The Way too Late but Way to Awesome Not To Report-NEW* 10/10* An Almost Empty Epcot -

Poor Bryton!! I have a feeling the waitress would have felt terrible if she would have realized what happend.

Lol at your sibling love picture. Sums up big sibling/little siblings exactly!!!

I've been reading from work, but I can't post. Woo hoo to al the magic for Bryton!! I've been dreaming of fish and chips from CHH. Two weeks and two days and they will be MINE!

Hi SunnieRN...glad you are here. :goodvibes I am sure the waitress had no idea. :rolleyes1 He just kept his head down and ate and ate. He is a really good eater anyway so I honestly wasn't thinking a lot about it. But it was just too much for him...

It is a funny pic of my kids. I have a few more "sibling love" pics from this trip so they will be coming up shortly.

I know you must be so excited about your trip. :yay: Here's hoping that you have many magical moments and lots of yummy food! pixiedust:

Sorry, I have read along, but haven't had time to post. I'm so glad your son got dumped with pixiedust:

Sorry Bryton ate too much. Although he looked good in that last picture.

And why is it that all the cute shirts are in kids sizes only!!!

Your son is looking at you like "mom please take this picture quick so she will get out of my FACE!!!" :rotfl2:

I'm glad you have come back to finish this one Darlene. It is enjoyable!!

Hi aldisneygirl!

Thanks for hanging in with me and reading along. :goodvibes

I am happy I am finishing it up too! I am having to stretch my memory for some details. Actually, I just ask my kids and they usually remember. :rotfl:It helps to have a ton of pictures, too.

Hi...I have a technical question.

How do you quote more than one person per reply?:confused3

I hate having to take the time to do each reply individually. But I just don't know what to do!

I know you guys know exactly how to do this so...thanks in advance for your help! :goodvibes

TTFN,
Darlene

I'm just jumping on board, but I can help you with the reply question!

Next to the quote button in each reply is a little square with the quotation symbol and a plus sign; if you hover your mouse over it it should say something like "multi quote this message". Just click that for each reply you want to quote, then hit the main "Post Reply" button and VOILA!

- You just click on the button with the "+" for all the posts you want to reply too, then when you are done, hit post reply, and all the quoted ones should be there. ;) Now you will have to put space in between them all for your response, but they will all be there at once. Hope this makes sense, if not, send me a PM. ;)

Today was the day for AK. We were really trying to make rope drop as we have never experienced that fun event at AK. As fate would have it we didn’t make it again. :confused3
The first thing we noticed upon leaving the room is the heat…how can it be Oct.? If my memory serves me correctly, the heat index was over 100 (at the high point of the day). :eek:It was truly miserable. It was so, so hot and sticky. It was the type of day that you just sweat when you step out the door…no activity required. Anyway…enough complaining…off we go

Right after arriving …

The first goal is Expedition Everest –

Here are some interesting sights we saw just prior to our expedition…
(the details while in the line are awesome)

My kids would say let’s do it as many times as possible. :sad2: My tummy can only take 2 or 3 back to back rides especially first thing in the morning. It was only a 5 to 10 minute wait so we rode it a couple of times and grabbed some FPs for later in the day.:thumbsup2

Here is a redneck version of our ride photo…

After EE we saw some lovely feathered friends…

Then we headed to…
DSC_0700.jpg

And ran into the cutest Mouse anywhere…or as my DD would say – her future husband…Yes, she wants to marry Mickey!

We also saw

You may wonder what the characters are signing. Here is the story… We wanted to come up with something different to do for autographs. I had thought of having them sign a hat or a T-shirt but that didn’t really appeal to me because I thought it would be so hard to make it stiff enough for them to autograph. Then we came up with the idea of a tote bag. I had pre-stamped (with fabric paint) her name on one side and trimmed in glitter paint. We placed a really thick, stiff piece of cardboard on the inside to make it easier for the characters to sign. We purchased a large package of multiple color permanent markers and tried to coordinate the colors with that character.
The bag turned out super cute. Hopefully, I have a pictures to show later in the TR. We got a lot of comments from the characters also. I felt kind of bad for DS (not having anything unique) but he didn’t seem to mind. If he were younger a tote bag may not have been a bad idea. I am not sure but boys are so much harder to find ideas for. Thankfully he was happy with his autograph book.:thumbsup2

After all of the character meets and being out in the heat for sometime we decided it was time to sit and cool off so we wandered under this

The audience during this show always cracks me up. I can never get over just how creeped out people get about insects. Don’t get me wrong I hate them too. But there is always screaming and yelling; sometimes even crying and it is just so funny to me. Anyway….we love this show. It is a must see for us.

As we are waiting…:rolleyes1

I think DD and DS were starting to grate on one another’s nerves…more sibling love!

I think it is time for some food!
How about…Flame Tree BBQ

As we approached Flame Tree we stopped for a few minutes to enjoy these guys…

Flame Tree is a really good counter service if you are unsure where to eat while at AK. My favorite was Tusker House…I still miss it. :sad2: Everytime I go to AK I think, “Why?” :confused3 I don’t think anything else at AK even comes close to it. Oh well…
There are many really great places to sit while you eat here. The only problem is you have to carry your tray for a little distance. We found a great spot by the water and enjoyed a nice little breeze and a great view of EE.
We watched this little guy for quite a while too.

It was now time for us to take a trip back in time…

Having fun with hats…

I had to post this one..my DH looks so creepy…yikes! :scared1:
He is not going to be happy!

We decided we had just about had enough of the heat and we were ready for a nap but we still had those EE FPs so we HAD to ride one more time…
Here is another redneck picture…

and still more fun with hats…

On our way out we ran across these adorable characters….

Once the sun started to set the temperature wasn't quite so bad...:goodvibes

Up next an evening at EPCOT and The Wave for dinner…

I LOVE your EE pics! I am so hooked on that ride - I got to sit in the front seat back in December when I was solo for a few days and videotaped it. I got a FP and was going to go back on but was tired & never made it back - now I wish I had. (My first ride on it was in Feb 2008 with my DBFF & it was so much fun!)

Your kids are so cute! Love the brother-sisterly hugs - and the idea of the canvas bag was great!

We all love EE too! It is a great coaster. :thumbsup2
My DS says, as a rule, the front of a coaster is for views, the middle is to experience the G's and the back is for speed and air time. Whether or not that is correct...I am not sure.:confused3 but it sounds good.

As far as the bag goes, thanks..I hope I have a picture to post. It turned out really cute!

You are braver than I am! I've only ridden Everest once, and it was enough for me for a good while. I'll probably ride again someday, but I'm in no hurry. I thought it was a little wild, but I have heard some people say they thought Big Thunder Mountain was worse, and I think that's mild in comparison. Funny how people view rides differently.

The tote bag is a great idea! Brooklynn already has multiple autograph books, so we may try that one day soon. I look forward to seeing yours.

That fruit plate is perfect for a hot AK day. We get that often. The chicken has always been good for us, but the ribs have been off and on - better sometimes than others. That whole Flame Tree area smells delicious as you walk by!

Disney napping is some good hard napping. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the next update. We have not yet been to The Wave.

Your pictures (especially the food!) are beautiful!

Question: What did you do with the tote bag when you were walking around the park? I couldn't see it in any pictures.

I am fine on roller coasters and dropping/ up - down rides but I HATE spinning. Sometimes the carousel will make me dizzy and I am terrified on Asto Orbiter. I promised my kids I would try it again in Oct.

I agree with you on this...I do not really care for that BBQ. I think we will try pizzafari next time. :confused:Have you ever eaten there? If so, what do you think?

Yes...the best!:thumbsup2

How is the knee doing? I hope all is going well and you are feeling much better. I have to hop over to your TR and catch up again...

Hi Denise,
As far as the kids go...you should see them when we are at home. constant... you know what I mean? A friend of mine summed it up; she said, "Having kids is like being slowly pecked to death by a chicken." It's true...
But overall they are really good kids!

We kept the tote bag in a large plastic bag in the backpack. It wasn't difficult just a little bulky. If I ever did it again I would bring 2 or 3 pieces of thick cardboard (to make the bag stiff for the signatures) and change it out every 2 or 3 days. By the end of our trip the cardboard was ratty and kinda bent up all over. I'll post some pics later...

Thanks for reading.:goodvibes

Awww! Thanks TopDog! I am thrilled you are reading. I enjoyed your TR so much.
My photos are no where near yours but I do love taking pictures. I would love to go to WDW and just spend time shooting pics but you can't do that too much when you are traveling with kids. My kids give me grief about taking pictures... They are always saying I take too many...blah, blah, blah. :sad2: I hope that when they are older they will appreciate it and perhaps they will become avid picture takers themselves.:rolleyes1

Take care!

On to Epcot….

After our restful and cooling afternoon nap we woke up and headed to Epcot for some fun. As soon as we arrived I had to get a family picture…
DSC_0828.jpg

The photopass photographer saw our Anniversary buttons and wanted to take one of just my DH and I. :lovestruc Insert some romantic music here…I am thinking Barry White. :laughing:I look like I am ready to burst with laughter…I think I was a little embarrassed.

DSC_0832.jpg

I really would like this photo if it wasn’t so dark. I loved the monorail décor during the YOAMD campaign.

DSC_0834.jpg

We did the Nemo ride and spent some time wandering around The Living Seas.
:fish: After going under the sea we wanted to head into outer space….

(I love this rare picture of my kids – they are almost holding hands.)

DSC_0845.jpg

It was almost a full moon and I really tried to capture the beauty of the night. Of course, pictures rarely do nature justice but I liked the full moon, clouds with the Mission to Mars building.

DSC_0847-1.jpg

We always do the green aka chicken version. I am terrified of the orange/spinning side of this ride.
As we are waiting to board our rocket ship…
DSC_0855.jpg

After we were safely back on planet earth we decided it was time for Test Track…that’s right we felt the need for speed. :car:
DSC_0863.jpg

DSC_0877.jpg

Test Track is definitely one of our family favorites. We all love the outside, high speed part.

It was getting close to time for our dinner reservations at The Wave which is located at the CR. So we left Epcot via the monorail.

The Wave was a fairly new restaurant at the time (of our trip) and we hadn’t read many reviews. We didn't know what to expect but we had a very nice meal. The thing that I remember most was the incredible staff…super attentive and very thoughtful. :thumbsup2

DH had soup (not sure of the type), we shared sticky wings, and onion rings with various dipping sauces.

DSC_0888.jpg

DSC_0889.jpg

DSC_0890.jpg

Our entrees…
DH had the seafood pasta dish..
DSC_0894.jpg

I had a steak with mashed potatoes…
DSC_0891.jpg

DS had BBq ribs…
DSC_0893.jpg

DD also had a steak with potatoes and green beans & carrots. (This was one her better kid meals of the trip)
DSC_0895.jpg

Then came the delicious desserts.

I had the butterfinger cheesecake…
DSC_0896.jpg

DS and DH each got the chocolate cake…
DSC_0897.jpg

And DD had.....SURPRISE! A make your own ice cream sundae. Hopefully, Disney has improved upon their kid’s meals and at least has some different options. I mean it was always the same topping and always vanilla ice cream…they could at least change that up a bit. It was pretty boring for DD but of course, we all would share with her whenever she wanted. And how bad can ice cream be?
DSC_0898.jpg

Like I said earlier the staff here was super. The manager came out to see how our meal was and he noticed our anniversary buttons. He asked us how many years we were married. We told him we were celebrating our 20th! He said you have to have a picture taken so he went to get a camera (polaroid). He came back over to our table and took our picture and gave it to us in a nice folder with signed wishes from the staff. (This picture holds some significance later on).:woohoo: We enjoyed our dinner here very much. :thumbsup2

We left the Wave feeling absolutely stuffed. I think we must have waddled up to the monorail as we made our way back to ASMu. We were more than ready for sleep when we got back.

Up next…an almost empty Worldshowcase, Tony’s, Spectomagic and fall finally arrives...:woohoo:

The Wave sounds absolutely yummy. We've got an ADR there for November and can't wait to try it!

I had a steak with mashed potatoes…
DSC_0891.jpg

Oooooh myyyy! That looks so good!

Your Mission Space picture is great! I will never ride either side. I have watched it on youtube, and I saw how closed in it is.

That's a cute picture of the kids chumming it up. Just don't show it to their friends, right? ;)
