If they have the parking lot super far away...would they provide any kind of shuttle or anything? I feel like all of the options are super far, especially for anyone with mobility issues.

Most people with mobility issues would have a handicap placard. With the handicap placard, a guest can valet park at the self park rates. So since there is no charge for DVC self parking when staying on points, there is no charge for the valet parking. We have done this for many years. If this was not the case, I would drop my Mom and all the stuff including the wheelchair at the front entrance and then drive across the street (or wherever) to park the car.

I wouldn’t get too concerned about Avatar at DLR just yet, based on this post from the News & Rumors board -
Disneyland Resort “Avatar Experience” Will Be Located at Disney California Adventure Park

Disney has revealed that the previously announced Avatar experience will be located at Disney California Adventure theme park. The announcement came during an IAAPA Lunch & Learn event with Walt Disney Imagineering

*Update: A Disneyland official reached out earlier today to say there was no announcement made on behalf of Disneyland Resort regarding the location of the Avatar experience. It's unclear exactly what was said during the panel - or if someone misspoke or someone misheard.*

Building Permit: BLD2023-04479
GCH - Suite 100 - Room 1508/1510 - Tenant Improvement: Install (2) murphy bed/couch systems with new wall anchorage.

Perhaps these are tests for upcoming renovation.
Anyone staying in 1508 or 1510, please post some photos

Someone on Facebook just posted a photo of a Murphy bed at VGC today.

I was in room 1506 Friday

So I'm still fairly new to all of the DVC stuff. With renovations, is it common to 'test' elements in a room like this?

Also, I had no idea you needed to file a permit for something like this. Interesting.

The person who took the photo said there was no headboard artwork inside. I hope when they do the renovation, they add a cute picture like in the other resorts.

I’m sure the remodel will be beautiful.
They did a great job with Poly, SSR, Boulder Ridge, etc.

I was watching a video on the Poly DVC studios earlier and the fact that they didn’t blast the rooms with Moana like they did the regular hotel gives me hope….

It’s interesting that the headboards are different for the queen beds and the king beds… I never noticed that before…

It’s also interesting that the color looks blueish to me and could mean they will move to some lighter/cooler colors as opposed to the current darker/warm colors.

I'm nervous about that blue couch. Hopefully it's not a sign of lighter/cooler colors. I think they could lighten the walls but they need to keep the dark wood. I'd be sad to see things lightened a lot. I haven't been in the DVC rooms at all yet. But I loved the feel of the Grand Cal hotel room we were in and the warm/cozy feel was a big reason I wanted to buy DVC. I'd be sad to lose that.

We'll be in a BRV in January which seems a lot cooler/lighter so we'll see how I feel about that since I do wonder if they will go that way with VGC.

It’s worth noting that the wood box the Murphy bed is in matches the current wood color of the rest of the room.

I bet my eldest son wishes they had these in the 1Bd when we were there last month.

Good point. That makes me feel better!

And yeah....typically in hotels my son and husband share a bed because I always stay up later to read or look at my phone for a while. But I think next summer, if it's still the sofa beds, we'll just stick my son on that by himself. I don't know if our 40+ year old bodies could handle it...especially after long days in the park!

Sounds like your family needs a 1 bedroom 😏

LOL, it’s hard to go back to a studio after a one-bedroom. I love the tile work and wallpaper border in the master bath, the tile work and details in the mirror frame in the hallway bath, and all the Mickey cutout in the wood brackets. Not to mention the table lamps! 😍
