Sunday 16th May - Hollywood Studios

We decided to head back to Disney for a full day and opted for Hollywood Studios.

We skipped breakfast at the hotel and decided we'd grab something at the Studios, little did we know nothing opened until 11am! I sent Simon on a Fast Pass run to Toy Story Mania as it was just passed opening time and we told him we'd follow him up and meet him at the 'hat'. We grabbed some photopass pictures along the way :)

We reached the area around the sorcerer's hat and we found some characters whilst we waited on Simon to return. Stitch had no line  So I hopped at the chance for another photo with my fave!

Simon finally made his way back to us and he announced our FP time was 10.35am. We had some time to kill before then, so we decided to walk around and do the Backlot Tour along with grabbing a coffee and muffin from the cart in the Pixar Studio.

We completed the Backlot and entered the Villains area afterwards which was just fantastic! It shows off many of the character costumes from the big movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean.

After the walk through Villains tour we went then hung around and looked around the TSM gift store whilst the last few minutes ticked to our FP time. We hit the queue as soon as they allowed us to and rode TSM again! :yay: I adore that ride so much, it's great fun! We grabbed more passes once we were done for later that day.

After TSM we needed to find a place for food, as my Dad is diabetic. We headed across the studios towards Star Tours and ended up in the Backlot Express for two turkey sandwiches between 5 of us :lmao: (We had an ADR later in the day!) We caught the end of the Jedi Training Academy before joining the queue for Star Tours.

Again, lord knows why I got on another simulator, but I did :rotfl2: Previously, I've done Star Tours without a problem, but it seems as I'm getting older, the simulators aren't liking me anymore! :sad1:

We carried on around from Star Tours and headed towards Muppet Vision 3d. We got into the queue for this as we needed to cool down  We'd done the Muppets many times before, but we just love it and can't miss it out. We left the Muppets gift store and wandered across to the Christmas shop and picked some items out and had them sent back to the resort.

We walked around the Streets of America for a while and grabbed a frozen banana - yum! We walked back past TSM and all the FP had gone for the day. We wandered into One Man's Dream and I just loved it! I was amazed and would have loved more time to walk around the beginning and read about Walt, but time was short and we needed to hit the next showing. I loved the film they'd put together about Walt and his childhood dreams, it was amazing and I'm not ashamed to say I teared up watching!

We joined the Little Mermaid next on her Voyage Under the Sea before heading into the Animation Studio and everything was centred around...

We did the Animation Academy and we got to draw Mickey Mouse himself! My Mum loved this and bought herself a 'learn to draw' book from the gift store afterwards.

After that we headed down Sunset Boulevard towards the Tower of Terror. My brother was really unsure about this, as he doesn't like lifts generally, but he braved it - and hated every second! :sad2: Least he tried it eh?

We walked back up Sunset Boulevard and towards Hollywood and Vine for our Fantasmic dinner package. We enjoyed the food in here, but our server was rude and not very welcoming :confused3 She cleared the table, but everything she seemed to do was a chore, maybe she was having a bad day, but this put me off somewhat. Whilst we were finishing off in H&V a storm hit. It had been threatening it all day, so we weren't too surprised. Me and my Mum grabbed ourselves some poncho's so we could just carry on.

We were hoping that the storm would pass quickly so that Fantasmic would still be going ahead. We wandered through some of the gift shops before heading back across to TSM for our 2nd ride of the day :cheer2:

After riding again we decided to head slowly over to the entrance for the VIP Fantasmic package. We met a lovely CM at the gate who directed us to 'follow the yellow line' until you meet the next CM. So, they did....

DSC04954.jpg

LITERALLY! :lmao: Much to my amusement! We finally reached the next CM who pointed us through to the theatre. The storm had cleared, for now, so we took off our ponchos and found a bench ready for the show. We went and grabbed a Bud whilst we waited...and the weather returned! :sad2:

The show did start, but 15 minutes later than planned due to technical difficulties. It didn't disappoint though as always. Great show and everyone loved it. My parents and brother had never seen the show before and they were all really impressed with it.

After the show we decided to head back to the resort as it had been a long day. We got back in time for a quick half an hour in the arcade before it closed and a cheeky drink at the pool bar before closing.
