Monday 26th May
Spent the whole day at SAB today knowing how busy the parks were likely to be, we also had the DIS meet at 6pm tonight so looking forward to that. Also a little apprehensive as we've both been known to marry people we've met from the internet
LOL
We had lunch around the pool which we ordered from Hurricane Hannahs. It was a lovely relaxing day, sadly all rings were out for the day though so we didn't' manage to hire one of those this particular time.
The DIS meet went very well as I'm sure you'll know if you've read Kev's trip report. I won't bore you and repeat what he's said, and I can't compete with his style of writing either so I'll just say that we really enjoyed meeting everyone and they were all very friendly. I must also apologise to Kev for calling him Kevin all evening, I d idn't feel I knew him well enough to call him Kev! LOL
Luckily for us Zak was his usual angelic self, he ate his dinner in his buggy in the Belle Vue Lounge, then I got him ready for bed in the restrooms there and he dropped off in his buggy while the adults were chatting and the children were playing a great evening, although the jury's still out on 'that' shirt! LOL
Tuesday 27th May
Wandered over to the Broadwalk in the morning to get some breakfast from the bakery, Si and I both had savoury but Rad opted for a huge bit of chocolate cake ah, that's what holidays are all about huh?
We then strolled over to Epcot to ride Maelstrom & also to get some photos done of the children in the shop at the back of journey into imagination. We got them both in the bath with the characters from Winnie the Pooh, and also a Monsters Inc photo, where Sulley is dangling Rads upside down by her feed and Zak is lying underneath him, they look great.
Then we were off to MGM to do our favourites and we also had a Fantasmic dinner package booked for tonight. We got the boat over to MGM from the international gateway (I love traveling to the parks by boat
). First stop of course is to get fast passes for TOT, while we were waiting for our time slot we watched Beauty and the Beast, which is always a great show, Zak watched also and really seemed to enjoy the music and characters. Then it was time to ride TOT (another parentswithch of course) Came off and got more fast passes for later, then off to watch the parade, this is the first time we've seen the stars in their motor cars parade and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, again Zak got plenty of attention from the characters as they walked past us.
Back to ride TOT again, another parentswitch with the Fps, and then it was time for dinner so we wandered over to Hollywood and Vine, lovely buffet in there and all the food was very tasty, and plenty of choice, only problem was that they had put us under the air conditioning duct and it was really cold in our corner, as we didn't' really notice when we first went in as we were hot from outside we didn't think to ask to be moved until it was too late. The waitress brought over some serviettes (unasked) for us to cover Zak over with, but he does have a tendency to remove any covers in his quest to put everything in his mouth!!
I have to say this was the one and only time during the whole trip that I felt uncomfortable with a baby, as Z was cold he got a little grizzly, which isnt' like him at all and the fist time in the holiday, he's normally very quickly pacified when you give him the food/drink/cuddle/rock etc. that he's asking for. Normally when we've been sorting him out, no-one bats an eyelid, but this time the people on the surrounding tables were staring at us in quite a disapproving way, I'm very good at ignoring things like this and one kind American lady gave us a sympathetic look and asked if he's teething. Later on I noticed one thing in common with the families who had been staring...... they were all ENGLISH!!!!! My god, are we really that intolerant of people with babies in this country??? It had never occurred to me before, but thinking back through the holiday, Z had had loads of attention and people speaking to him, people would strike up conversations with us about him, but they were always americans. I have to admit that this evening I really felt quite ashamed to be british
Over to Fantamic next after a quick stop at the baby centre to get Z ready for bed, sat and watched Fantasmic, which although a great show, doesn't compare to Illuminations IMHO and then got the boat back to the Beach Club and off to bed.
