - but I usally like to be as far away from the elevators as possible because of the NOISE!!! But looking at the building layout it looks like the 1br near the elevators are a bit bigger...... who knows... at this point I am so overloaded with plans I am driving myself crazy!
