Laura= you have good reason to be proud of Liam, that is an awesome accomplishment. Now if you get the serge machine out of the box i will clean up the machine Welby gave me. I want to make a shower curtain....far cry from a skating outfit

Gretchen- I am so angry for our Hailey! I don't care that she is happy with the toy, she is not treated the way she deserves. No child should be thought as a second class grandchild, shame on Kenny's mother.

Sheryl- I made the muffalettas and they are in the refridgerator. I really made a mistake on the bread, it is more of an artisan bread so it is pretty dense. I "tested" the olive salad......and it is delicious! Thank you once again. Now be prepared for more calls as I make the jambalaya tomorrow after Mass.

Kat- your saints are going to do well, relax and enjoy this ride!

Dinner was mexican lasagna, bean burrito bake and rolls and butter. Shrimp cocktail to start and warm winter cake, brownies and spice cake for dessert. We had a card party here so lots of food!

Now off to bed....we have early Mass, Kady's catechism class and her party that was canceled before Christmas and then back howm to get ready fot teh Super Bolw.

I just had a very long post & lost it! Grrrrr

I've been having stomach trouble all day. Just realized I haven't taken my fiber for days!

Nan, I really enjoyed chatting today. We went to church this evening, so I'll be home all day, call me if you need to. I was thinking you might want to microwave the muffs for just a minute or two, to warm up the insides, then continue heating them in your regular oven.

Prayers that those babies get the help they need!

Marilyn, Glad you're having fun with the kids! Can't believe 28 inches!

Becky, Again I bow to you! Those lamb chops and THAT GNOCCHI!!!! Oh my goodness! You are going to LOVE your mixer!!! I can't wait to see what will be coming out of your kitchen with it!

Laura, YAY for Liam!! Your kids are on a roll! ( I think it's because they have a great Mom!)

Gretchen, I'm sorry about Kenny's evil Step Mother!! That's just rotten.

DH & I are wide awake watching Saint's coverage! Pre-game starts at 8 AM tomorrow!!

I LOVE having friends all over cheering on the WHO DAT NATION!!!!

I wish y'all could see & feel the excitement around here. EVERYONE in church was wearing Saints' Gear, everywhere you go people are happy & smiling!

Yep, I am not going out until I absolutely have too! It was a little worrisome earlier though, the lights were flickering.

Marilyn – Gotta love those kids, too funny! They don’t feel the cold when it comes to having fun (or their version of having fun).

I went to get the kids in not long after I last posted and found the two 9yo's laying in the snow outside just talking. They got mad at me because they didn't want to come in.

There is one town, about 5 miles away, that had thundersnow last night and got about 4 inches in an hour. They ended up with a total of 38 inches.

Prayers are with Aimee, Maria, Vickie's friend and nephew, the kids Nan told us about and anyone else who needs them. I am not really keeping up lately and I hate to be such a downer. I am so ready for some normalcy again.

I am traveling to VT tomorrow afternoon. The funeral is on Tues and then will come home Wed. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I dont think I could get by without them.

No big food going on here today, I was up last night with a bug. Hoping it will not get anyone else.

DSS is coming over to watch the game with us.

WFD- Beer, chips with salsa & guac, wine, pita chips & red pepper hummus, italian subs, beer, and sweets from the local Italian bakery (their is a lobster tail with my name on it!).

I tasted it yesterday and it is really good! I am giving some to my parents and to Laura, and then John and I will have some tomorrow with dinner since we are having soup--ribollita. For the past few weeks I have been figuring out the menus for a week at a time and shopping just for what I need to make those recipes. I thought this would save me money, but it's not really at all. It is nice to know what I am cooking though, and getting some advance stuff done on the weekends.

WFD: um, not sure. Laura is bringing grouper and I have to figure out what to do with it. Maybe fish tacos.

Been a super busy morning, brought new Saints balloons to cemetary and missed a call from the Scottish Division of the Who Dat nation!

I'm cooking and pacing, never been this excited in my entire LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

Sheryl- I also enjoyed our chat, well let's be honest.....you had a hard time getting a word in between all of my chatter
I made teh muffs last night and will nuke them before popping them in the oven. I know I chose the wrong bread but the filling will be good.

Jambalaya is made and we can heat it up. It does have a kick! I used andouille, chicken adn tasso ham.

Meatballs are heating in sauce adn there is mozz cheeze ready for NO Meatball Po'boys

I have wings ready to pop in and will make buffalo sauce for them. Plain for Marisa adn kady

Welby is making a blackberry cake. SHe looked for some new Orleans recipes adn hopes that this is good. I know it will be

I also made some dips adn will have cheese and crackers, and a friend is bringing a meat dip. We will not go hungry!

I will chat with you all after the game but in the meantime

Our menu today, Black-ened Prime Rack of Colt, with Crushed Horsey sauce & au jus! Roasted Gold baby potatoes, sauteed mushrooms (actually blackened because I was watching Wynton Marsalis & forgot I had them on ) Turf Green Sauteed Spinach. We had a veggie tray earlier, we'll eat in a bit, which I know is a bad idea cause my tummy is going to get upset later. We'll have popcorn, chips & dip later.

I have to say, I am so excited for all of you NOLA ladies. Geaux Saints!! My neighbor invited us up to watch the first half of the game. She will have lots of food, but I am way too stuffed to eat any of it. We had pan-seared grouper with black bean and mango salsa (black and gold ), coconut cilantro rice and fried plantains (tostones....I think). The grouper was so good, everyone had a second serving.

Kathy -- I didn't take the laughing the wrong way at all! The reason I quoted you was because that was exactly what I was thinking when Caili's teacher suggested acting. Just what we need...

Now if you get the serge machine out of the box i will clean up the machine Welby gave me.

I'll let you know when I get it out. I have to clean up my hoarding piles first.

I bought more fabric last night. I was reading a skating blog and a writer was describing how to dye silk fabric, so I went over to the fabric site she suggested, and I was so surprised at how inexpensive the silk was, I bought some. This is really getting out of control. On the plus side, if we ever get 28 inches of snow like Marilyn, I will have a lot to occupy myself.

I am starting my cooking now. I want to just sit as still as possible once the game starts. I don't want to keep running to the kitchen.

Lauren You and your family are in my thoughts. We had something similar with my dad and grandfather but they died 3 1/2 months apart.

Laura I have stacks of quilting fabric. I need a new machine but haven't gotten around to plunking down the money for the one that I want. Too much money, I rather go on vacation.
