The Westboro Baptist Church (Google them) is coming to Orlando

They are promoting violence as well.

It is easy to say that someone shouldn't have these rights. Until it happens to you.

Once they promote violence, their protest can be shut down. You can't tell someone to go out and kill someone.

Yes, the unintended consequence of free speech is that everyone has it. Of course if we didn't have it, you would also lose your right to free speech. As would I.

In my opinion, it is worth it to put up with others speech to keep my right to say what I think.

I wouldn't be happy living in a country that restricted my speech to what others wanted me to say.

That doesn't make what this "church" preaches any less reprehensible.

They have applied for a permit to protest Saturday June 18th at 10:15 am to Sunday June 19th at 1:30am.

The permit is for 130 North Magnolia Avenue in Orlando

These are the folks that have made a name protesting gay funerals and such. (again...Google them)

If you are in the area...PEACEFULLY show them that love is stronger than hate.

This group tried to protest at the funeral of a military member killed in duty from a small town close to me. They tried to say that it was their right when the services were held on his families ranch located several miles off a public road. They were met and blocked by a number of local bikers groups, the state highway patrol and the sheriffs departments of not only the county the family lived in but a number of others as well. Neighbors opened up gates and private roads so that anyone who was attending the funeral didn't have to go past those clowns. They left when they discovered they weren't going to be able to be attention whores.

I find it incredibly sad that there are people like this organisation who feel such deep hatred. I pity them in many ways, I would hate to live like that.

Absolutely priceless! Sure wish I'd thought of it.

One of the saddest conversations of my life was speaking with a Kansas couple whose son's funeral was one of the first picketed by the WBC.

I lived in Kansas when all this garbage began, and believe me, this group was a huge embarrassment for decades.

It was a delight to learn of the bikers' intervention and now the angel wing shields. Peaceful resistance that blocks and conceals is the key.

They are a disgrace to Christianity. So wish we were still in town on vacation, as I would be there. I am sure they will be greatly outnumbered by those who not only support the victims but also understand that Jesus most certainly did not discriminate and was all about love.
