 Unfortunately, no WL rooms accommodate a cot - 4 is the room limit. Is one of your little ones under 3? If so, could one adult sleep on the bunk? Or WL does have deluxe rooms - cannot recall the sleeping arrangements, but someone else will know.:thumbsup2

Deluxe rooms have 2 queens in the bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. They are priced pretty high, but have club level access.

Day 2 at WLV. Bus stops are still at the temporary location. I thought I heard the geyser but the guy at the front desk told me it was still down. Hot tubs are working just fine though.

WLV is awesome. It is so quite. We are on the 4th floor at the end of the hallway and it is so peaceful. Or studio has a QS bed and a pullout sofa. The sofa is OK but I am glad the kids are sleeping there instead of me. :rotfl2:

I am definitely adding WL to my list of preferred resorts.

Gotta go. My 10 year old wants to go to the pool.

So glad you are having a great trip!

So glad you like the Villas!

Last stay we were on the 4th floor in a studio too - corner room with a balcony and side window - it was fabulous! We loved the walk over from the Lodge - so peaceful and pretty. We thought we'd feel kind of out of the action at the Villas, but not at all. The hallways are so much wider at the Villas, which we prefer.

Thanks so much for checking in - enjoy!!! :goodvibes

And, they are about 500 SF and have two sliding glass doors to the balconies and are not located on the 7th floor. Per square foot, they are the highest priced Deluxes at WDW. Not sure why though:confused3

Thank you guys for mentioning the villas. I was starting to worry we wouldn't like the area, but they sound great! And now we know which area to request (and hope for!)! ;)

Any word on when the bus stops are going to be done? DH and I are leaving May 7, staying one night in the Honeymoon Suite and then 7 days at VWL.

Thanks!

Sounds like a great trip! Bcuinohio is there right now and said yesterday that the bus stops were still under construction.

It was not a major inconvenience when we were there a few weeks ago.

Hope it is finished by the time you arrive!!! pixiedust:

Two more days!!!

I'm getting kind of nervous, but excited all at the same time. Ordered a fun birthday package for DS upon arrival. He's going to have so much fun!

Decided to do online check-in. DS wants to stop at Chic-Fil-A before we get to the resort, and with the timing and all, it would just be better for us. I'm so ready for our late dinner at Crystal Palace, though. I had a dream about it last night. LOL

I'll try to do 'live' updates while there, too. DS has his netbook and I have my iPhone...hopefully, I'll be 'tweeting' from the park, as well.

Thanks, Brian and Kook ~

Years ago we had one of the deluxe rooms, right on the end - terrific views of the lake, but the rooms were not nearly as expensive then as now - no CL included. Wonder why the price is so high. Not sure about GF, but some of the other deluxe resort rooms (YC/BC/BWI) also include CL, but are not on the CL floor. We were trying to book a BWI deluxe room last yr, but those are very heard to come by.

Anyway, thanks for helping with that info for the poster!:goodvibes

It's interesting that the Deluxe rooms did not have CL access at one time. The Deluxe room at both the GF and CSR also don't have CL access.

I tried to book a WL Deluxe room with the military 40% off rate, but it wasn't available. Then I tried to book a regular CL room and it too wasn't available. Today, I got excited when the summer AP rates were released, but of course, there is no WL CL available! So it looks like we'll been sticking with the YC/CL.

I'm sure this question has been asked but I will ask it again. Has anyone ever at a massage at the Health Club at WL? DH said I could book one for our upcoming trip, but want to know if anyone has used the service.

THANKS!

Seems like YC on any level is generally one of the easiest to book with the most limited discounts. Have you stayed YC/CL before? I'll be interested to hear about it....but a funny story - sort of - when we first started visiting WDW in '81 (kids were 7 & 8) we stayed at the Poly or CR - not much else to choose from anyway, which was fine by me. We would alternate - back then every guest had turn down service and choice of a daily newspaper, local or USA Today...I digress... Eventually YC/BC opens and we get around to trying BC in '98 (we did try CBR when it opened in '88). By then my kids are young adults...we all walk into the room and what's the first thing we say, in unison? Not, wow, how nice..nope..."Wow, the room is so small!". To this day those rooms feel small to me for a deluxe - another reason we prefer the VWL to the Lodge rooms - the few extra feet help - not much, but enough. Still miss the huge CR & Poly rooms - oh and GF rooms are spacious as well.

Sorry for the tangent. ;)

Go off on tangents more:hyper:. Oh, I just love to hear about the good ol' days of WDW. Newspapers? What did they think they were, a Holiday Inn?

For a regular room, we just love the CR rooms the most (435 SF). The style and size is great for us. And you're so right, you then go to the YC or BC (380 SF) or especially the WL (340 SF) and that loss of 95-55 SF seems huge. But the theming and atmosphere of the WL is so special:goodvibes

I originally had the Deluxe/BC room booked (yes, I'm an admitted resort changer:rolleyes1), but with all the exterior work going on there and the generally chaotic atmosphere in the lobby and lounge, I switched to the YC.

Funny you should ask about the YC. I did stay YC/CL in August, but truth be told, I missed the CR so much that after one night we moved to the CR/CL for 8 nights! This time I should be OK with the YC though since we're already staying 5 nights at the CR beforehand.

Did your kids have a favorite resort? Is there a resort amenity you especially miss?

You probably don't remember me, but I was one of the original resort changers - yep....but I let conscience get the best of me and bowed out of the thread very early one...I was actually the one who came up with "resort changers" ::yes:: true - it was going to be dubbed hotel changers, but I suggested being Disney, resort would be more appropriate. This was prior to the actual unofficial thread. Yep, been around the block a number of times...every resort for 30 years and more trips that I can keep track of now. Well, not every resort - unlike Karen, I've no desire to try an AS resort. The rest we've tried - oh, not YC yet, but every time I book it, I back out. :confused3 Blame Disney for a great code or AP rate that gets me back over to GF or Poly again. :teeth:

Back to WL...The theme of WL is incredible, but I cannot take the narrow hallways and small rooms - as you no doubt know (I like to quote room size too :thumbsup2 ) WL & AKL rooms are the same size as CBR rooms - but both feel smaller to me than CBR, probably due to the heavier furniture and darker color scheme.

Anyway.....now I've digressed so far, forgot what I meant to say!!! Aging ain't pretty... :rotfl:

(p.s. Way back when, Holiday Inn did not offer newspapers - think that was one of those ideas borrowed from the good 'ole days of outstanding Disney Guest Service ;) )

I was thinking of doing one night at the Honeymoon Suite too! We are leavin on the first... How did you make your reservation??? Is it worth the $$$$$$$????

See you both (WDWKOOK and Minnie&Nana) are rubbing off on me. Now I've got WL/CL for December and I'm thinking of changing to CR/CL for the second half of the trip. :woohoo: I don't know how many times I changed my last trip before doing the CSR/WL split.

I also broke down with the AP rate that came out today and booked a little weekend getaway for June 3-5 to WL. The little princess is staying her first weekend with Grandma. We so deserve the weekend away.:rotfl: This AP has definitely paid for itself!

Gotta change the ticker!! :cool1:

Welcome to our world, Brian!! :upsidedow

What fun - a weekend getaway!! And lucky Grandma - bet she can't wait!! My daughter has never been able to leave her princess - they have hardly gotten out for an evening in 2 1/2 yrs. I'd be happy to cover for a weekend, but this princess is just one of those who cannot be away from mama and is very high maintenance - funny, because they were so sure they would have a very laid back baby. Oops.

It was available so I booked it and got it at 30% off to boot!!! Keep in mind there are only 4 honeymoon suites in the hotel

The honeymoon rooms are about the same size as a normal room. There are two that have a view toward the MK. Make sure you request one of them. ;)

Brian.
