Usually our conversations start off like this: It's Friday morning at 7 AM...
Me: "Hey, we don't have anything until Sunday morning. We could drive
down, be in the magic tonight, eat at Boma's (awwww yeah!) Wouldn't
that be great?"
Her: "Your nuts. Get up so DS won't be late for pre-school."
Me: "But wouldn't it be so much fun?"
Her: "Sure it would, but we don't have the money, and I don't want to have
to fool with that right now."
Me: "Just think how cute DS is when his face sees the entrance sign and all
the characters. Wouldn't that be great to see today?"
Now, I do have a secret weapon that's really not so secret. But if I really want to go, I pull out the big guns and that's usually about all it takes. All I usually have to say is "Do you want me to use the weapon?" And she responds by saying, "Don't you dare!"
Me: "I'll tell you what, I'll just ask DS if he would like to go." (By that time she is already thinking about it and secretly wants to go too, but she wants to be all responsible and all.) It's at that point that the smile comes across her face and she starts to laugh. Because she knows that if I mention it to DS, we're going!
