The Cast
DH-Rick-51 (Always On The Run - King)
DW-Julia-44 (Walkway From The Photo - Queen)
DS-Matt-16 (Not Camera Shy - Prince)
DD-Nicole-15 (Future Animator - Princess)
6 Nights In POP Century and 8 mights In Bahama Bay Resort
Day 7- 19th Dec/07
We were able to have a lie-in this morning .After breakfast and walk through the gift shop DH and DD went to the front desk to chek-out.
While in line a very friendly stranger out of the blue asked DH if DD was his daughter. And then went on a rant about how her daughter had severe PMS and how everyone had to deal with it. DH and DD moved on very quickly before getting to involved in this ladies' personal life
We then finish packing and load them into the car before catching the bus to DTD.
It is a very quiet and sunny day at DTD. We wander from Market Place to West Side and on the way we see the signage for the new Dinosaur Restaurant opening next year.
We buy some fudge from the Candy Cauldron and sit by the lake at Bongos eating this yummy delight
After walking back to Market Place we have lunch at McDonalds before catching the bus back to POP.
We pick up the car and say goodbye to POP which served as a terrific accomodation for the past few days.
We found that the Annual Pass, Value Season discount for both connecting rooms was great value for money. We hope to return soon to POP using a similar set-up.
We drive west along US192 until we reach US27 and then head south about a couple of miles before arriving at the Bahama Bay Resort. We have stayed offsite many times in the past but always east of I4, So,this will be our first experience out there.
It is a beautiful resort but the signage is not so good to find it (there was a large billboard a few miles back but no sign off of US27 where to turn off). We are allocated Building 33, Room 505 on the ground floor (a 3 bedroom condo).
After dropping off the cases we head off to the new Super Walmart on US27 which is about 3 or 4 miles north.
$170 later we are back with a few groceries.
The suite is lovely and well decorated and seems quite new. There are two TV's (one in the Living Room and one in the Master bedroom). The TV in the Master is fixed to the 9ft ceiling and you have to lay flat on your back to see it :d:
We had hoped for a King bed but it was only a Queen.the kitchen had a stove top kettle rather than an electric one (which is something I find quite baffling with many US hotels condos). The sound insulation from the unit upstairs was pretty poor and we could hear every clumping footstep upstairs. The local swimming pool was quite cold and in fact we found out that it was only the Main Pool that had sufficient heat(a requirement in December).
Although the hotel itself is very nice ,we found it to be a wee bit too far out and isolated from many ammenities. they are starting to build more shops ,restaurants and new backroads to the US192 (shortcut)but that will take a couple of years to complete.
We have no complaints about the kitchen and bathroom and bedroom supplies (linen and towels were plentiful) and although we were disappointed with a few things, overall it was a great condo.
On the first night we watched a DVD of the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie that DD had bought.
Then off to bed.
