Have a wonderful holiday, my WFD friends!!

Just a quick check in. Thanks for all the kind thoughts, I know they will be special and I'm very fortunate to have many wonderful memories of my gram.

I'm sorry this will be a difficult Christmas for some of you, but I still hope you are all able to have a good time.

Lauren- My thoughts are with you, your brother, and the rest of your family. I hope Thomas has a great first Christmas, you won't be able to keep from smiling.

I don't know what Christmas dinner is, it's at my inlaws. I'm assuming ham and the appropriate sides.

The outlaws are coming over for dinner tonight, I'm cheating and making it really simple. Cheese and crackers, baked ziti, garlic bread, a big salad, and cannoli cones. I've wanted to try them for a while, it's just sugar cones with cannoli filling. I thought is sounded fun.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas. You all have gone from good company, to great friends, to family. On that note, the dog just threw up, so off to clean the carpet.

I'm not sure if I'll be around until after New Year's, so have a great time all.

Janice – Your picture was really pretty. Your post reminded me of a black lab I once had. She loved to get the newspaper and would have trouble with the big Sunday paper so she’d drag it.:goodvibes

Nan – I would thing the pasta dish would be fine made ahead, using lots of sauce.

Robin – “On that note, the dog just threw up, so off to clean the carpet”….you just made my day!:rotfl2:

Becky – Great pics as always!

I would also like to wish my WFD family a very Happy Holiday Season. I’ve said it before but I’m saying it again, y’all are my family and I thank God I found each and every one of you.:grouphug:

Off to make my Rum cake then visiting MIL at the nursing home. She is not embracing this idea at all.:sad1:

We're in for a rough weather day, ton of rain and tornadoes possible.

 :yay: :woohoo: I do believe we have dodged the BIG one. Praise the Lord!!!

We still have blizzard conditions but the large amount of snow we were to get isn't happening. Everything is ice covered and the roads are very dangerous but we are moving. Slow but sure. And the power is staying on. No outages anywhere. Christmas Eve services are also a go. We are all very very thankful. I just need to get 3 of my kids home and then I will breathe a lot easier. They are coming in from the east so it could be slow going, but if they are careful and take it slow I do believe they will get here.

My Christmas Eve dinner is:
Sirloins - grilled in the snow
Crab legs
Kitchen sink salad,
baked potatoes
Chrismas cookies and candies.

Christmas dinner is:
Prime Rib
Spiral Honey basted ham
Cream cheese potatoes
Gravy
Cheesey potatoes
Creamed cabbage
Corn pudding
Barley casserole
Broccoli and bacon salad
strawberry pretzle salad
Home made knot rolls
Blackberry pie
Pecan pie
Coconut cream pie
Cookies and candies

There will be 16 of us minus Jay but a good time will be had by all. We will be able to skype with him tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to all of my dear friends here on WFDT. You have made my last year so great. At times I don't know what I would have done without you all. Blessings to you all!!

Ellen - So glad to hear things are not as bad as you'd feared and that power is still on! You've got quite a feast on for tonight as well as tomorrow! Please tell Jay we all wish him a Merry Christmas and offer continued prayers for his safety.

Kat, thinking of you today.

Ann, thank you for the wonderful call:hug:

Ellen, thank goodness!!!!! Still be safe & be cautious.

Last night was really magical. We started the night in one of my favorite restaurants & we had champagne & cheese, asparagus, black olives & baby artichokes.
We were then off to the Nutcracker which is so beautiful. Then to Petrosian where we actually had our first date 8 years ago. We had caviar & lots of delicious champagne. The city looked beautiful dressed for the holidays.

Well what a difference a day makes. Today all of Greg's family canceled for Saturday & Greg's heart broke. I made the mistake of calling his brother trying to make him see how hurt Greg was & there was a major blow up which I was equally at fault. You can hurt me but not my family & friends & I said things that I will never take back. My heart breaks for Greg that in the years we have been together they have never visited Boston or NJ.

SOOOOO......

Anyway I wish everyone a joyous day.

Thank you my friends for the joy, laughs & support you show me throughout the year. May God bless you & your loved ones.

To all our little ones I know Santa:santa: has them on the "NICE" list:lovestruc

Maria :hug:My mouth has a mind of it's one. It spills and all I can do is watch and hope that in the end all turns out well. as long as I live I'll never understand why family can be so hurtful.

Ellen Please extend my blessings to Jay as well and a big Thank You. I pray for his safety as well.

I hope everyone is able to be with some family, how ever big or small or at least be with friends.

I will pop in tomorrow. Now I need to help the elves scrap off the driveway so Santa doesn't break something.:rolleyes1

Received cards today from Lori, Marisa(love that smile on Kady) and Nancy.:goodvibes Thanks y'all!!!!!!

Maria - I'm so sorry that Greg's family are being so icky! Wish I lived closer. I'd come visit!!! Sounds like you had a magical evening in the City! Sounded wonderful!!

Ellen - Thank heaven for small favors! I'm hoping that all your birdies find their way home safely, and know that I'm praying for Jay! Your menu is amazing. I'd love to have your creamed cabbage recipe among others. I'll formally request them after the holiday, though! You sound a bit busy right now!

Well, I finished wrapping presents at 1:00 this morning. Alan was at the store most of that time, finishing up his shopping. He still has wrapping to do, but that's his problem, not mine!

We got up this morning, and while I made one last batch of cinnamon rolls, the kids cleaned the house. Then we were off to IHOP (Yes, Nancy, we made it!) for our annual brunch. I tried the pecan pie pancakes, and they were divine!!! Katie had the egg nog ones, and she liked them, too. I didn't try them, as I was already on sugar overload! After brunch, we did a few last minute errands, and now we are home! The kids have delivered presents to their friends, and taken plates of goodies to our neighbors.

I'm spending the rest of the day making Chex mix, fudge, cookie dough truffles, and roasting pine nuts. I also need to make clam dip! Once that's all underway, I'm going to throw together the egg nog gelatin for tomorrow, and try to get to the sweet potato casserole.

Alan wants to make some bread bowls for tonight, so at some point, I'll have to give up the kitchen. I'm making baked potato soup for dinner. Yummy!!!

After dinner, the kids will decorate our gingerbread house for Santa, and then we'll settle in to watch "The Nativity Story." Once that's done, they'll get to open their Christmas jammies, and ornaments. Then, once they pose for pictures in front of the tree, it's off to bed they'll go. They all sleep together in Katie's room tonight. Hopefully, Santa will find his way here and won't be too long about it, either!

I'll check in tomorrow, after all the hullaballoo is over!

I love you all, and wish you the merriest of holiday's! Thanks for being my "heart" family! Someday I'll get my Christmas wish and get to meet each and every one of you in person! That's my goal!

Just did one last little trip out to the grocery store and Trader Joe's. Also decided to stop at Michaels.

I swear people are idiots sometimes. I come close to hitting this stupid man who seemed to think that I have x-ray vision and can see through the back of a darkened SUV. :headache: I stopped at a crosswalk then proceded once I could and just past it this guy darts out from behind the SUV in the next lane.

First there was the lady who nearly got hit in the grocery store parking lot when she ran just 2 feet behind a car that was pulling out of the parking space. :sad2: Then this guy with a death wish.

Last night I saw a funny one though. I went to JoAnn fabrics, then Pier 1 and finally Target. When I got to the shopping center it was crazy with backed up traffic. By the time I got to Pier 1 they had a security guard directing traffic, this guy was a riot.

He had what looked like one of those things they direct airplanes with and was using his head too. Just looking at him I could see him saying in his mind "come on and move it people" At one point I thought he was going to get hit by a car, some woman decided to walk across the very busy road to Target from Pier 1. So he steps right in front of this car, that was really driving too fast and puts his little light stick thing up so she could walk across.

Now to get to Target I had to make a right then a left about 20 feet down. This guy was standing in the main road at where the Pier 1 store was, not really where he should have been at the Target. So he motions me out and then I am stuck because of all of the traffic coming in. I thought for sure he was coming to yell at me. :rolleyes1 But he made traffic stop so I could make my left.

All while he is directing traffic his head is just motioning along too, I think he was in danger of whiplash! :rotfl:

Things are Christmas Eve Crazy.....but I have snuck a moment to get on and post......
I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!! I love you all and your friendship is the best gift I could ever receive!! I will be on here late tomorrow night or early Sat morning!!

Hugs and love

Nancy - I hope that you were able to get everything done that you needed to, without exausting yourself. I think all the Christmas cards have proven to Bob and Erin that I have real friends around the country, and that they are all wonderful people.

Janice - that sure is a pretty picture, although I'm sure you don't think so having to deal with it all! Neither of my dogs would bring in the paper; they get distracted to easily.

Becky - beautiful pictures, as usual. The crispy chicken cones look really delicious. I think we have that magazine, I'll have to look for the recipe.
By the way - did ya'll get your dinner at California Grill?

I wish you all a very merry Christmas. You all have gone from good company, to great friends, to family. On that note, the dog just threw up, so off to clean the carpet.

Having done this many times, I shouldn't laugh, but it really is funny in a way. Sorry!!

Kathy - to you. I hope your visit with MIL went well.

Ellen - your meal sounds wonderful. I hope the weather cooperates and everyone is able to travel safely. Add my Christmas wishes to Jay as well.

Maria - sounds like you had a great evening. I'm sorry the aftereffect was spoiled by stupid family matters. I really just don't get people sometimes. I'd love to just slap them upside the head. (okay, sorry. I got carried by my emotions.) to you and Greg.

Glynis - I must say I LOVE your family traditions. I love the idea of christmas pajamas and ornaments and that all the kids will sleep together tonight.

Marilyn - I think people get extra "silly" at Christmas time. :rolleyes1

Merry Christmas to all!

I hope everyone is well. Last night was fun with my friends. We had a great dinner of Baked dr pepper ham and bourbon beef tenderloin, potato casserole, balsmac green beens, my corn casserole.

I am waiting to go wake us Mr A so he can open his presents. Later his dad will come over so he can open the gift we got him together.

Today is going to be just us. I am going to enjoy the quiet.

It is raining out and the snow is melting the snow. Later today we should get snow again. This weather is just too crazy. Yesterdays ice storm was to nice to my trees I lost a couple of small branches.

:santa:Happiest Holiday to My Wonderful Friends and Their Families!!!! Love to All.:santa:
