We just booked The Wave for our upcoming trip for dinner. It was the only ressie available for 9 people.
Has anyone been? How is the food? Worth the price? I was thinking of having the beef tenderlion, is it good?

Thanks for any input.

Just had dinner there on September 25. DW, BFF and I absolutely loved it. The room itself is beautiful, kind of chic and upscale yet very comfortable. Each of us had the crab cake appetizer. Outstanding. BFF had the salmon special and really liked it (and he is more of a "meat" guy than a "fish" guy). DW had the beef tenderloin - she really liked it and shared it with me. It was memorable. I had the braised lamb shank - 26 oz. of bliss. We were all so full that we skipped dessert.

Service was attentive but not intrusive. It was extremely good and we will be back. Soon...

Went there on 8/25 . Had the Filet. It was really good. We all loved our food.
Would definately go back.:thumbsup2

Our TA got us a dinner reservation here and even though the reviews are great, I'm not sure about it, it seems a little too fancy. Do you think the kids would enjoy it? They are 9, & 6?

Not real fancy. Your kids will be fine. There were tons of kids in there.

The beef tenderloin is delicious. The food is very good. We really enjoyed it.
We have had an evening in the lounge with apps and wine and an evening in the dining room. We liked them both.

Management and kitchen staff are a little slow, but hopefully that is worked out before you get there.

You will enjoy it!

We just ate there this past Friday night. We LOVED the decor in the entryway and bar area, but the actual dining room just didn't do anything for us. If it had been more in blue tones rather than the browns/oranges it would have fit in better. When I think ocean and "wave" I think blue.

I had the Filet, DH had the Black Cod, and our friend had the Flank Steak. For starters we had the Lettuce Wraps and the Navy Bean soup. Dessert was the 'Crispy and Crunchy' - vanilla-braised pineapple spears, almond-pineapple-raisin baklava, zucchini-carrot cake with vanilla panna cotta.

The appetizers and entree's were great, the dessert not so much.

I have not been yet but all the reviews I have read have been very positive. I wish I could fit it into my schedule next month but it will have to wait for the spring

we went 9/2/2008. Kids will do fine in there, service is fast & good and it's not ultra-fancy-schmancy. Just a little bit upscale...but still fun. Like you can order milkshakes as your DDP drink with your meal.

Loved the filets. And the desserts are fabulous (there are 3 trios you can choose from, so very fun to each order a different trio & share. Each "trio" is like a two-bite serving.)

here's the link to my review from our September trip...there's pictures! On page 3, starting with post #36

We ate there 9/21 and it was wonderful. We both ordered the tenderloin:

which was served with a salad w/a vinagrette dressing, oven dried tomatoes, and fingerling potatoes.

Desserts were...fabulous. They originally let you mix and match any three of the dessert items, but they no longer do that, and you have to select one sampler. But DH and I ordered Creamy Indulgence (cheesecake with raspberry coulis, coconut panna cotta with passion fruit drizzle, chocolate pasion fruit mousse with pecan-olive brittle) and Decadent Flavors (blueberry compote with yogurt gelato, lemon cornbread with vanilla panna cotta, chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce). There was enough for us to each get two bites of everything, and they were amazing:

It's on our "definitely do" list for next trip :goodvibes

This one was one of the fastest TS we had for our 14 night trip. The service was great. So nice that with small children we weren't waiting for the food for long periods.

My neighbours (we travelled together) said they were not going to attend the dinner at the Wave. I cancelled their ADR and 10 min later they arrived (changed their mind) and were able to be seated near my niece and I. They also agreed that it was one of the best meals we had.

I had the beef tenderloin and it was the best steak I had while dining at WDW. I did find the salad had too much vinegrette on it and let my neighbour know-she ordered her's on the side. I did not like my dessert that much-I wish I could pick any three samples as I could not find one of the selections that had all 3 that I would like.

The only problem I had was my niece is lactose intollerant and I ordered her the pasta and sauce without the cheese. It was served with cheese and I quickly removed it from her spot and the server quickly returned with the correct one. I was a tad paranoid and while we were in the washroom, our desert arrived and the server had left chocolate sauce with the Tofutti ice-cream and I removed that from her spot also, until I had confirmation from the server that it was dairy free.

We're booked for Xmas eve dinner. Can't wait ! :woohoo:

Most all of the reviews I've read have been positive.

I like the 'today's sustainable fish' entree on the menu. I've never seen that, before....
