Trying to decide between the two of these. Any thoughts are appreciated

Totally different places. CP is a really fun and child friendly character meal and a buffet. The food is pretty good and the restaurant is bright and happy. We have always had fun there and its a frequent repeat for us. The Wave is good in its own right. Its not really a fun or child pleasing place, thought kids are certainly fine there and we have certainly taken ours. For us its a good escape if we need to get away from the park for a bit. Food is quite good and service very good. They are not usually overly busy and its been a good last minute choice for us.

We have been to both and enjoyed both. They are completely different so I don't think it is a fair comparison. One is a casual sit down restaurant and the other is a character buffet. Each has their own perks. If you are doing other character buffets then I would go with the wave. Also if you are looking for a little time to decompress from the park the wave is a good choice. If you were looking for a fun place with plenty of food options and were with kids that wanted to do a character meal then Crystal is a great option for that. It really depends on what you are looking to do for this meal. I doubt you will be disappointed with either one.

We thought the food at The Wave was really good! Especially the pink Himalayan sea salted butter that came with our bread. YUM!

The Wave is a hidden gem. Food is very good! Love the atmosphere too. But its true that these are two totally different places. If you want characters and the convenience of being inside MK, then go for CP. Great food and atmosphere. But if you want a really good meal in a fancier atmosphere, go for the Wave. Personally i'd go for the wave, but it all depends on your party. Any small kids? Or is it just adults?

Rich....Crystal Palace is one of our faves.....it's good...and for kids....it's real fun. We just went to the Wave last time....quick walk from the Magic Kingdom...and WOW....food and service were phenomenal!!!! Although portions are on the smaller side and if we were not on the DDP....I would've been mildly annoyed!

We love The Wave, and for quality of food, we go with it over CP. BUUUUUUTTTTT....

You lose quite a bit of time if you're planning on coming back to MK after your meal. It's a 10 minute walk at a fairly brisk pace....longer on very tired feet. Plus, the time on getting back through security and the gate. Monorail can be shorter to The Wave if you catch one waiting at the station, but will be longer on the return trip.

Although many are fans of leaving a park and coming back after your meal, we're just not. We plan our resort meals for arrival days and early park closing days. Your mileage may vary.

Just another thing to think about.

We loved the Wave! Especially the bread service. My husband heard a rumor that it had been discontinued though - does anyone know if this is true?

I am traveling with my 15 and 16 year old nephews. We are going to 1 character meal prior to this day although the characters at CP would be different. Original plan was to go to both but when AK hours where extended I figured it would be better to eat at Yak n Yeti at AK then trying to rush after park closing to the Wave so now I am stuck with choosing between the two. Would anyone say that they would give up Yak n Yeti or even Via Napoli to eat at both? I am on the Dining Plan if that would influence others choices
