The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

So i keep running into issues on max amount of images to host... Thoughts on how to host more images?
The problem with hosting is the host goes dark & images disappear, so hosting them on "TheDis" is best, but the limit is 10 per post.
google photos maybe?

Sadly any links I've accidently linked from google photos in my trip reports always break after some amount of time. I've had to go back and fix them with disboards hosting to fix that.
Oh! That hasn't happened to me yet, I went back to a 2019 trip report and the pics are still there. I use https://www.labnol.org/embed/google/photos/ to generate a link for the pics.

Testing out a google photo link, it may be a glitchy thing. Here's the view from 5508, a 1BR suite:

Feel free to delete this question, if it's in the wrong place. We're staying in a 2 bedroom villa in February on points. We have our breakeven spreadsheet and we're trying to figure out the rack rate. 2025 booking dates just opened up for Disneyland. Are the DVC rooms the normal 2 Bedroom Suites? There's a couple of categories on the site, Arcadia & Arroyo Signature Suites, just wanted to check to get the numbers correct. TIA!!!!!

Yea, i think i need to use Images from TheDis that way if their server is up, most likely the images will be too. At least better odds than anywhere else.

The DVC 2-bedrooms are not the same as any of the signature suites (which are really nice but are different; for instance, no laundry). You could still do that comparison but know that it's not apples too apples. If you can find VGC cash rates that would be better, but that might be hard.

What I would do is compare with normal cash rooms (not suites). Like, what would you book if you didn't have DVC? Maybe 2 or 3 rooms? Compare that--you'll still come out ahead and you have all the amenities of a 2BR like a kitchen and laundry!

It's very hard to get the "as close to the same" cash side room to price out on the hotel side as very often they aren't ever open to book for more than a few days at a time and you really have to hunt and look for a day that is open to get a price quote for one of the "standard" suites. I normally see prices in the 1500 to low 2000s per night for that room. And as @Duckbug.Ducktales noted, it's going to be missing a lot of the perks of the DVC villa such as the kitchen.

The 2BR units at VGC are awesome.

We had one of my wife’s friends from college come and stay with us for two nights as a last minute addition. She slept on the fold out and used the 3rd full bathroom.

I am not kidding when I say that I barely knew she was staying there because we all had so much space.

The island in the kitchen is another absolute gem. My wife noted that 2 bed villas at other resorts don’t have a lot of prep space.

That's what I've been doing. I actually make 2 comparisons. What the cost would be if we stayed on-site...so for us, that would be just a regular Grand Californian room. And then I look at what I would have paid if we stayed off site on Harbor (obviously this would be less but I still find it interesting.)

We have a stay coming up in about 6 months. Is there a good recommendation on timing to make room requests? Also is it better to make these requests over the phone or will the chat option work ok?

Now. I made my request for a December stay back in April. You can just chat with MS to add it to your reservation.

I’m sure there is a link for room requests somewhere, but I’m curious as to the best way and time to make those requests?

*edit*
I really should have read the last couple of posts before I made this one. lol
