New ticker! How does it look? I just booked this morning- 7 wonderful nights at CSR!

How is CSR? I just booked clients there for a trip in April and it was the only mod resort available. I've heard they have a lot of conferences there and it can have a non-Disney feel to it. It looks gorgeous though...

This is when I'll be in Disney!
9/20-9/24 POR
9/24-9/27 Disney Wonder
9/27-9/29 Pop Century

Who's with me? ;)

Oh and Tigger :faint: :faint: :faint:
That just made my day. My entire weekend. I'll be coming back to look at those pictures for the rest of the work day!

I'm a summer bday, too, July!
That's why we're all such hot ladies, right?!?:rotfl2:
For her bday, I am thinking Akershaus, too. We at in the castle on our honeymoon, andalthough it is cool to eat in the castle, Akershaus is better. I think I've convinced dd to have lunchor bfast their because I told her you get to talk to a lot more princesses!

Cool, a July b-day! I guess it's OK to reveal my birth month, too. My birthday's in August! :)

I've read a lot of good comments about Akershaus. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it.

You're going on a cruise and to WDW? Lucky you! May I come along, too? I probably won't take up too much space in your luggage...... :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed the Johnny Depp pics. I keep going back to look them, too!

I'm a July Birthday too!! :cool1:

PS- It's Friday!! Happy Friday and have a great weekend everyone!!!!!! Hoping to do some shopping this weekend! Woohoooooo!

jenny105- I LOVE CSR! When I think of hotels with a Disney feel, I immediately think of the values. But, what I really think gives something the Disney quality is it being able to take you to someplace else and make you really forget where you are, kwim? It could be in Peter Pan's ride, or the southwest at CSR. By that definition, I think it's definitely Disney! I've never had a problem with conventions and don't think it is too spread out- that is what makes it feel relaxing and quiet! It is not so "concrete", like the values (which I have stayed at several times, but it is hard to return after CSR), because of the beautiful landscape!

Hey ladies. I just wanted to say Hi! :wave2: It's nice to see you're keeping this thread going. I have a couple others that keep me pretty busy.

Earlier in the week, I kept getting booted from the UC thread- anyoone else? I think I narrowed it down to something in your sig, Tig, because now it's not happening and I notice you changed your signature. :confused3 Whatever!

All fixed & better now- Have a great weekend ladies! I have to drive through a foot of snow to get to work now. Wish me luck I don't get stuck!

Hey, no fair, you're going on my birthday! I demand to be taken along or I'll run you over with my scooter! :drive: :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I think we should live in the castle. I think it's prettier, but they do say there's always room for one more at the Haunted Mansion, so we could go from place to place. I think we should live a bi-coastal lifestyle. :thumbsup2

Love the Johnny Depp pictures. The 21 jumpstreet years ones are the best. I remember watching that show and pointing out all the places because it was filmed in Vancouver, BC and we used to vacation up there every year.
First of all, :rotfl: That would be a hilarious sight.. I can only imagine it--someone chasing someone down on their scooter. I think I'd bet on the person with the scooter.

I am so up for living bi-costally!! Living in the Castle is very Unicorn idea! I do think it would be fun to move around WDW/DL.. not so sure about living in Haunted Mansion-- I'm a big scaredy cat. I'd be like attached to someone's hip the whole time. :scared1:
I think I'd spend most of my time at the Haunted Mansion. Those tombs look pretty cozy. :rotfl: I may even stay in the little village in the POTC attaction. Anyone wanna come with me?

Oh, yeah. Johnny is hot!!! I still remember the 21 Jump Street theme song. I loved it! I wasn't very interested in the actual show, though. I was a little too young. That's cool that you got to see where they filmed the show! :)
POTC sounds good too!! Hmm.. we have so many options for residency!! :thumbsup2 And Johnny is so hot :cloud9: !

Okay, I feel left out.. I have a February birthday. :rolleyes1

Akershaus is great!! My mom and I went there for lunch (we are very picky eaters and didn't like the food all that much-some of it was good!!) and loved the atmosphere. The princesses were so attentive and great!! Be sure to tell your waiter its DD's birthday- hopefully they'll do something special. I got a card signed by all the Princesses.. it was this great retro card with Roger Rabbit, Mickey, and then some random other characters and they also had all the different park's logo on it, except for Animal Kingdom because I guess this card was made before Animal Kingdom was.. too cool. We went last year.

Happy Birthday to her! :wizard:

Aww.. I won't be in Disney any of those days.. :guilty:
As of right now, DFiance and I only have a possible birthday trip for me planned in mid-Feb. and then a possible one day trip in May. Saving up for the Disney Wedding!!

Hey!! Nice seeing you around- we missed you!!

Ugh, a foot of snow.. be careful!!

Happy Saturday, Unicorns!!!

Julez- Hey, girl! Haven't seen you in a while. :wave2: I don't know if my signature was the reason that you couldn't come on this thread, but if it was, I'm sorry about that! It's a good thing that I changed it. Sorry to hear about all that snow. Hopefully, it won't give you any problems while you're driving to work. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hey, just to let you know, we've got a couple of parties on the celebration board. Looks like it's DIS Veteran season! Jump right in and join in the fun!

Rora- Nice to have you back, too! :goodvibes :cool1: I hope that things are going better in your class. Don't feel left out about having a February birthday! Starr is right next door to you. Her birthday's in January. :thumbsup2 By the way, that's so cool that you got a birthday card signed by all the princesses at Akershaus!! Lucky you!! :)

First of all, :rotfl: That would be a hilarious sight.. I can only imagine it--someone chasing someone down on their scooter. I think I'd bet on the person with the scooter.

There's safety in numbers you know. The Grim Reaper can't get all of us! :thumbsup2

Okay, I feel left out.. I have a February birthday. :rolleyes1

It's OK, we still love you. See, by having a birthday in February, we get to party year round! :thumbsup2 This is a good thing! :woohoo:

OMG, OMG, OMG! I can't believe this. So I went behind my endo's back and scheduled surgery in Houston for March 25th (yes, I'm a bad girl!!!!) I'll get to have it pending his approval, but I have two months to get it, so I think I'll be fine (I hope... :worship: :worship: :worship: ) So, I watch Dancing with the Stars religiously... Corky Ballas is one of my favorite professional dancers on there. He was paired with Cloris Leachman on the last season. He's one of my facebook friends. So I sent him a message asking if he still teaches in Houston (he used to have the largest dance studio in the city). I got a message back from him tonight... He still does!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He asked me when I want my lesson. It's $175 an hour, but well worth it to learn from the guy who taught his son, Mark who won the mirror ball with Kristi Yamaguchi, plus two time mirror ball trophy winner, Julianne Hough and last season's winner, Derek Hough. I'm ecstatic! I can't believe I'm going to learn from a true master! To set the record straight, I have no dance experience whatsoever, but I'm planning on taking it up after I get well again.

corky_suit.jpg

Lets see if this works... the first time I did it, it didn't want to post the pic.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think he's kind of cute... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

OH MY GOSH!!!! I hope everything works out!! That would be so awesome if you could have your surgery that soon. I'll be praying, keeping my fingers crossed, asking Tink to send you pixie dust........everything!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Wow! That's so cool! That'd be amazing if you could take dancing lessons from him. Hey, maybe you'll run into Julianne Hough's brother. He's kinda cute. I must say....that Corky Ballas guy is pretty cute, too! You could be our official ballroom dancing instructor!! :thumbsup2

I just had to find a picture of Derek Hough. Did I say kinda cute? I must have had temporary amnesia!! He's REALLY cute!!! :lovestruc

First let me address the most important issue: OMG!! That is great news about the surgery. I hope hope hope you get approval. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Everything will work out!!!

Secondly: OMG!! I love Dancing with the Stars!! I can't believe you are going to have a private lesson with him. That is so worth the money!! YOU MUST MENTALLY FORM A TR WHEN YOU ARE WITH HIM AND TELL US EVERYTHING!! :dance3: That is just too cool.

Tigger: I love your siggy. It made me so happy when I saw it. Gotta love Disney! :thumbsup2

Happy Sunday, Ladies!!

Hey, everyone! :wave2:

Rora- Thanks for the siggie compliment. :flower3:

Since there are quite a few images in my new signature, please let me know if you guys start having page-loading problems when you come to this thread. If you do, I'll change it. We don't need no stinkin' page-loading problems!! :badpc:

So....how's life? Did anyone do anything fun this weekend? My weekend was pretty uneventful. I did some chores, ran a few errands, blah, blah, blah. (Where's the yawning smilie?) Well, it wasn't all that dull. I did get a chance to try some new recipes. Believe it or not, one of my New Year's resolutions (yes, I actually make them) is to try at least one new recipe every week. (Yup, I'm a dork with a capital "D"!)

I've been in an "Anne-ish" mood and I just finished reading the 4th book in the Anne of Green Gables series, Anne of Windy Poplars. Has anyone else read that book? It's not one of my favorites, but still very enjoyable. I think I'm going to either read the 5th book next or skip over to Rainbow Valley or Rilla of Ingleside. What about you? Is anyone reading anything interesting? Do tell! Let's take a break from talking about hot guys (a very short break ;)) and have a book discussion/ life discussion. I feel like having a deep (-ish) conversation. I hope the feeling will go away soon. These kinds of things are against the original Unicorn club rules. :rotfl:

P.S. I hope I'm not opening up Pandora's box or anything. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of Unicorns!!! :scared: Hee hee! Just kidding!

Glad you enjoyed the Johnny Depp pics. I keep going back to look them, too!

Yes, it's the Land & Sea package, with a couple nights added to the end! And of course you can come along! I can just see my DBF asking 'What's a Unicorn Club?' :rotfl:

I am glad to hear this! A co-worker stayed there and didn't really like it all that much because of all the conventions going on. And I understand completely what you mean by concrete. I love POP but it's nothing but buildings and walkways. I visited POR cause I'm staying there in September and couldn't believe how lush and spread out it was in comparison! I'm going to get lost there!

Okay, I feel left out.. I have a February birthday. :rolleyes1

I love CSR!!! Their food court is the best. I think CSR is my favorite moderate.

Me too. I have an October birthday.

Saving up for your wedding is excusable for not joining me in WDW in September! I'll let it slide ;) Have you update your blog lately?

Honu - AWESOME! :)

Did anyone catch the Golden Globes last night? Slumdog Millionaire won EVERYTHING. Has anyone seen it? The only movies I saw that were nominated (besidse KFP and WallE) was Benjamin Button. The other movies never got a big release!

My weekend was nice-ish!
Friday DFiance called me and was like "Uhh.. my car broke down.." I say.."Where are you", "Sitting on the side of I-95, about 30 miles from the house.."
:sad2: I was supposed to be going to Yoga Class in 10 minutes but then I grumpily got in my car and went to pick him up (I should've have been grumpy but.. it's Yoga!! ). We waited for the tow-truck man.. he was a speed demon. He ran redlights and went like 90 miles on the highway.. he also wouldn't tell me where we were going (SKETCHY!!) so I had to keep up. Basically, DFiance's car is dead. His sweet old grandma said she'd give him her car if he would pay to get the breaks and a couple of other things fixed. It was a mess.

Saturday, we went to the zoo!! :squirrel: :dog: paw: I LOVE the zoo. We had a great time. Other than that.. my weekend wasn't too eventful.

As far as books go, I'm still reading the Twilight series. I'm starting the final book today. Overall, I have to say that I'm not that impressed. It was a good book, fun for a light read but I don't think it's nearly as good as Harry Potter (I know I'm not supposed to compare them..blah blah). Since I'll probably finish this book by Wednesday.. does anyone have any good book suggestions???

We should start a Unicorn Club Book List!! or a Unicorn Book Club.. something clever like that, where we share good books, maybe even some members would want to read books together..? Just throwing out ideas.. :thumbsup2

And to keep the savage Unicorn satisfied..
Channing-Tatum.jpg

Tatum Channing. Gorgeous.

Edit: sadly, I've been too lazy to update my blog recently, Jenny.. one of these days I will!!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I hope everything works out!! That would be so awesome if you could have your surgery that soon. I'll be praying, keeping my fingers crossed, asking Tink to send you pixie
dust........everything!!!

Thanks! I need all the pixie dust I can get! :wizard: pixiedust: I'm planning on surgery then, so lets hope it happens! Lots of prayers for high test results please so the endo will sign off on it.

I love Corky! He's my second favorite dancer, behind Tony Dovolani (boy would I like to be looking at his behind! :worship: :rotfl2: :happytv: )

I just had to find a picture of Derek Hough. Did I say kinda cute? I must have had temporary amnesia!! He's REALLY cute!!!

derek_hough.jpg

Derek is pretty cute. I hate that he looks like such a little boy sometimes on the show. I like it when he looks more "manly".

First let me address the most important issue: OMG!! That is great news about the surgery. I hope hope hope you get approval. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Everything will work out!!!

Thanks! Fingers crossed. Pixie dust and prayers needed! :thumbsup2

I know! I'm so excited! My mom rolled her eyes when I told her he still taught in Houston and I was going to take a lesson from him. She said, "for your first lesson? Isn't he kind of expensive?" Hey, it's a once in a lifetime thing. When am I ever going to be able to learn from him again? If he can teach Cloris to dance, he can teach me!!!!!!!!

Hey, everyone! :wave2:

Rora- Thanks for the siggie compliment. :flower3:

What happened to the siggie? It isn't there on my computer. Did it go away?

Believe it or not, one of my New Year's resolutions (yes, I actually make them) is to try at least one new recipe every week. (Yup, I'm a dork with a capital "D"!)

My weekend was officially boring. I watched reruns of stuff and other stuff that I DVR'ed and went shopping with my mom. Ate at Red Mango. If you haven't eaten there, I highly recommend it. The yogurt is out of this world!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and I played Wii and Wii Fit.

I read the tales of Beedle the Bard, is that unicornish?????? I also read Man-Made. Whoa. It's by Ken Baker, a hockey player who had a pituitary tumor. That was like reading my life story in terms of what I've gone through with my tumor. I'm hoping his next book gets here soon, it's about his recovery from the tumor and subsequent comback to the NHL.

P.S. I hope I'm not opening up Pandora's box or anything. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of Unicorns!!! :scared: Hee hee! Just kidding!

Evil? Is there evil in our hearts? :stir: NEVER!

Yes, it's the Land & Sea package, with a couple nights added to the end! And of course you can come along! I can just see my DBF asking 'What's a Unicorn Club?' :rotfl:

I'd barely seen anything that was mentioned last night. I did see Mama Mia, I thought it was wonderful and deserving of awards. I gave up when Something Christina Barcelona won and award. Who's ever heard of that????????

I am on the fence about whether to read Twilight or not. I'm a huge HP fan. If it's not the same as HP, I may pass.

We should start a Unicorn Club Book List!! or a Unicorn Book Club.. something clever like that, where we share good books, maybe even some members would want to read books together..? Just throwing out ideas.. :thumbsup2

I vote for the unicorn book club too! What should we read first?

I vote for the unicorn book club too! What should we read first?
Hmm.. Unicorns, what do you think??? We will all have to think about this one. This would be pretty cool if everyone (or at least some people) were on board!!

Honu: I'm not sure what to tell you about Twilight. Again, it's a good series just to escape the real world for a little while. It is strangely addictive to read, although the author's style isn't that fabulous (geez, I sound like a cranky old literature professor!! ). I think you should read the series just for fun (plus, Edward, the main character, sounds incredibly gorgeous and is Unicorn hottie material!!) if you have the time, but don't expect it to be on the level of Harry Potter. Also, if you want to see the movie, see it before you read the book!

My Wedding Planning Blog has been Updated!!

And I need all of you. Please take a look at my newest entry, especially read paragraph #2 (it's not actually the 2nd paragraph, but it's labeled- you won't miss it!) I need help choosing a venue at Disney..

Plus, there is a big list of what our plans are and you get to know me a little bit better-read my crazy thoughts and demands :rolleyes1 !

Thanks for reading ladies!! Although I know my family, DFiance's family, and our friends read, it's nice to know that my DIS friends read as well! :grouphug:

Tatum Channing. Gorgeous.

I read Twilight and it was ok. I bought it to see what all the hype was about and then was given New Moon for Christmas. I liked New Moon better but that's because I like Jacob a helluva lot better than Edward. I'm sure everyone else who reads that series would disagree but...I dunno, I just like him better!

Have you ever read the Confessions of a Shopaholic series? I love it! Becky Bloomwood :rotfl: The movie is coming out in a month so I need to re-read. I have a feeling the movie isn't going to be all that great though. They did a great job with Devil Wears Prada but this just looks...meh.

That guy is in the GI Joe movie coming out over the summer. My b/f is all psyched about it but now he doesn't have to talk me into seeing it. And Dennis Quaid is in it too! :lovestruc

I'd barely seen anything that was mentioned last night. I did see Mama Mia, I thought it was wonderful and deserving of awards. I gave up when Something Christina Barcelona won and award. Who's ever heard of that????????

I know it's a Woody Allen film so it can't be all that bad. But I don't even remember it being released! I think I'm going to see Frost/Nixon on Wednesday.

Twilight is nowhere near on the same level as Harry Potter. Throughout the series, you grow to love Harry. Throughout Twilight, you start to want to kick Bella in the teeth because she's so insecure.

And yes, you can come to Disney too! ;)
