The Vampire Diaries On The CW

I used to work with a bunch of men who were very knowledgable about witchcraft. They always told me that calling a male witch a warlock isn't in good form. They always told me that all witches are witches.

Anyone know if this is true?

At Hogwarts they are wizards. :wizard:

;)

While I am throughly enjoying the show, I feel like they are throwing too much at us in too short of a time period. We have been introduced to so many new characters lately that it is getting hard to keep track.

I did however love the scene between Katherine and Elena. I thought it helped clear up so many questions and created a few new ones for me.

I still have the 12/2 Vampire Diaries ep saved on my Tivo, so I better watch it this weekend - are new episodes starting again next week?

In regards to TruBlu's comment, I got the Harry Potter books for Christmas and was reading book #5 last week, and JK uses the word "warlock" a couple of times in Chapter 22. I am currently in book #6, and this word has been used again (chapter 10 I think). I am pretty sure they didn't use the word in the movies.....I am not sure why she uses the word "warlock" in stead of the usual witches and wizards; the reference in book #5 was a person that Harry noticed in the waiting room at the wizarding hospital.... :confused3

I would be interested to read JK Rowlings "British Version" of Harry Potter to see if there are differences with text.

Remember it is the "Sorcerer's Stone" in US as opposed to "Philosopher's Stone" in UK.

In "modern day" it is more associated with "dark" magic in that a warlock can be male or female, like in "World of Warcraft".

IN the end you can use them interchangeably however I think it all boils down to the type of "magic" the person wields as to the description of the person.

You would assume "warlock" was "dark" magic today as opposed to way back when "Bewitched" was on, and her male counterparts were "warlocks".

I did not watch last night....My dd took over my TV watching old Dr. Who. She finally discovered my Netflix Streaming....

Vampire Diaries is back!!!:cool1::cool1:

Holy crap, what an episode!! All the doublecrosses and triplecrosses- I could barely keep up with who was lying to who.

Poor Caroline- Matt and Sheriff Forbes are in cahoots. I hope she doesn't end up staked.

Alaric is being posessed by Klaus!! I actually yelled, "Noooooo!!" at my TV when he rose up and said hello to Katherine in his Klaus-y accent. I fear this means it's the end for Alaric...

Damon- how dumb was it to keep the moonstone in the soapdish?? Has anyone on this show not heard of renting a safebox to keep valuable objects in?

Jenna still doesn't know the truth about Isobel and all the other supernatural stuff going on around town. She looked devastated about Alaric's wife being around. Uncle Jon getting decked by Ric was awesome!

Finally, the Salvatore brothers wised up and deeded their house to a mortal (Elena). No more pesky evil vamps just waltzing in whenever they feel like it...

The new episode was amazing. I loved all the double crosses.

I too thought it was dumb of Damon to keep the moonstone in the soap dish but seeing him half naked when he figured out that Katherine had found it was a highlight.

I love that they are finally putting the Salvatore house in Elena's name to give her a safe place to hide. It is the smartest thing those brothers have done.

I still think that Uncle Jon is up to something. He may not have known what Isobel was doing (I am so shocked she killed herself), but he has plans of his own.

Klaus taking over Alaric's body is going to be interesting. My question though is Alaric dead? What will happen to him because they drained his body of blood and eventually Klaus will have to show up in person.

last nights show was AMAZING! Especially the last 20 minutes. I can't believe Isobel killed herself and Alric! OMG! Also, Elania is calling the shots more now, she has those Salvatore brothers wrapped around her finger. LOVE IT!!! Also Caroline's secrets are out. Matt and her mom knows all about her, but I'm curious if Caroline told them about Elaina and the Salvatores. Waiting for iTunes to add last nights show so I can add it to my iPod. Can't wait for next week!

Yeah the Klaus/Ric thing confused me. if Klaus has been chasing katherine for 500 years, where is he?

Isabelle is usually 2 steps ahead, so I get her sacrifice, but am wondering what her motive was to pick Ric. this left me with a lot of questons that can't be solved by looking at Damon in just his low slung jeans, but since I Tivo'd it, I will have to keep trying... ( :rotfl: )

I am also wondering how much Caroline told Matt. I am hopeing that she mentioned the whole thing with her mom being in the basement of the salvatore's and the bonding she did with her daughter.

Jenna needs to be told the truth, but I am going to guess that won't happen with Ric being Klaus.

I wiffled back and forth about Jon last night. Sometimes I feel sorry for him, even though he's a jerk. Nobody likes him, so why is he there?

*bolding is mine

I think I will make that sacrifice as well. :lmao:

I wonder too about how much Matt now knows and how it will effect the rest of the season.

Jenna has been in the dark for far too long and I can see her getting hurt especially with Klaus in Ric's body.

I also am never sure how I feel about Jon. There were moments when I thought his intentions were sincere but then I remember it is Jon and think he is manipulating everyone.

Okay I neeeeed more Damon/Elena interaction!

The werewolf/vampire hybrid reminded me of Underworld!

I really like Elijah. I hope he turns out to be telling the truth.

I sacrificed myself and rewatched it this morning.

I am still in awe over the whole werewolf/vampire Klaus thing. How did he even become a vampire if he was already a werewolf?

I was also shocked to find out that Elijah and Klaus are brothers and that Elijah was in love with Katherine. I am not sure if I completely trust him or not.

I am assuming that the werewolf curse was triggered when he made his first vampire kill.

Does anyone know where I can watch the episodes from the beginning of the season? I have the last 8 episodes DVR'd....but the 5 before that are missing and I really, really want to catch up!! I checked on the CW homepage, but they only have the last 5 or so episodes to view. I miss watching The Vampire Diaries, but I do not want to start watching after missing 5 episodes. Thanks for the help!!

You may need to wait for the DVDs and rent them, for that. Unfortunately, the episodes will not be rerun again on CW this year... they were originally broadcast in September but then rerun already in December.
