The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

They already have them in the 1/2 bd villas…. they just weren’t replaced and the hardware is pretty beat up.
So far, I've only stayed in studios in VGC. Our next stay, we're bringing some friends and will be staying in a 1BR, with a 9 y.o. skinny kid as the one who will be staying in the fold down bed under the TV. Hopefully it will be fine for someone so small & light. Sorry I didn't ask about this in more detail without having experienced it myself yet.

Just wrapped up my very jam packed WDW trip. Catching up while waiting in MCO.

Sadly no mushroom insight...Bill Dierksen and the rest of the bigwigs in Florida did most of the answering in Q&A. Nic gave us a pretty bland comment about preserving the Craftsman style of the rooms and being proud of the general improvements the resort is going through (Napa Rose, etc.) since he is in charge of both the hotel/DVC side.

I'm paraphrasing the question here (can't remember if this was a @Flash_Sloth one), but they were asked about how we ensure our dues are not being used for hotel-side upkeep. We got a very canned answer from Florida about an allocation process where common costs are allocated and nobody is contributing to "Disney owned commercial spaces."

He didn't give off Dan Coleman vibes as described by @Wedgeout, but he strikes me as one who would be receptive to input if you came across him on your visit.
Yes, I was the one who asked that question. That might have been as good as an answer as they could give on the spot, and without details, I couldn't really pinpoint questions about this expense vs. that expense, etc. We all hope that they're managing our dues well.

I’m sure it will be fine as long as the hardware is working.

100%!!!!!

Before showing the new AKV to my husband, I pulled up a video of it pre-refurb and showed him the bathroom first and he said "looks like VGC." Then I showed him the new bathroom. We are really hoping they do something like that for ours! I think they can easily keep the Craftsman style and vibe while updating. They've managed to keep the same style at all the other hard good refurbs, I think!

My 5’7” 17 year old sleeps on them just fine when our 20 year old joins us, so I’m sure your 9 year old won’t have any issues 👍🏼

Sometimes I look at availability, just for fun. Any idea why there would be no 1-bedrooms available on October 10th? Something special must be happening but not sure what.

Probably just the busy week.

I just tried to book 3 nights in a Studio at 11 months and could only get 2. That's crazy to me.
