Lighting Lane Question:

Can you modify or book a lighting lane while outside the park if you have already checked in for the day?

There's no geofencing, only criteria is that you entered a (or the) park.
Was hoping that’s how it worked… but.

So if I am at a football game in the afternoon, I can stack my lighting lanes?
As I understood you all have to enter the park then it’s Wild West. Thats why my plan is to go down early then come back up to the room, but I guess that means I have to wrangle everyone up to enter the park then we can all go back to the room? lol

oh and I always grab a lightning lane for any attraction that is currently down (happens so frequently at Disneyland and DCA) if the lightning lane return is soon. It's a gamble, but frequently, the ride will still be down when my lightning lane time comes up so it turns into an experience redemption pass that you can use at numerous places. If the ride comes back up and I don't actually want to ride it, then I modify to something else.

It is actually open to anyone. They have never checked us. That being said, getting through the security gate from Pixar to VGC does require a room key, which pretty much locks out anyone else.
I feel like this is disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing. The security gate to enter is only open to on-property guests.

No they don’t check to see if you are staying on property once last the security gate. They could always decide to check in the future.

It still feels like a VIP VGC entrance, but VDH people can use it and are not “second class citizens”.

No, plenty of people who come for breakfast etc. that aren't hotel guests can use that entrance without being checked.
The entrance isn't controlled, but access to the hotel in general kind of is.
