I had been leaning team VDH but now I’m for sure back on team VGC full stop after last nights stay at VDH and todays park day. Still happy with my VDH ownership though.

Yes! Several of us Disboarders chose this weekend it seems.

I usually always sleep well at Disney hotels. First, it was the marijuana smell, which I get people wanna have fun and stuff but I can’t believe the vent system is so connected! Then the bed was super uncomfortable. Also It was either really hot or really cold in the room no in between. Woke up at least 20 times during the night. I also felt the disconnectedness of the tower again this trip. VGC just felt so homey and VDH did not. Even with all the people in the VGC lobby. And I just wasn’t loving the walk this time. I’m actually typing this out on my long stroll back to the room right now.

I’m sure my next stay here will be better but oh how I wish VGC had more rooms.

Bed was uncomfortable...too hard? Too soft? I'm super picky about mattresses and rarely like hotel ones, sadly.

Interesting about the walk. I'm assuming I would hate the walk worse in the summer when it's super hot. And unfortunately, I feel like VDH seems like the better summer hotel for the "vibe" while VGC seems more cozy and wintery.

Leaving for the airport in an hour and a half. I hate flying so much. And my son was having a rough night and upset about the trip. Please send positive vibes my way.

I remember having a hard time sleeping my first trip to VDH when we were in the HA 1bd…. to be fair it was also the final signal that I needed to go to some physical therapy.

Subsequent stays in a studio and duo garden ADA were just fine.

Just completed a 7-night stay in a studio at VGC. Shower head was clean and worked well, did not notice any stickiness on the top of the chest of drawers. Room was overall in great shape. And as a bonus, I think we got the best view at the resort. Had not made any requests, and was assigned room 6504 at check-in. Here’s the view from our balcony:

Did you sleep on the real bed or the pull down?

The real bed. Maybe just a one off bad mattress. The temp was better last night, slept without blanket or sheet.

It was a little crazy - we were not expecting it at all, and found that it had a better view of World of Color than the viewing platform down the hall. And it seemed like every day we noticed something else interesting we could see in the distance.
