MinnieMe87- Nice to have you back! :) Keep warm over there in Illinois.

sweetandsassyfl- L.M. Montgomery's books are my favorites, too!

honugirl- I hope you're feeling better! :flower3: By the way, here are some purple clothes you can wear.

OMG! Writing this TR is so much work! This last installment took over an hour! Eeek!

I haven't meant to be MIA again!

I'm feeling much better, thanks for the well wishes! :thumbsup2

I wore purple scrubs today, in honor of the UC.

I also loved LM Montgomery and Judy Blume books. Actually, she wrote one I read just a couple years ago, The Summer Sisters. Pretty good.

Lately, I've been into Barbara Delinsky and the Stone Barrington Novels by Stuart Woods. I also want to read Son of a Witch by Greag MacQuire, or however you spell his name.

It's freezing here. High today in the 40s. Yucky.

I'm dreaming of a Disney vacation.... :rolleyes1

"Night all.
Promise not to be so absent tommorow!
:goodvibes

Julez- Dis'ing is a job! I've never written a TR-too much work!
Minnieme- I am in Central IL, too. We did get some snow. Brr! The kids were psyched, tho!

What are you ladies reading now? I have to read a whole novel by Thursday for class (nothing like procrastinating!). It's not bad, but it is about life in a concentration camp. Not a light read!

Thanks for the purple clothes! I actually liked some of them:love: ... and I'm not generally into high fashion. :woohoo:  I'm starting to feel a but better. I injured my back on Friday at the gym which created a whole chain reaction. But, I'm going to be OK. A little magic :wizard: and a little pixie dust pixiedust: and I'll be as good as new.

I've been reading Dr. Laura's Stop Whining and Start Living. It's actually got some good advice in there.

Anyone read the Saddle Club? I was so addicted to those books. My friend and I are such dorks, we watch the TV show on Youtube all the time. It's like reliving my childhood again! I love it. Of course though, we're both horse crazy, so it fits... :rolleyes1

It's freezing here too, I woke up to frost everywhere. Ugh. I'm not ready for winter. If I was able to be at the ice rink, it wouldn't be so bad... sigh.

:wave2:

Hi everybody! See what a good clubber I am? I'm checkin' in today!

What am I reading now? Herm... I've been nursing Barbara Delinsky's "Return to Peyton Place" for quite some time now. I was TRYING to read "Kingdom Keepers" but I just couldn't get through it. It was slow and juvenile. I'm a die-hard Disney fan but it's just not a good book. Period.

Saddle Club? Yes, I still have copies of that as well! It spurred a love of horseback riding. I even convinced Daddy Dearest to let his precious DD take riding lessons. Much to my dismay, my hill-billy-hankerchief-wearing-missing-tooth-riding-teacher insisted I learn on WESTERN instead of ENGLISH and used terms like "That thing there" instead of proper tack names when instructing me on how to groom the ANCIENT and SENILE horse I was attempting to learn on.

Horseback-riding didn't last past lesson 3. I blame Dad's riding lesson choice on that one. :rotfl:

Have a great day everybody! :goodvibes

Samantha Who is on tonight! Yay!

What is the book called? I read ALOT of books about the Holocaust. I even own quite a few. Some reason I am interested in that, true crime, and ghosts. My dad did something wrong although he claims he had nothing to do with the ghost interest!

OMG!

Can I join, pretty please?:

When I read Babysitter's Club whoa that brought me back.

That is literally what I spent all of my allowance on and then Grandma would pick me up a book or 2.

I remember the first time I went to Disney I brought the Babysitter's Club with me and read the book all the way down and home again.

I still have a majority of those books. I really enjoyed them.

I liked Nancy Drew as well, I think my favorite was the one that took place in Miami, she had a green bathing suit on the cover. So odd that I remember that.

When I was a kid, I used to dream about WDW when I read the BSC Super Special where they all went to Florida. I was so jealous...

I just watched the Saddle Club on Discovery Kids. I love that show... I'm such a sap! I might go get some of the books at the library just for old times sake.

Off to find purple to wear... :yay: :cheer2: princess: :wizard:

Dolphin- It is called "Fatelessness". Have you read "Night"? The author recently spoke at my school, but I couldn't go.

I must have missed "The Saddle Club", but, then again, I wasn't really into horses. I am a city girl. I didn't see many of them in Chicago, unless they were ridden by a cop once in a while! To be honest, horses kind of freak me out. They are so big. We went riding in TN once and I was scared my horse would spook and throw me down the mountain.

I bought that book quite awhile ago when it was getting a lot of press. While sad it was a quick and easy read. I would love to be able to go to a presentation when survivors are speaking. I never know where or when a speaker will be somewhere. The closest I have been is the holocuast musuem where they play videos of survivors talking about some aspects of their lives.

Oh! I'm sorry to hear that you injured your back. I hope you'll have a speedy recovery. I'll keep you in my prayers. :flower3:

I'm glad that you like the purple clothes. I like some of them myself. That Gucci number is awesome. I like the Pucci dress next to it, too.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask you if you have a connection to Hawaii. I know that honu means "turtle" in Hawaiian. :) I'm originally from Honolulu and I'm always on the lookout for DISers who are from Hawaii.

I'm feeling much better, thanks for the well wishes! :thumbsup2

I wore purple scrubs today, in honor of the UC.

Woohoo! Show that Unicorn pride! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you're feeling better.

What are you ladies reading now?

Since we've been talking about all the books we used to read, I started reading Anne of Green Gables (for the one millionth time). Fortunately, I still have all of my L.M. Montgomery books. :)

No connection to Hawaii other than lots of vacations there. After Disney it's my favorite destination because I can hang out in the water all day looking at the turtles and the fishies! I'm a big turtle fan. I've got turtles all over my bedroom. :cool1: :thumbsup2 :lovestruc

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. I was able to get out for a dog walk with my friend and her two dogs today which was so nice! I wore my purple socks today to show my unicorn pride! :wizard:

Loved the white pucci dress with the purple flowers and the pucci dress next to the gucci one.

Where did you get the little Unicorn Club thing in your signature or whatever it's called? It's really cute! :thumbsup2

I made my own blinkie from a free blinkie generator site. Feel free to use it in you signature if you want. I hope that all the Unicorns will use it in their signatures. I got the little unicorn picture from thesmilies.com (under the "fantasy" category). Go ahead and use it in your sig too if you want to.

Well, Unicorns and BSC fans, I hope that you're all having a great week so far. :) Does anyone have anything fun planned for this weekend?

Thanks! I'm going to go put it in my signature now. :thumbsup2 Um, where can I get the image? I think I have to have a URL or something to do it. Can you PM me with it or post it on here? Thanks! Otherwise, I don't know how to do it.

I just got home from a pumpkin carving afternoon. Between my two friends and I, we carved 10 pumpkins and 6 large Zucchini (yes, you can carve a Zucchini!). They looked fab! I did two Disney ones, Pooh and Piglet, and two assorted funny faces. We had a really good time. Friday night I'm going back over to their house for Halloween and we're doing pizza and handing out cookies. I'm dressing up as Pooh with my WDW Halloween Mickey ears. I love living in a small town! You can still get away with handing out cookies because everyone knows everyone. Oh, we decorated the porch too so it's really cool. We used corn stalks from their garden and put up Halloween lights and other decorations. We're going to play Phantom of the Opera from behind the bushes near the porch. It's going to be so spooky! I had so much fun!

That's the extent of my weekend plans. I'm frozen solid now. We sat outside on the porch admiring our handy work after dark. It was cold, but totally worth it!

I've been so MIA it's insane.. but.. I'm back!!
Tigger: $5 rent?! Are you kidding?!?! There is no rent for Unicorn Club members, silly!!!

:welcome: to all new members!

I just got home from visiting family in West Virginia- whew was it cold!! But I'm back in the South (where's it's been rather chilly-70's--okay okay, not so chilly but I broke out my fuzzy purple socks!).

Hope everyone is having a great week-- hang in there! It's almost Friday! :goodvibes

Welcome back! :wave2: I hope you had a nice time in West Virginia. :)

That's very generous of you to offer free rent for UC members. Don't be surprised if you find a bunch of purple-clad women on your doorstep one day! :rotfl: :upsidedow

Here are 7 (relatively) easy steps for putting a picture in your signature. These steps are from a PM that was sent to me.

1. Right click on the picture.
2. Select "Properties."
3. Highlight and then "copy" the address. This will start with http, and it has the word photobucket (or imageshack) in it. It looks like the name of a website.
4. Go to User CP and select Edit Signature.
5. If you look above where the writing goes, you will find a small icon with a yellow mountain on it. Click on this.
6. "Paste" the address from Step 3. Click OK.
7. You will now see an IMG sign in your signature. When you preview and/or the changes, your signature will have the picture in it.

If you have trouble putting the picture in your sig, just let me know.

How fun! Please post pictures of the pumpkins if you have any. I'd especially like to see the Pooh and Piglet pumpkins! While looking for a pumpkin picture for another thread, I happened to find a picture of a pumpkin that had Tigger's picture carved into it! Now that's my kind of pumpkin! I hope that you have a great time on Halloween. By the way, if you want to find or share any pumpkin recipes, visit my pumpkin recipes thread. The link to it is in my signature. :)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Yay! I have a unicorn and the Unicorn Club official membership tag. I'm so excited! :worship: :woohoo: :yay:  :lovestruc :dance3: :cheer2:

I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I'm going back over there for the evening. The Pooh and Piglet ones came from the stencils at Target. Now that was a good deal!!!!!!! $5.99 for tools and stencils! :thumbsup2 I'll try to get some when they're lit up too. They're so cool. They were so much fun to carve. I can't wait for next year already.

I'm dressing up as Pooh tomorrow and putting my Pumpkin Mickey Ears on top of that. Woohoo! Can't wait to see the kiddos in costume tomorrow.

I'm going to go drop by the pumpkin thread now too. Mmmm, pumpkin pie! Love that pumpkin pie! :dance3:

Hey! We did Jack Skellington, Sleeping Beauty, and Minnie Mouse. The wind blew in Minnie Mouse's face!

Jack & Aurora still look pretty good though.

I'm wearing my WDW Pumpkin ears RIGHT NOW!!!! @ Work! :goodvibes

Happy Halloween!
Keep safe & have fun!
