I hope everyone has a great day! The birthday girl loved her cake. She is usually very chatty but was quiet while she was eating it so I know it was good:rotfl2:

I am starting my baking for later. I feel like I am getting a cold. That must be why I am all out of sorts. :upsidedow

Bethany You can use this method to substitute the baking powder Combine 5/8 teaspoon cream of tartar plus 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. I use this website a lot http://www.foodsubs.com/ It has great info. Picture and everything ;)

Thanks...that should be a good website for me! You are, however, assuming I have cream of tarter! ;) I'm going to run out to the store soon. One of them is open, the other doesn't open until 8.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!!

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my very Dear Friends. I am lucky to have you all in my life. Wishing all of you peace, joy and happiness to day and every day. Hugs to all!.

My dear, I am very glad that Marisa did knock her knee cap out but hate that the therapy will be painful. When I had my toes done, the therapy was painful and it took a good couple years for my feet to feel 100% so I can just imagine what she will go through. Prayers for her.

Janice, Your cake came out great! I hope you feel better.

Maria, Guiliana is just a doll!

I know I missed a lot...just wanted to wish everyone a great day.

We are all up and watching the parade. Turkey will go in a about a 1/2 hour.

xo

Janice - The cake came out great!!!!

Sheryl - Your pie and your tables look great!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful day today!

Good morning!

So I went out this morning to Winn-Dixie and they had baking powder!! Now I can make it following the list on the side of the cornmeal box. I'm glad you all have faith in me to substitute items, because I sure don't (yet)! :lmao:

After I went to Winn-Dixie I stopped in the park on the way home and walked two miles. :woohoo:

Somehow, I forgot about the parade! :confused3  I was thinking about it last night; forgot it this morning. Last year, we were watching it in Times Square and it was COLD! We didn't stay long because we were too cold!

Well I'm finally done & in bed! Made the Cherry breadpudding with the Cherry Bounce Sauce. mmm My custard failed even though I followed the directions to a tee. It's good without it. I also did braised kale with tasso & carmelized onions. Got all the dishes for serving out & think I'm ready. Tomorrow the only thing I have to cook is the brussels sprouts.

Everything is just gorgeous!!!

Our dinner reservation is for 2pm so I'm in my pjs watching the parade until I have to jump in the shower. We got the monster TV last night (it's 58 inches :rolleyes1) so DH is watching football upstairs :yay: It was all part of my master plan to NOT have to watch football anymore. Though I must admit that they are like lifesize on it, and their butts look really nice...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my WFD friends. Some may think online friends aren't real friends but I would beg to differ. You all have been there for me at times when I didn't feel like I could tell someone in "real life" and always had honest advice and support. Thanks for turning on the computer every morning and continuing our circle of friendship. I hope to hug each and everyone of you at some point!

I too am thankful for the friendshipand followship we all share. I am thankful each day you are all there. I also look forward to the day we all meet face to face instead of through typed words. Ok enough heartfelt thanks I am getting teary. I love you guys:hug:

Aimee The only reason I ever watched football is for the tight pants.:lmao:

Desserts are all made and the tray for the cheese is all ready. I am just making lunch now so I don't go overbroad on all the snacks. :rolleyes1

I like Ina and Tyler.

Aimee, what you said was so sweet and right on target. I thank God everyday I joined this thread and have made wonderful friends.

Thanksgiving went well. I was very please with how the turkey, stuffing and gravy came out. DSD liked the pumpkin pie but I was disappointed with it, now the pecan pie was to die for!!!!

How did everyone else make out??

Kathy, how was the yummy buffet!!!! I thought of you when I was doing all my work...I said boy, I wish I was sitting carefree with Kathy & Johnny enjoy a glass of wine right now and good food!

I hate all the clean up that comes now. I have alot to do today and DH wants to decorate tomorrow.

DH got a call from a nurse for the job he interviewed for. It looks like they are proceeding with the drug test. Sounds promising, please keep him in your prayers. Thanks.

WFD- leftover or takeout depnding if we go out shopping tonight.

Hello, welcome back! I like Tyler, Paula, Sandra Lee, Ina and Emeril. We enjoy watching the Challenges and of course Iron Chef.

Yesterday was bitter sweet. I really missed my family but spending it with my friends was very fun.

If anyone ever gets a chance they bought their turkey and Ham from Trader Joes it was already brined it was really really good.

I have no Idea about dinner. I have no leftovers:eek: I love leftover thanksgiving

Good morning!

My family all came in last night; we had a nice dinner.

The rental SUV I have is so nice! It's a Ford Flex and it had 2.9 miles on it at when I picked it up! It has all sorts of cool features like the navigation screen and the back up video. I'm getting spoiled! :lmao:

I'm not even totally sure what we're doing today. We are doing family pictures at JCPenney so that means the mall on Black Friday. :scared1:

I hope everyone had a great time yesterday and has a good day today!

It was awesome! The weather was gorgeous so we enjoyed "playing tourist" in the French Quarter. I think we have a new Thanksgiving tradition.;)

WFD - Steaks on the grill, baked potatoes and spinach salad.

Morning all! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was nice, we ended up with 11 adults and 2 kids. Then my DIL came over last night after work (she's a nurse), had dinner, went thru the tons of ads from the newspaper and then took my daughter home. They were getting up very early to do shopping. The only hitch was that my MIL was gonna make desserts and didn't come because she wasn't feeling well. She called my sister on Wednesday and asked her to do desserts. So DSis goes to WalMart and buys a cake, apple pie and pecan pie. The pecan pie was okay (except only about half the pie had pecans on it) but the other stuff was yucky. I could have and would have made something if I had known.

DH is working a half day today and I'm off; the dogs even were cooperative and let me sleep to just before 7 :thumbsup2.

Friday night dinner is at our house tonight. I'm cooking white beans (by request) and for the few who don't eat beans I'm doing Le Cellier's Cheddar Cheese Soup. I have extra cauliflower that I'll do something with and I also am doing the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits. For dessert, I went back to my Disney cookbook and am doing WCC's Apple Caramel Pie. We're talking to DS, DIL and Jason & Nikki (the other couple in our Friday night group) about coming to Disney with us next year. DS/DIL will probably go, but they are trying to get pregnant and she's concerned about what stage she may be in when we go, or even if. Nikki has never been so if they go it will be fun.

Maria - What a precious little girl!

Marisa - I hope you are in less pain. I'm sorry that this is gonna be a difficult recovery.

Janice - nice cake. I want to run my finger thru that icing!

Kathy - glad you enjoyed the buffet!

Lauri, I really like Hogue Reisling! Good with desserts!

Sheryl - I'm not a big wine drinker and prefer the sweeter wines. I was introduced to the Hogue Riesling on our last trip to WDW by our waiter at Artist Pointe.
The pie and your tables look great!

So my mom told me that I needed to stop eating all meat and dairy so I would lose weight. :headache: Then she told me I need to go to bed right now so I won't be cranky tomorrow. I don't think the bedtime is the culprit in the crankiness. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :lmao:

I wonder if we had the same waiter? That's where I was introduced to Hogue late harvest Reisling. I too like sweet. Oh that Pumpkin spice wine I found was really very good, I drank half the bottle. I don't know if they ship outside of Illinois, The winery is Praire State.

The store around here where a madhouse. I just got Alex done. If what I wanted for him wasn't at a really good price I would have stayed home.

Hi, everyone. Been very busy lately and haven't spent much time on the DIS.

For those of you who are Food Network watchers, who are your favorite chefs and shows?

I really only watch Rachael and Giada if they are on. I also don't mind Sandra. Ina puts me to sleep, though I like her recipes.

DH got a call from a nurse for the job he interviewed for. It looks like they are proceeding with the drug test. Sounds promising, please keep him in your prayers. Thanks..

:woohoo:

Our lunch was delicious as always - I mostly ate smoked salmon, shrimp, and bacon :rotfl: This was a new venue and we really liked it. It wasn't as crowded as the last hotel we went to and the service was fabulous. The all you can drink mimosas didn't hurt either :rolleyes1

I've been internet shopping on Amazon all day yesterday and again today. So many good deals, and since I got a free month of Amazon Prime it doesn't cost me anything to ship regardless of the purchase size.

I have no idea on dinner :confused3 I'm honestly craving fast food, since we've eaten "good" food all week. That doesn't make sense does it? I want a Big Mac or something like that

Hi Everyone! We had a very nice day yesterday...good food, good wine and good company. I am wiped today even though I really didn't do any of the work. Dinner is leftovers.

Maria -- What a beautiful little girl.

Janice -- The cake looked great. I forgot my PIN number once too. I never could remember it.

Marisa -- I'm sorry your recovery is going to be tough. Hopefully, you will feel a lot better once you get through it.

Sheryl -- Your tables looked so pretty and the pie looked delicious.

Ann -- Good luck to Ron!

 to everyone missing loved ones this holiday season.

Okay, my mind is mush, so that's about all I have retained. It's such a dreary day I would like to go to sleep! I don't think the kids are going to allow that though.

Maria, she is a beautiful baby.
Sheryl, beautiful pie!

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I did not take any pictures. The food was good though.

I am wiped today too! It's 1 PM and I am still in my PJs. Hooray for lazy Fridays.
