The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

I would prefer they keep the current cabinets and tiles and whatnot instead of putting in something cheap. But they could probably do something to refinish it and make the tops of some things less sticky.

I honestly doubt whatever they are doing in late 2026 is the bathrooms. But I'd be pleasantly surprised if that was the case. I mainly want new shower heads and a non-jetted tub in the 1-bedroom.

OK, I'm booked, and I received the registration confirmation email. Now I'm wondering if I should attend for my other DVC homes (RIV, BLT, VGF), but don't want to spend all day there.

I have a fixed week 49 contract at RIV, so if the association meetings are always around this time of year, maybe I'll become a regular. I'll have to brush up on my fighting skills.
How long did it take to receive the confirmation? I signed up to attend the CA meeting but no guarantees I will actually make it (on call Monday night).

Adding my thanks to Sloth for representing us!

I’m realllllly hoping this is a round two for the bathrooms to be refurbished. Whether it was the plan along or they heard us…. It is welcome. I can live with the outdated furniture and Spanish tile if we have to. It adds to the woodsy feel I guess.
Yeah I want new clean wallpaper and new showers. I can live with the existing bathroom counters all the rest is fine, just hire someone reputable to fix the stickiness.

Well this is an oddball question. I thought about attending the BLT association meeting in addition to VGC. My VGC is an Aug. UY with one membership number, and my BLT/RIV/VGF is an Oct. UY with a different membership number. When you register for an association meeting, you have to enter your membership number in addition to name, phone #, email addr.

When I tried to register for BLT after I had registered for VGC, it errored out with "You are already registered for this event. Please click submit again to update your registration. Updating your registration will replace your previous selections. Please make sure to reselect all your desired meetings."

How do people with multiple UYs and membership numbers attend? Maybe I'm too paranoid that they'll not confirm by email, or even turn me away in person if I enter the wrong one.

@Sandisw might now the answer to this

Just wanted to post the dates and times that DVC is doing member updates these days in California:

Friday 11am
Sunday 11am

Each session is 30 minutes and they're now held at the VDH.
Do you get the little bag for going or is there another gift? I'll be at VGC next month and might make time for this.

I got the drawstring bag with buttons, lanyards, wooden coaster, etc. when I stopped by the DVC office at VGC yesterday. I'll post after Sunday's meeting what they give out there.

When we have stayed on the hotel side, the chairs near the Napa rose elevators always have people sleeping in them too. It’s so weird and off putting.

I don't think people should be full on sleeping in the general areas (if we really need a quick nap to recharge why not go use those amazing lounge chairs by the pool - the best of any Disney resort), but sometimes the enforcement is a bit rough.

People can have rough travels into Disneyland. For those of us just close enough to drive, we have gotten stuck more than a few times because that Camry/Altima decided they wanted to play tag with a semi on the Cajon Pass. I've seen my mom get not so nicely asked if she was a guest within a few seconds after she closed her eyes to relax and collect her sanity after we just dropped off our bags and were gathering to go find something to eat. I had great joy showing that security CM that we indeed did have a reservation and we would be checking into the Grand Villa later that day.....

My irrational mood killer that I would vote as most off putting is the family with the novice scooter driver that are walking 5/6 across at a snails pace though the door and along the entire path between the gift shop and the Napa elevators creating a traffic jam.
