Not in the morning. We should have gotten there earlier and had better plans for lunch. But we managed just fine....I only had one meltdown. lol You might have a problem with the boys and the midway....all those games and rides that cost extra money! How would Alex do with the animals that are EVERYWHERE??

SOOOOO cute!

Adorable. :)

Very cute. Sounds like a fun weekend. :)

Such cutie pies sitting on the tractor! :goodvibes

Toooo cute!!!

Love the pix!

We haven't been to a county fair in years... I always remember it being so very hot, though. Looks like you had great weather!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend, nice and relaxing-yet productive. Love the pictures of your kiddos "driving" the tractors!

How did I not know you had a PTR going on? Can't wait to hear all about your plans. I can't believe how big the kids are getting!

We did have great weather. It was cool in the morning but then warmed up. I always seem to go all summer long without getting a sun burn then I get one in September because I let my guard down!

We actually have a John Deere tractor....a bit smaller than the one Danica is one in the picture but for some reason they are more fun at the fair!

Well I may have started a PTR but I haven't gotten very far with it yet. This month has been crazy busy.

Planning Before You Leave Home

Gathering Information

I use multiple sources to keep me in the loop with all things Disney. And it seems to be an ever ending battle to keep informed but one that I think is well worth it for an excellent vacation with little to no bad surprises. Like did you know that there is going to be a new Pixar parade at DHS in mid-January? Yup, so I get I can kiss seeing Block Party Bash good-bye. Oh well, my family isn’t into parades much anyway.

Here’s a quick list of some of my resources:
The Unofficial Guide – doh!
The DIS boards – you do have to know who you can trust around here because not all DISers are created equal….trip report boards and restaurant boards provide the best info
Allears.net Love me some Jack Spence Blog. Up to date and factual!!!
Mousesavers.com - has saved my money every trip
WDW Today podcast- great for listening while mowing the lawn or walking.
Disney Parks Blogs – go subscribe NOW!
Touringplans.com – good insider info ahead of time when discounts are coming out
I also listen to Mouse World Radio at work. I love being able to picture in my mind where the music/narration is coming from.

When to Go to Walt Disney World

I had originally wanted to go on vacation during Liam’s spring break, which is usually in late April and close to both kids’ birthdays in May. But Easter got in the way because it’s so late on the calendar in 2011 (April 24th). The first weekend of that vacation is Easter weekend and since we typically go for about 10 days we would have been stuck with huge crowds for at least half of the vacation. No thanks. Plus I realized that we all get sick around that time of year because the pollen starts to come out here in New Hampshire.

So now we are going for my birthday :rolleyes1 over winter break from pre-school. There are a couple things you should know so my travel plans/dates make sense. First, Liam has Autism. Second, we are driving to Florida from NH. (god help me!) I don’t want to take Liam out of school and his special programs for much more then a week even thou he’s only in pre-school. And since we are driving I need extra days on both ends for travel time.

Our first official set of dates was Saturday February 26 to Monday March 7th. I even have a ressie for these dates. But since I am lucky enough to be going with a group of “Spectrum” moms from the DIS in January for a 4 day weekend trip – DH and I decided to shorten our family trip by one day. So our new dates are:

Saturday February 26th to Sunday March 6th.

We will check-in on 2/27 and check-out on 3/6 (arrive at home the evening of 3/7). That gives us 6 ½ days at Disney. Plus Mama gets to in Disney for her birthday and it’s the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot!! Very exciting!

No UG funny for this update…..the book is as dry with its material for this Part One as I was with mine:headache:

Glad I caught your update before we leave for Disney tomorrow. I'm so glad you get to make two trips -- one for your special birthday and then one with the family. Sounds great to me. I've never listened to a podcast...one of these days I'll remember to do that.

Have a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see all your pictures from CSR :rolleyes1

Our second choice of dates overlap with yours...so maybe, just maybe we will cross paths!!!

I like your list of resources. I had NO idea about the DHS parade. I always mean to keep up on all that stuff, but never do until everyone on the DIS knows about it and speaks of it in their PTRs. :rolleyes1

So tell me - is Muppets going to get a refurb?
And how about that rumored Monster's Inc ride???

Selfishly glad that your whole trip overlaps my dates. :thumbsup2

Hey I was just listening to that this morning as I was doing some Dis stuff :goodvibes
