Not all the standard views are roofs and parking lot. Actually I guess you could say our last room was technically parking lot, but with all the trees, you couldn’t see it. We were facing front of resort, and I quite liked it. Good people watching, lol. Watching all the comings and goings.

And some standard views at AK have partial views of the Savanna. But if you stayed there one time and got one of those lucky rooms, then stayed another time and got a parking lot view as advertised, you wouldn’t have a basis to complain that you should be able to see the Savannah.

I think we had that room on our last trip this past April. Needless to say I was upset because it was our first trip back in so long! The front desk tried to upgrade us but there was nothing available because it was Easter week. They told us to carry on with our plans and they would figure it out.. we were in Epcot when we got the new room number text. It was still a standard room but facing the front, when we returned from the parks I was thrilled! We were surrounded by trees, I would have kept the original room but I’m so glad they sprinkled some pixie dust for us. That trip was amazing and was exactly what we needed after 2020.

True, we got one of those rooms with partial savannah view and was thrilled. But if you don’t like a view I see nothing wrong with asking if you could be moved to a different room, just don’t touch anything in the room and go straight down to desk to see if change is possible.
