It's 2:05 in the afternoon and the sun is shining in a bright blue sky.

The temperature is 73 degrees.

I spend most of my life seething with envy on the subject of Orlando vs. Cleveland weather. My shoulders fall about 2 inches and my head must follow and kind of slumps down almost every single time the podcast does the weather.

But not today. So blah.

:)

While Florida has nice weather in the winter, I MUCH prefer the Midwest's summer weather. :)

No matter how much us midwesterners try and spin the weather for or against Orlando the bottom line remains.

Orlando has Walt Disney World, Universal, and Sea World and we don't! :)

SoCal has Disneyland, Universal, and Sea World - and they have better summer weather than Orlando!

Mee too. Is there a Disney park in the midwest?
Grrrr...no. But there should be. They could open seasonally like Cedar Point does and Sea World did.

One park. Is that too much to ask?

Orlando is better than Cleveland, no two ways about it. In some ways, we tie. You have Love Bugs, we have midges. You have the Marlins, we have the Tribe. You have hurricanes, we have tornados. You have theme parks, we have Cedar Point...not so much a tie, but God threw us a bone there. You have John, we have me (although that might not be so much a tie as a nudge up on the Cleveland side. IMHO. ;) )

You have sunshine all year, we have bitter cold. You have hurricanes, we have snow. You have ice cream all year, we have ice. You can bother to invest in good flip-flops that you'll use a lot, we save our dough for boots. You have theme parks, we have...snow piled as high as Space Mountain.

You win.

Just not winning for weather yesterday. Or today. :cool1: So blah. :p

Go ahead, do the weather. :thumbsup2

I have lived in the northeast and I have lived in FL.

There are things to be said for both places.

There is nothing as glorious as a crisp autumn day in upstate NY.

There is nothing more soothing that a 75 degree day in December in Florida.

There are also negatives to both places.

There is nothing as gloomy as those January days in uupstate NY when the sky is steel grey, the snow is steel grey and the weather predicts sleet and rain.

There is nothing as bad as a mid summer Florda day when the temperature is 101 with 90% humidity and the sun even makes your hair hurt.

With all of that being said...I made my descision to live in Florida because hot weather does not make my car slide off the road into a ditch and I dont have to shovel sunshine.

If I had my way.....I would live in Florida from October through May and I would live along the mid-Atlantic coast from May through the end of September.

That to me, would be abaolutely perfect.

Some day.

Sounds perfect to me, too! :)

I like that. :)

Having never, ever spent a summer in a southern state, I confess to not knowing what that is like. I have been to Orlando for 10 days in July and in August, though, so I have some idea and think I'd prefer the blistering heat to the bitter cold.

I'd take Orlando over Cleveland. If it were all my decision...but it isn't. I even take whole afternoons of my vacation to drive around and see where I'd live - what's around, all that jazz...and wonder just who in the hell Dr. Phillips is (was?), which I'll find out if I ever get to move there. It's my dream.

Some day.

:)

Technically, you do shovel sunshine into our lives by doing the podcast. :hippie: (Ow, I think I gave myself a cavity)

Anyway, I am going to miss Florida weather when I leave, but I will be happy to have seasons. It will be beyond cool to have 75 degree weather in summer (no pun intended). Keep in mind, though, that the weather on the coast by me is much cooler because of the sea breeze, which makes it less oppressive. Diving into the ocean on a summer day is amazing because the water is always perfect. Lakes, on the other hand...one word: pollution. That's all I think of when I see a lake. Maybe that's because I have lived in FL my whole life, but I still would never swim in one.
