Okay, here’s the deal- I am not a great writer, so please be patient with me on my first attempt at a trip report. We have plans to go August 25-31, staying at POR with free dining. The intent is to be a surprise birthday trip for the whole family, but I had to tell DH about it of course!
The cast of members: Me- ::MinnieMo Momsie, 37 and feeling rather old, Disneyphile since birth, always wanted to be a princess, but has to be the “responsible one”
DH- :yoda: Gazoo, will be 37, however, prefers to act like he’s one of the kids
DD9- princess: DQ, typical 4th almost 5th grader, loves Lizzie Mcguire, Hannah Montana and the other Disney Channel tweenage stuff, insists on playing Radio Disney at top volume at very early hours in the morning- DD has ADHD, which makes for some testing circumstances. She is on medication, which has to be tweaked all the time. DQ is a very agile athlete, and is always in motion. Life is never boring with DQ around.
DS6- pooh: Cheeky, 1st grader almost 2nd, a very sweet boy almost the exact opposite of his rambunctious older sister (he’s more like mom, DQ is more like dad) Pretty easy going except when tired or hungry, and then the whining begins! Cheeky figures things out pretty fast and is good at making dry little jokes, which no one except mom seems to get. Overall, pretty easy to take almost anywhere!
DS5- :stitch: Destructo, soon to be in kindergarten! My wild baby is growing up! A very sweet boy with an adventurous and stubborn streak almost on par with Momsie’s!! I have the advantage of age and size, at least. Loves to do anything his older sibs are doing, and has the agility and competitive streak of his older sister, but without most of the behavioral issues, thank goodness. I think my two boys see what their parents go through with their sister, and hopefully have learned from it.

Overall, a great family, and I can’t wait for this trip to happen in three months and four days as my Disney Trip Planner states!!!! I have many things planned out, and some are going off the cuff- I will elaborate as we go along.

There are some other issues that are happening in our family that could throw all my precious planning into an uproar, and I will elaborate on those as we go along also.

Talk to you all soon!

I don't think 37 is old at all! Can't wait to hear more about your plans. And are your kids riding on a camel in that picture???

Why yes, yes they are! :goodvibes
37 isn't really that old, but I've been feeling that way lately.. Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Hello again! :sunny: Here is what I have planned so far- We are driving down from our home in southeastern Michigan (yes, we have done it before, with no problems! ) Plane tickets for 5 is a LOT:scared1: , and I like having the car, and we always did road trips when I was little, therefore, all the fond memories, etc. etc. (I am one of five myself pre-marriage). We will leave early Friday the 24th, stay somewhere in Georgia I am guessing (will make those ressies when I actually calculate our intended driving miles the first day) and arrive in Lake Buena Vista the 25th staying offsite Saturday Night, and checking in Early Sunday Morning into POR. We will do the same thing on the way back (stay offsite Friday night, drive back early Saturday am). The wild ones LOVE their DVD player, so I have a few new unseen Disney DVDs I am saving, as well as a couple beloved favorites. My kids are awesome car trippers! Living in the Motor City, we have made numerous road trips and had no problems! I am not at all worried about the drive. My kids also tend to eat more in the morning, and less as the day goes on, so, for the most part, we are doing bigger meals early and then using CS and snacks later.

So here are the plans:
Day 1 Sunday- MK EMH PM Crystal Palace 4:00 ADR
Day 2 Monday- AK EMH AM MGM EMH PM Le Cellier 2:45 ADR
Day 3 Tuesday- Water Parks Chef Mickey’s 11:00 ADR
Day 4 Wednesday- AK EMH PM Coral Reef 4:00 ADR
Day 5 Thursday- MK EMH AM Rose & Crown 8:00pm ADR
Day 6 Friday- Kona Café 11:00 ADR Epcot EMH PM

I have the EMHs listed, not that I am going to go to those parks on those days necessarily, unless someone can give me good reasons to. I am looking for CS suggestions, I have a few I know I WANT to eat at (Sunshine Seasons, Kringla Bakeri Og Café for the school bread), but I am more than open to ideas. I know it will be HOT, and wet almost every day for a period of time (I went in August many, many years ago) so we will be prepared for that. Seeing that I am trying to make this a surprise family birthday trip- I am not going to get any input from the kids until late, and DH doesn’t really care where we go, or what we do, as long as we go to the Rose & Crown Pub for his beloved half-yard!! Any ideas, folks? Thanks!!!

Looking for any and all Opinions please! Any opinion on the P & P party on the 28th? Do I really want to spend $200 for it?

I haven't been to one, so I don't know how much of a help I am. But after seeing everyone's pics and trip reports on them, I am dying to go. They look like sooooo much fun. There is a thread on the attractions board that has a lot of info and opinions, too; you may want to check it out.
