The "Why I didn't speak to my sister for a week" trip report *** Now Complete :)

*rips off one of Jimmy Buffett's classic songs....*

"Come Monday, it'll be all right, come Monday....Marina will update her trip!!"

Okay, so that doesn't rhyme. But daggone it, it's been Monday for over 8 hours here in the U.S. of A, and I am impatient! You certainly have that old comedian's rule down perfectly....always leave 'em wanting more!

Grrrrrr. *shakes paw*

Alex was still awake. When she heard us she came to our room and asked what we'd done.

"What about you? Didn't you guys go out at all ?"

They did. They'd gone to Disney Quest, for an hour. It was quite busy and they didn't want to wait in line so all they did was regular video games, pinball, and things like that...

Alex said it was "okay" but she would have liked to do the bigger virtual reality games, too. Well yeah, isn't that kind of the whole point to Disney Quest ? :confused3

But at least they had gone out, even if it wasn't for long. And they had more time to go back to Quest if they wanted to.

Alex and I talked about what we were going the next day. It was our MGM day and we already knew Grumpy was not going to be with us - she has decided that she hates MGM and would rather spend the day enjoying the resort.

I was really excited about going to MGM because finally, there was someone who could come and hold my hand on Tower of Terror. I'm way too chicken to go by myself. Jessi also wanted to see the Indiana Jones show, that's something Grumpy would never ever want to wait for. So I was really looking forward to that morning. However we had to be there early if we wanted to be able to ride ToT before lunch (we had reservations at Sci-Fi).

Well, you guess it. They didn't wake up. Not just Jessi this time but Alex too.
It was way past 10am when I heard some noise in their room and by then I had already decided, it was my turn to play the game.

When they finally knocked on our door - by then it was past 11, we had already missed our Sci-Fi ADR - and asked if I was ready, I told them I didn't feel like going to a park today and they could go by themselves.

"But we don't know the park at all."
"Too bad. Get a map."

I was mad and not trying to hide it anymore.

They went to see Grumpy who was at the quiet pool, and they decided to meet at 4.30 at the boat dock so we could go have dinner together at Spoodles. Then we'd go back to MGM to see Fantasmic.

That was the plan, at least.

Grumpy & I spent the afternoon at CSR. Frankly, I was bored, but I hoped that maybe they'd get the hint that I'd had enough of their laziness. We had lunch together at Pepper Market, shopped a bit and took some pics of the resort.

I wanted to steal this sign sooooooooo badly !!!!

IMG_5474.jpg

After lunch I made the mistake of eating almost all of my treat from Goofy's and half an hour later I was going through the biggest sugar crash in history. The light hurt my eyes, Grumpy's voice hurt my ears, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep it off.

But I didn't want to act like my sister.

That, and we were going to Spoodles, where we hoped we could see our server-and-buddy Wayne again. The food at Spoodles is good, but we mostly go to see him.

So I forced myself to get up, get dressed, and we took the bus to MGM.

Jess & Alex were waiting for us at MGM. They looked to be in a great mood and I was hoping maybe we could finally have a nice evening all together. They had a bunch of shopping bags with them and showed us all they bought. Mostly Star Wars stuff - Alex loves it. She'd gotten a picture of herself as a jedi that was hilarious.

We took the boat and headed to the Boardwalk. As soon as we got into Spoodles, I spotted Wayne. Grumpy & I were thrilled !! I turned around to point him out to Jessi, but she was not behind me.

She was sitting on a bench next to the exit, holding her head in her hands and moaning. Oh, what now ??

"I don't feel well at all!"

Yay! It's finally Monday and we get an update!! I'm SO glad for you that your Poly trip is almost here!! :dance3: You & Grumpy need that vacation!

Yay! I've been looking forward to seeing another post!

I'm not a psychiatrist or a psychologist, but I have been treated for depression - your sister seems to have major symptoms of it! I hope she's getting help.

Are you doing a Pre-TR for your next trip? I think we're ALL looking forward to hearing about a great bounce-back trip for you!

She was sitting on a bench next to the exit, holding her head in her hands and moaning. Oh, what now ??

"I don't feel well at all!"

OMG, don't tell me she did it again..... Tell me you sent her backside back to CSR in a Taxi and had a awsome dinner at SPOODLES!!!

OH NO!!! Sheesh, your sister is a piece of work!

I would have wanted to have stolen that sign, too. :lmao:

PLEASE tell us that you actually got to eat at Spoodles!

How are your bruises?

This was bound to happen. It was something you wanted to do. The sleeping in, im the morning would just drive me nuts.

Time for the update booty dance....:dance3:

I'm glad you finally flipped the script on them! Hopefully she doesn't ruin Spoodles. :headache:

I keep thinking things can't get anyworse, and yet they do!

I can only imagine what is wrong with her now...............

She had a migraine. She's had them since she was a teen and I know how nasty they can be. I was more concerned than mad, but at the same time upset that we were once again heading back to our resort and wasting an entire evening.

We went into the Boardwalk resort and Grumpy went to the restrooms in the lobby to bring back a cold washcloth for her forehead. When Jessi gets a migraine she tends to really crash, and it almost turns into a panic attack, especially when she's in public. Grumpy had been carrying Lexomil in her purse - it's an anxiety medecine that Granny takes and Grumpy had taken them for the plane trip, she usually slips me one so I leave her alone and sleep. She gave Jessica one and we waited to see if it'd help. But after 15mns of sitting in the lobby of the Boardwalk she was still feeling awful and we headed outside to ask for a cab.

Grumpy was looking really glum. I knew she'd wanted to see Wayne and chat with him.

"Look, do we have to ALL go ? She's gonna go to bed anyway. What are we gonna do to help besides watch her sleep?"

Jessi heard us talking and said that we in no way had to go back with them. Stay, enjoy yourselves. She even told Alex to stay, too, but Alex would have none of it.

So we put them in cab, gave them money for the ride and for dinner, and I told Alex that if they needed any help, if Jessi got sicker, call the front desk and have them call paramedics. They took Grumpy's cell phone and left.

We went back to Spoodles. When Jessi had started getting sick, Grumpy had gone back in to cancel our ADR. I hoped they could still fit us in and they did. We begged to be in Wayne's section.

He had his back to us and was explaining the menu to another family when we sat. Then he turned around and faced me. The look on his face was hilarious. I wish I could have gotten a picture.

"YOU !!!! And YOU !!! Give me a minute please, these people here, we're almost related."

We've seen the guy twice in our lives :rotfl:
It was great to see him and catch up. Grumpy was very happy.

We had a great meal and chatted a LOT with Wayne, exchanged phone numbers and emails (he's coming to Europe soon and I hope we can meet up!), and took some silly pictures. I took me three tries to get a decent picture of these two !

TAKE 1, AKA Open your eyes, Wayne!

TAKE 3 - SCORE !!

We wanted to get decent seats for Fantasmic, so we couldn't stay very long. We paid, hugged Wayne goodbye, and left.

The Epcot boat was just leaving when we arrived and we missed it, so I killed time by taking pics of everything and anything.

We called Alex who said Jessi was in bed, and she was going to the hot tub for a while. Then whenever Jessi woke up they'd order room service.

Grumpy & I went straight to the Fantasmic theater and got great seats in the center area. I had bought glow bracelets on eBay and had brought them along tonight for all of us to enjoy. Since there were only two of us, I passed them along to all the kids that were seating next to us. Hey, why pay $15 for a glow thingy from the cart when your kid will be just as happy with a 10 cents glow stick ??? By the time the show started, everyone in our area was glowing. Grumpy & I chatted with a Canadian lady who was here with her son. She'd left her husband at home because he was too lazy and a pain to have around at Disney. Hmm that sounds familiar to any of you ???

Being close is great for pictures, but we got splashed !!! When the show ended and everyone rushed to the exit, Grumpy, the Canadian lady, her son and I stayed behind and waited for the masses to leave. They took the bus to AKL and we went back to CSR.

Jessi was awake when we got back to our room. She was feeling much better, but still a bit tired. They had ordered burgers and wings for dinner.

Alex was coughing a lot. She said she'd gone to the gift shop but couldn't find cough syrup. Since Grumpy & I wanted to go fill our mugs anyway, we offered to go and get her some. While we were at it, we got cough drops and some cold medecine too. Better be prepared. And because they hadn't had dinner with us, we bought them a gift card. This way they could get anything they wanted without having to ask one of us to pay for it. Even silly stuff.

We had quite a lot planned the next day - Animal Kingdom in the morning, with a before-park-opening ADR, then a very early dinner and Pirate and Princess party that night. Too much ? We couldn't manage to do the stuff we had planned for "light" days.

Of course, it was too much.

How great you're continuing with the update for us!! I'm glad to hear that you & Grumpy were able to have your dinner at Spoodles (with Wayne!) and then enjoy Fantasmic! You both needed a *little* pick-me-up :goodvibes

Dare we hope for yet another installment today?! :surfweb:

Are you nuts? A before park opening ADR AND P&PP after hours? Yup, you must be nuts! :rotfl2:
