Ohhh the pics of all the sweets look sooo yummy! I can't wait to try the caramel shop :) 12 days and counting....caramel goodies you will soon be MINE LOL.

We also of course have a cat named after a Disney movie - Koda Bear(my favorite cat - thus my screen name:rotfl:)

We also have a cat named Koda Bear! It is my mom's cat but I named him after we came back from a Disney Trip. We stayed at WL that trip and I got a stuffed Koda Bear. We normally just call him Koda. It is such a great name though and I wish I had saved it for my own cats!

No more lurking! I love your reviews so far. Chocolate caramel cupcake, here I come.

Can't wait to see more:thumbsup2

Forgot to put in the title so I am going to put it here:

WWOHP: Three Broomsticks

Hi everyone :) Since I have some spare time right now I decided that it would be a good time to update on My food review. So for our first full day we went to universal (aka the place that must not be named) to visit HARRY POTTER LAND!!!!! One of the crucial components of WWOHP for me was the food and how closely it resembled the food from the movie. Today I am going to be discussing the three broomsticks portion of our meal so if you are just here for the Disney food please bear with me for the next couple of posts. When my mom and I decided to head into three broomsticks it was surprisingly not crowded. Every review of the place I had read up to that point said you would be better off not trying to get in there but we wanted to go there since it was such a big part of the potter universe. We got up to the front of the line very quickly. Now the organization of this place was so much better than we had experienced throughout the rest of the park up to that point. It was very refereshing. There ordering set up was that you went up to the ordering kiosks in one line and then once you approached the kiosks you were put into several different sections. The hostess at the front of the line gave each party a number and that was the number kiosk they went to to order. Then once a person ordered there food they went up to a pick up booth with the same number as there ordering kiosk. Once the customers had picked everything up they walk over to the seating area where some more hosts and hostesses seated you at a table. I give high praise to universal on that one. That made the ordering process a breeze for us (We each got a butterbeer and shared a fish and chips. Here are some pictures of our food:

Also, heres a picture of the food window display:

The fish and chips were actually pretty good, i'm glad we shared them. As for the butterbeer, it was only ok. My mom and I were both glad that we had tried it but agreed that it wasn't worth a repeat. However, this opinon completely changed at the end of our day when we came back to three broomsticks for... FROZEN BUTTERBEER!!!!!!!! The ordering process was pretty much the same but it was more crowded than it had been earlier that day. We still made it through the line very quickly though. The Hosts told us to go outside to the patio area since we were only having the frozen butterbeer. that didn't really matter to us though since it was january and we had already eaten inside so we got a completely different setting atmosphere which we liked just as much. Now I know what you are all thinking, Get to the frozen butterbeer already!. So since we had gotten our regular butterbeer in the souviener container we decided to get the standard WWOHP cup for the frozen butterbeer. It made the drink have a different look I think. Here's a picture:

Now, I don't know what it is about this drink being frozen versus regular but the butterbeer is better... FROZEN!!! I know this may not come as a surprise to you considering my introduction to the frozen butterbeer but I seriuosly thought it would be weird frozen since in the books it is a drink that people have for warmth. When I had the frozen butterbeer I felt like I was having a milkshake which was super fantastic! The only downside to the experience was that we only got one drink instead of 2 so my mom and I were both fighting over it! (She liked the frozen kind better 2). All in all I found this trip to three broomsticks to be delicious and I hope you get a chance to try the food and the butterbeer. If you eat at this restaraunt I swear to you that you won't regret it!

Great review of Three Broomsticks - their organisational skills sound great! :thumbsup2

Will def be getting a FROZEN Butterbeer (all to myself) on our trip!!! :goodvibes

I too am a Harry Potter nerd as well as WDW fanatic.. Ive really really want to go to Universal just for Harry Potter but we had a bad experience in 2008 at Universal so my family doesnt want to go back.. Wonder if I can just slip this in..

So I have to know, what does butterbeer taste like? Is it beer or what? Does it have a butterscotch taste?

Since I am on a roll with all of you i decided to discuss another food spot in WWOHP with you guys. That place is...... (drumroll please) HONEY DUKES!!!!!!! For those of you who don't know, Honeydukes is a candy/sweet shop that is introduced in the third book. It is a Hogsmeade establishment that Hogwarts students always look forward to. Anyway back to my reivew. So right after three brromsticks we of course decide to stop into honeydukes and check out all of the sweets. Here are some pictures of the store:

Of course we did not get all of this candy! We got a couple of chocolate wands, 3 things of pumpkin juice, a chocolate frog, and..... CALDROUN CAKE!!!!!!! (here's a picture of this fine dessert!)

P1000568.jpg

Now I will discuss the treats that we got.

Chocolate Frog: I never actually got to try this, but based on what I was told it apparently wasn't very good. i heard that the chocolate was kind of candy store generic. Of course had i gotten to try it myself maybe I would have had my own opinon. The cards that came with the frogs were cool though. The frogs were also HUGE!!!! moving on to...

Pumpkin Juice: We still have some of this in our fridge. Since i've been away at school and the juice stayed home I never really got a good chance to try this either. My brother and his finance (who are going to the Disney and Harry Potter worlds during christmas break for their honeymoon) did get to try it and said it was kind of funny tasting so I've avoided it whenever i've been home :(. The plus side to this is that it came in a cute container. The purchase is worth it just for the pumpkin bottle container. It is a very debated taste so I would still try it if I were you (The reason I didn't was because I knew that if my brother who likes weird beverages didn't like it I definitely wouldn't like it). Next up in the reivew is...

Chocolate wand: I did get to actually try this treat which made me very happy. I thought that it was good but not great. I was expecting it to be a chocolate covered pretzel or something like that so I was very surprised when i realized that it is solid chocolate! I personally thought that it would have been a lot better as a chocolate covered pretzel wand. But the treat was still good and makes for a great gift. The final treat in my review is...

THE CALDRUON CAKE: (aka the bext cake based dessert in Harry Potter Land and maybe orlando in general!!!) seriously people, this dessert is that good. My mom and I split it because we read beforehand that this was a very rich treat. let me begin by saying that I am very glad we split that because there was no way I could have eaten that thing by myself. You may think i'm overexaggerating when you first look at the cake but trust me when I say that this cake is very rich and you defintely want to share it with someone. Ok now back to discussing the taste of the cake. Let me start by discussing the handle of this uber delicious cake with you. it is made from some kind of cinnamon dark chocolate (I know that sounds gross but bear with me here- also my mom compared this chocolate to the chocolate movie chocolate which coming from her is defintely a good thing and a big deal). IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!! I wished that I had more of it to eat it was that good! It was defintely messy but worth all that mess. Now I am going to move to THE FROSTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAKE!!!! Once again this was all chocolate with some white chocolate flakes in the middle of it. I apologize to all of you white chocolate lovers out there because I seriously don't remember how tht part tasted. may be that is because the regular chocolate part WAS JUST SOOOOOOO UNBELIVABLY GOOD!!!!!!! It was kind of like a light chocolate moouse (I love those things btw so coming from me that is a good thing). The frosting was so creamy and delicous! I'm suddenly finding myself dreaming of that frosting. any way let me move on to... THE CAKE ITSELF!!!! Ok, so as you may remember from my previous reviews that I love frosting and the cake is usually secondary to the frosting in my mind. well, this time was one of the few exceptions to my opinon! I seriously LOVED THIS CAKE!!!! I usually find theme park cakes to be a little dry (still good but dry). Well, this cake was defintely NOT dry. It practically melted in my mouth. Out of all the cake-like desserts I had that trip this is the one that stands the most out in my mind. OMG IT WAS SOOOOOOOO GOOD! I could seriously go on and on all day about how good this cupcake is! Luckily for you I don't have that kind of time so I will stop rambling on and on about the cake.

All in all the food at universal was defintely satisfactory! Remember my hits and misses and hopefully you enjoyed this review. Next Up: Boma's Breakfest

I'm sure you can. My mom had never been to universal before and I had been to islands of adventure once with school back in 2007 and didn't have the best experience. My brother had also gotten lost in universal when he was a baby. If we were able to push back our anti-universal feelings for one day I have absolute faith that your family can 2. Turst me we are a family that doesn't like to leave disney unless there is a good reason. And believe me when I say that Harry Potter is a good reason. So as far as the butterbeer is concerned it has this delicous foam on the top of if that has this sweet taste to it. Kind of like vanilla and butterscotch I guess (can't really describe it). The actual base of the drink was cream soda based. I think I remember it having a butterscotch taste but the whole thing is kind of hazy to me right now. Like I said in my review I prefer the frozen kind which still has the delicous foam on top but the base of the drink it like those coke slush things you could get from the movie theaters with the flavor of the butterbeer. I hope you get to try it :) Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. :(

Hi everyone :) I just went on this thread and realized how terrible I have been about updating. I sincerely apologize for that. Anyway the next place we ate at is...... BOMA"S!!!!!!!! (Sorry I don't have any food porn from this meal :(.) Anyway, We got there right on time and got our pager hassle free. We were just about to go exploring when I realized the pager was going off. This made me slightly sad but I carried on with the meal without regret. We then were seated and waited for our server to come and take our drink orders. We had such a nice server which made me happy. She was very relateable and we had a nice chat! Anyhow, once we got our drink orders in we went up to the buffet area and both my mom and I got a mix of traditional breakfest foods and pastries and fruit. Everything was filling but delicious! The whole meal went by very quickly

Hi everyone :) So I know what i'm about to say isn't food related but it is something cool that is happening in my non-disney life. I don't know if I have mentioned it on here but my brother and his fiance are getting married in december. They have entered this really cool contest through crate and barrel that is for the ultimate wedding. If they win they can get there wedding planned by a celebrity wedding planner. I know it is a long shot but if you have a chance and don't have other people you need to vote for in this contest, can you please send them a vote. They are both music teachers and this could be a great opportunity for their wedding.

Loving your reviews!! I'm taking a trip with my sister in August and we also plan to go to the park that must not be named mainly to see WWOHP. Your description of the Cauldron Cakes is making my mouth water. I will definitely get one of those when we go because of you! Can't wait to hear more reviews, they are great!
