LOL. If you knew what that title was referring to- than you TOTALLY BELONG HERE!

"The Unicorn Club" was the club that Jessica Wakefield belonged to in the Sweet Valley Twins series of books. Those twins grew up, of course, to become the lead characters in the Sweet Valley High series. And if you know all this, than, like me, you were born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's/90s!

Hi! I'm Julia, I am looking for my own Dis Clique, and "I think YOU are Unicorn Material."

DH asked me if I will have any "real" friends when we get back from WDW and I said, "What's wrong with DIS friends?"

I don't know about you- but between the pressures and schedules of two kids, family time, and a full-time job, I don't get together with old girlfriends as much as I like, and the online community here is where it's at with me. So instead of jumping into other threads, I figured I'd just start my own!

Hi! If you want to be a member, I won't make you do an initiation like steal the teacher's lesson plan book, I'll just let you in, how's that? :cutie:

OK, who's in?

*ADDENDUM*
During conversation, we all discovered most of us were BIG "The Baby-Sitters Club" book readers too, so of course, we invite you to join as well! :woohoo: After all, Stacy & Claudia TOTALLY would have been members of the Unicorn Club- given the chance, right?! :thumbsup2

Oh my - Sweet Valley High!

This is like flashback week for me. We're in the process of planning our 20th class reunion and it's just insane all the 80's references I'm coming across lately.

Welcome, ladies! You're now officially, "The coolest, most popular girls in the class!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

BTW, a bit of trivia, do you remember what our fave. color is? :rolleyes1

I can't believe I don't remember that...I know Lila was the President...I would guess pink, but I don't remember for sure.

Purple. How pathetic I saw the title of this thread and knew exactly what you were talking about. lol

So, what year did we each graduate from High School?
Class of '94 here.

Class of '97.

Btw, I mostly read the BSC books (in fact, I still read them occasionally. Started collecting them when I was 9). I did have quite a few Sweet Valley books though...mostly got them from the Scholastic Book Club, since my mother didn't want to buy them for me since she bought me so many BSC books lol.

I usually spent my allowances completely on books...I was spoiled by the fact that my mom always bought me any clothes I wanted, so that's what all of my money went to. I still always need to have a book around to be happy.

Ya'll are killing me. I'm turning *whispers 30* Sunday and I'm trying to go gracefully. Talking about BSC and SVH is making it worse.

I read all those books and Nancy Drew. I loved the Nancy/Hardy Boys super series.

I can still tell you some of my favorite books for every series. I loved to read and still love to read. Probably helped make me the semi romantic I am now.

These were two of my favorite four book series growing up (along with Little House on the Prairie books and Anne of Green Gables books.)

I read the Sweet Valley High books only - not the ones for younger kids. My litle sister read those, and the BSC ones, and watched a BSC TV show(?) - I think.
I remeber a SVH TV show, but it was on aweird channel and at a weird time on our cable provider, so I think I only saw the theme song once and never the actual show.

Can I join??

I didn't read all the books but I really liked the ones I did read. I did watch the show though!

I'm older than all of you. As I said, we're planning our 20th reunion this year.

YAY! LOL.... I've been working all day and not able to check in but I just did and there's so many comments! :goodvibes I'm gonna add a "master list" on page 1 so I can keep track of us! I'll do that tonight.

I SO wanted to be Lila Fowler... rich.. pretty... :rotfl:

:welcome: I was hoping it would strike a cord with people! :cutie:

Class of '95 here! :scared1:

I did the same. And all my Christmas/Birthday presents were books- usually SVT or BSC, sometimes other series that would capture my attention- anyone remember Girl Talk or The Sleepover Friends?

I just turned 31! That one hurt. 30 was painless. But on my 31st birthday, I said, what the Hell? I have grey hairs, my back hurts, I have corns on my toe, and I've gained 20 # this year! :sad2:

Happy early birthday! I turn the big 3-0 in January. I feel so old!

Come on, ladies! Don't feel old! 30 is the new 20! Or at least.... that's what they say...

These were two of my favorite four book series growing up (along with Little House on the Prairie books and Anne of Green Gables books.)

Oh, I LOVED Green Gables! I adore the movies as well....

I was so disappointed I could never catch the show either. Something I could never figure out was - is that girl really a twin or did she just play one?

Can I join??

I didn't read all the books but I really liked the ones I did read. I did watch the show though!

Absolutely! Wanna be the secretary? :rotfl:

I actually have one of the BSC TV episodes on VHS. And the movie too.... :rolleyes1

Oh, I had a few... sold 'em on ebay a few years ago.

Would you guys believe I still have most of my series books in my garage in a giant box? I keep telling myself my daughter will want to read them someday....:sad2:
