Leaving for land and sea on Thurs (Sept 5)...3 days at the Poly and then on to the Wonder for 4days. I have been checking out the weather forcast on the weather channel online and I am not liking what I see. Thunderstorms in Orlando and the Bahamas for the next ten days!!! Please, someone tell me that it will not happen....even if you have to lie to me!! It can not...I repeat can not storm on this vacation. By the way... will I see Barb and Tony on this Wonder cruise or will they be done by then? Anybody out there on board right now?? Tell me it is beautiful weather!!!

No reason to freak out. :) It is hurricane season and it does rain a lot this time of year, BUT at WDW the rain is generally limited to an hour or two in the afternoon, no big deal. Just bring your rain ponchos and keep going! :)

As for the ship, as much as possible they will steer clear of bad weather, and again, it typically does not rain all day at either port, just afternoon showers.

Relax, you are going to have a blast! :sunny:

It will not happen, It will not happen, It will not happen!!! ;) Don't look at the weather reports. You can't do anything about the weather, so I never check the forecasts if I plan something. Why worry, when half the time they are wrong anyway!:smooth: Have a great vacation!

Cant8 -
Let me know what hut you were at when you were at the Poly and any recommendations - my family and I are doing 3 nights there in December along with the 4 night cruise.
Thanks!!!
Rae

No need to worry because of the weather forecast.

It rains everyday in Florida in the summertime. Usually around 3pm. It lasts 20-30 minutes and then clears up and the rest of the day is fine. Rain will not be the dominant feature of the day... but the forecasters forecast rain because people get upset if they didn't know to expect rain.

So, no worries!

Coming from a FL resident, I really don't think you have anything to worry about. It definitely is the rainy season here in FL, and the weather forcast always says 50% chance of rain on each and every day during the summer/fall. But, just like several others have said, the storms last for usually no more than an hour or two, then it clears up and it's sunny (and humid) again!!!

Stop looking at the weather reports!!! They will just get you worried. I repeat, stop looking at the weather reports!!!

You will have a GREAT time, and FL storms won't stop you!!!

Thanks all, I can put away my hyperventilation bag now. The way I look at it is....anyplace is better than work, rain or shine!!! rae519, I will post a trip report and let you know all the dirt.

You are the best! Thanks!!!!!
And you weren't alone in worrying about the weather - Indiana is tornado country - I'm always watching the sky and weather channel. But even more so as the days count down to THE CRUISE!

Happy sailing with good seas and bright blue skies!

Being a longgggg time Floridian - I would like to enlighten those that are frighten with Florida weather - there have been NUMBEROUS of times that my children have called from out of state due to just "watching" the weather on TV in Florida - the weather has had us - blown off the state - as each child would call so concern - I would be sitting outside with the sun shining down on me - I would look at my weather forecast and completely different - remember one thing about our weather, if you don't like it at the moment - just stick around for it will change within a short time. It will be fine for your cruise sweetie so don't get worked up over it.
Always
Shirley
