Here I am again. I’ve mentally been writing this pre-trippe in my head for awhile now. But, those who know me or who read my last trip report know that I am no writer. I love grammar. I had a crush on my English teacher. But alas, I have no creative writing juices at all flowing through my body. I must add that said body looks much different than it did pre-children. Why does that have to happen? Can’t we breastfeed, toilet train, drive a mini van, discipline, pick up Legos a million and one times, get Bubbalicious gum out of hair, etc, etc, while still having a hot bod? Why not? This I don’t agree with. I may have to have a chat with somebody upstairs. Ok, back on track…..
My name is Kelli. I’m a young momma. I had my oldest daughter right before I turned 20 and had our last child, my son, right before I turned 24. I know that’s not the norm but it works for us. I am an office manager, with a great job and manage to find plenty of Dis time. I was introduced to Walt Disney World by a great friend of mine. This little lady’s name is Samantha. She’s a Dis'er. We actually met online, on a birth board. We both were due with our boys in July 2003. I have visited her home twice and we have grown into great friends. I simply think this woman is wonderful. I was always envious of her love for Disney. Her trips seemed out of my realm. I couldn’t really even comprehend a trip. It just seemed too far fetched. I had never been to WDW. Ever. Even as a child, I didn't think it was something that we could even do. I’m not really sure what the exact trigger was. But, I started looking online at prices. They shocked me….in a nice way. So, I calculated, crunched some numbers, conned my husband into giving me a little bit of our income tax money (hey…he spent some too fixing up his old car!) and I had a trip booked! My husband could not go however. He had no vacation time at work and frankly, still has no idea what I see in Disney World. He's one of "those". I convinced my sister, her son and my mom to come along. They didn’t argue with me. Not even a little.
My mom then invited her boyfriend and his son. Sidenote: my mother is 50. I don’t think boyfriend is the right word for her companion. What else could we call him? Special friend? Mate? Partner? Any ideas? Anyway, we went to the World back in November 2006. And had a blast! Despite me being on my death bed. I was sick, sick, sick. I have no desire to know whose germs I picked up in that airplane but they weren’t pretty. My temp got up to 103-104 and I was feeling horrible.
Still….it didn’t taint my views. I fell in love. I have the Disney bug. The magic snuck inside my sick body.
I HAD TO GO BACK! And now we are!
