The Vampire Diaries On The CW

I just found this thread and I have to admit I LOVE this show!!!! I have always loved vampire stuff for some reason and I absolutely love Damon the most. If I sound like a teenager I am sorry since I am 37 years old:rotfl: I watch the show every week with my two daughters who love it as well. Am I the only one that wants Damon and Elena to be together? I'm sure it won't happen but I can always hope:lovestruc God I am such a dork!

If you're a dork, color me one, too.

I like how this show moves along so quickly yet still gives us a cliffhanger at the end of each episode.

Yes, Damon and Elena should be together. When he professed his love for her last week, I melted. Then he had to go and glamour her. I wonder if somehow the verbain won't allow that memory to come back to her. Stefan is so boring compared to Damon.

If it makes you feel any better, rumor has it they ARE together IRL.

On an unrelated note -- this past weekend I went to a "Firefly"/various other Joss Whedon shows convention and one of the writers on the panel is a current writer for "The Vampire Diaries". I was able to meet him and ask a few questions. I didn't ask about any future spoilers (I assumed he would give me any anyway!) but I did ask when they came up with the doppelganger angle of the storyline. They are currently writing episode 12. And #9 -- the episode that airs this week-- was written by the guy I met. :)

I felt the same way, my heart was all fluttery! I always feel so bad for Damon cause everyone hates him, I know he was really bad before but he's better now!;) The episode when Catherine and Elena both told him they loved Stefan I was so upset, but then he went and tried to kill Jeremy. I just love Thursday nights between VD, Greys Anatomy and Private Practice! Boo it's only Tuesday:mad:

How close are the books to the tv show?

I want Damon and Elena together too. Last week's episode with him proclaiming his love to her was so sweet. And the tear that fell down his face when he was compelling her to forget... :sad1:

The books are completely different.

The concept behind it is the same . A love triangle between a girl and 2 brothers and how this girl, Elena, looks exactly the same as the girl who turned the brothers into vampires many, many years ago but other than that, the show and book are very different.

Are the books any good? I'm always looking for something new to read. :confused3

I'm part of the Damon/Elena fan club. I was in tears after last week's episode.

Can't wait for tomorrow's episode!!

I feel the television series is a million times better than the books.

Have you looked into the Vampire Academy series? I think that's a better read, within the same genre, as Vampire Diaries.

The first few books are pretty good but then they get a little ridiculous IMHO.

I figured I would read the books again to remember a little history about the originals and Klaus but I had to stop. Too many differences, it was annoying.

Vampire Academy series is awesome! :thumbsup2

I am so ready for a new episode on Thursday!

Half naked Damon =

I'm a bit confused though by everything that they are throwing at us (new characters like the warlock doctor, how to break the curse, etc).

The first week of december is too long to wait for a new episode!

Half naked Damon is definately a good thing! I know what you mean about being confused, it is a bit hard to follow and my daughters are always asking questions about this or that. I hate when they do that break but I knew it was coming because they did it last year too in the fall and again in the spring:mad:

Last nite was awesome! I love how they spin the web of the story and you just wish they would make the episode longer than an hour or get rid of those commericals! Damon is so stinkin hot - with his shirt on or off! smokin!
Anyway I am wondering if the warlock is really not a warlock at all but the eldest vampire (whatever his name is) and he is so powerful that Bonnie can't see it. It is def. getting more interesting each week. Can't wait til 12-2!

I was thinking the same thing! His name is Claus (don't think I spelled that right)
