The Wilderness Lodge and Villas FAQ (Part 7) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

I got my DME tags today for my trip in a few weeks. I have to admit that the tags looked strange but I could not put my finger on why.

I just realized what it was. They had a different color mickey(green) on them for the AK area(CSR). It sunk in that I'm not staying at WL. :-(

Now I'm depressed...

Brian :sad2:

But it won't matter a hoot when your bundle of joy arrives!!:cloud9:

After 3 resort switches in a month (I couldn't take my mind off of WL) my final decision is WL for Christmas! I love staying somewhere new each trip!
DD17 is a resort snob and she still thinks we are staying moderate!

I apologize if this has been asked but are there microwaves in the rooms at WL? We are at the lodge this time, not the Villas.

Headed "home" again four months from today! :yay: Every trip we try sooo hard to stay at a new resort. I always change reservations multiple times and tell myself we will go through with it and try something new. In the end we always end up back at the Lodge. It's happened again folks! I have had AKL, CSR, and BC all booked for this trip and last night I finally gave up, called, and changed everything to WL. I know this may sound strange but I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders this morning, and I'm excited about this trip for the first time! :goodvibes When we think Disney we think WL and I can't imagine doing Disney without it. :cloud9:

Going back in 11 days, cant wait. Its been 3 yrs, I think, since we stayed at WLVs last. I've looked through this thread and dont think theres anything new that I should know about. Now if I can just remember what room to request. This is by far my favorite resort!!

We go in 16 days. When should I call and request a room and what rooms should I ask for to get a better view. I have a woods view room. Thanks

We are booked in woods view for May, too. I THINK I am going to request 5th floor, I'd love it I could get some amount of a fireworks view. What would I want to request for that?

Regarding courtyard view vs. Woods:

On busy days the courtyard view neerest to the pool can be a bit noisy

DW and I will be back "home" in 11 days :cool1: Of course she still thinks we're staying at POFQ!!!

I could not get over my depression of not staying at WL for my trip next month. So I added two days to the end and changed the return trip date(Southwest is awesome!!!). So now we are booked for two days at WL after my conference is over.:banana:

So in 22 days I'll be at Disney, but I'll be home at WL in 29!!! ;-)

Can't wait!!!

That's great! I know what you mean about going on a work trip. I went to the Dolphin last year for work and it was hard to be there and not go to one of the Disney resorts (but like you say, work is paying!). It is a nice way though to experience another resort and not have to worry if you are spending your money the right way. If I had paid for the Dolphin myself, I would have been mad but since it was work, I was just happy that they were paying ;)

We were in room 5034 and had a great view of the castle and fireworks :) Of course if you looked directly to the left you saw a service entrance, but the straight-ahead view was fabulous. The rest of the family had 5032 and could not see the castle due to the way the trees grew. We just lucked out.

Looks like we keep following each other around WDW!! We'll be at WL for three days in September before heading back to the Poly to finish out the month and a couple days in October.

To funny...I wish we were getting in a few days at the Poly, but not this trip. However, we will stop by and at least have a few cocktails. We will be back to the Poly in 2012. Sorry we will miss each other again this year!!!!

We booked last night for 5 days/4 nights at the WL with my DSIL's 40% PIN code!!!! Now to get over our short stay when we are used to staying 10 days usually! Breathe in breathe out....now for the planning the only thing I put on our request as of now is adjoining rooms. More then likely we will request a 1st floor room since DH and DSIL are smokers and will want the fast path to the DSA.

I have a standard view for Christmas. We probably won't be in the room much. We'll be at the parks or wandering around the resort eating! Staying at a deluxe with no discounts is pushing the budget limit so it has to be standard and I couldn't resist WL for the holidays. But just curious, how bad are standard views?

We are arriving at Wilderness Lodge this coming Thursday. I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can answer. Are they doing the movie under the stars at this time? I know that during our late Oct. trip many of the resorts weren't doing the movies, I was told that was because it was a seasonal thing. Also does anyone have a recent calender of events that you get at check in? I'd love to look over a recent copy. We last stayed at the lodge last June and I imagine the activities have changed since then. Thanks for any help.
