The TRIP of all Trips... Ana's MAW PTR... *TR STARTED* Link- Post #1901 Pg. 127

Anyone who wouldn't let a child stand in front of them does not have the Disney spirit !!I too get upset when adults come strolling up and stand in front of me but the CM's usually move them along and don't let them squeeze their way in so I just wait for that to happen but a kid come on!!!

I agree. I have let many kids scoot up in front of me during the parades (I also try and find obscure places to sit so people leave me alone), but I am tall and there is no reason a kid who comes up to my hip can't stand in front of me. The parents are usually more than happy to stand behind me as long as they can see their kids.

Ok, I'm done watching that December ADR thread but I have a new thread obsession that is equally ridiculous that I just have to share. It's over on theme park boards and is quite heated actually. Want to know what it's about?? Letting a child in front of you to view the parade. I swear it's the honest to goodness truth. People are saying they don't care, nobody (not even a child) is allowed to step in front of them or obscure their coveted parade view in any way. Seriously, it's one of the most ridiculous threads I've read in awhile. Who wouldn't let a child stand in front of you? Of course I would and have but there are plenty who claim they won't, not even if the child were polite in asking.:sad2:

Unbelievable - very sad. It's probably the same people who wouldn't think to give up their seat on the bus to help someone else out who might need it more.

Hey!!!! :wave2:

Juliana has received some great gifts. She loves them all.

OK I AM OFFICIALLY JEALOUS!!!!!! So are you flying to Tampa or Arlington? ;) :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao: Okay, guess I wasn't clear on this one ... "HOME" Game 1 in da Bronx!!!
Got them for a steal ... considering what they started going for AFTER the Yanks clinched. I came into work yesterday and told my boss, I need to take a half day next Monday ... he knew why right away!! :lmao:

Mark said to tell you that he LIKES toys. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
LOL I like them too! :lmao:

The wig actually looked used (I know it wasn't, well, at least I hope it wasn't!) and then just proceeded to get uglier, more frazzled and then ended up looking like roadkill or something.
Well, I'm glad ours is back at the store!

Ya, that thread is insane. I read some of the most selfish posts I've ever read over there. People were all like 'it's my vacation, my money spent and I deserve my spot, why give it up for child who's parents didn't secure a better spot?' Crazy I tell ya. Then it morphed into a debate as to whether kids are more entitled than adults because adults are the ones paying, not the kids. I just can't imagine shoving a child out of the way or telling them that no, they can't stand in front of me because I was here first. Uh, hello, I'm an adult and not in Kindergarten anymore so I really don't think the whole "I was here first" is applicable!

Anywho, sorry for the tangent!
Don't be sorry! I'm glad you brought this to everyone's attention.

During parades we have been in the front and we have been in the back. If there is room we never hesitate to let some kids slide in front. I can't read anymore of that thread... I was getting too mad. :headache:

Not one flippin chance! IT's your destiny to be incessantly behind.

P.S. I took myself out of the TP& A threads long ago. There is plenty of good stuff here to read and generally they don't P*ss you off here.
My destiny huh? :darth:

I like the TP&A threads and usually it is very civil there. I stay away from the community board. FAR AWAY...

I do! :cloud9: I haven't taken my bands off except to go to sleep.
AWWWW.... :)

I have been reading this too. What people will do.
I know.... :sad2:

Anyone who wouldn't let a child stand in front of them does not have the Disney spirit !!I too get upset when adults come strolling up and stand in front of me but the CM's usually move them along and don't let them squeeze their way in so I just wait for that to happen but a kid come on!!!
I know Rosie. People need to chill out and relax a bit.

Kathy, I have a tag for you AND Rosie, but unfortunately I can't add them! :rotfl2:
Wonder what it could be? :confused3 :lmao:

Wow, this is such a great group! Congrats to everyone who takes part in such a worthy cause!!! :cheer2:
They are such a great group... a total opposite of the people who won't let children in front of them at parades. :lmao:

A cross stitch is usually one I try to make and stick that #@*&^$(^ needle in my finger!!! :lmao:
I thought that was a regular stitch. :confused3

It's all I can do to keep up with all the TRs and PTRs around here........and don't do a very good job of even that! :sad2:
I've been slacking too. :sad2:

Wow Tim, a lot of great updates I missed over a very busy weekend! All caught up now. Love all the gifts Juliana got! What a great group of people to do such wonderful work!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Such a special little girl and family to receive such blessings after all the challenges you have had! Not surprised she chose the package with the princess on it first, and she definitely looks like a little princess in her Christmas dress! What a beautiful job and love that went into such a wonderful creation for her, and all the gifts she received! :yay: And the best part is that she isn't handling any of this selfishly, but is doing such a great job giving her love back in her own way with her special thank you's! What a special little girl!!!!!! :cheer2:
Marv.... she has received such wonderful gifts and is very excited about our trip. The people from the Big Give are so great and unselfish. It is amazing what they do for Wish families.

I have another update coming up and I took a little video of her... she was very silly.

Yes Marv you can stand in front of me at a Parade !!!I gave you wooden spoons and you might use them if I didn't let you!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
UMMMM.... this is a family thread guys! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Did I miss anything? I've been away and planning a funeral.

The trip's not done yet, right? Any changes? Juliana's getting her tea party, right?

Sorry again! After I posted, I worried that it might start a debate on your thread. I swear, I'm not a thread hijacker!

Ditto on the community boards too. Trip reports are much nicer and more friendly!:goodvibes

I don't know what happened earlier.. I missed a few posters!

How nice of you... don't you think most people would do the same? Apparently not. :sad2:

Unbelievable - very sad. It's probably the same people who wouldn't think to give up their seat on the bus to help someone else out who might need it more.
There is a Man Law on the DIS Dad's CLub thread that states: 'No DIS Dad will sit in seat while a woman, child, disabled or elderly person stands on bus... unless there is to many people between you to offer the seat (example: I'm in back and person is in front of bus and 15 people standing in between) or you are holding children.'

Maybe I should bring the 'letting a kid in front of you to see the parade' thought up to the group...

:lmao:
I knew what you meant..... I was just giving you a hard time! :lmao:

BTW... I'm still jealous! :rotfl2:

Sorry, you keep reminding us this is a family thread.... :rolleyes1
I should stop doing that... I'd like to know what you are thinking from time to time!

Well, yeah, I guess you're right. They never start out as cross stitches.....
NOPE!

Can't wait to see that one! :woohoo:
Coming up soon.

Gee, will I be AWAKE for this update?
I think you will be up... coming up soon.

Control your readers, Tim! :lmao:
I can't.... it is a zoo in here! :lmao::lmao:

I must admit I like it though.... :rolleyes1

Did I miss anything? I've been away and planning a funeral.
I checked out your thread... I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

The trip's not done yet, right? Any changes? Juliana's getting her tea party, right?
Still planning and there hasn't been any major changes. We still haven't heard about the tea party yet. :headache:

Sorry again! After I posted, I worried that it might start a debate on your thread. I swear, I'm not a thread hijacker!
Don't worry about it. You can hi-jack here anytime you like. pirate:

Ditto on the community boards too. Trip reports are much nicer and more friendly!:goodvibes
You got that right!

OH look at you 5 days away!!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Well, I'm not planning to hijack again!:goodvibes

Yup, only 5 days away and I'm doubled over with a stupid stomach bug.:headache: I have about a million things to do before we leave, I don't have time to be sick. At least my DH and 3DD's aren't sick, yet! I won't even think it because I just know I'm going to jinx them!

Wow, you still haven't heard about the tea party? Maybe you should just show up for it!:thumbsup2

Today when I was going through the mail there was an envelope addressed to Juliana from Lake Buena Vista, FL. I started wondering what I bought or what could of been sent to us. I almost opened it myself but I figured I could have Juliana open it and take a few pics.

I told her she had a letter from Florida. When we say Florida to Juliana she immediately thinks Disney. When she sees Florida license plates she says 'Look! That car is from Disney!!!'

She finally got the envelope open and pulled out a paper with a Tinker Bell gift card on it.

We couldn't believe that someone sent a gift card and the generous amount that was on there!

I asked her if she wanted to say a thank you for the gift card and she said yes.

Click on the picture for the video:

After I taped her she asked if she could do a gift card dance. I didn't know what that would consist of but I said sure and I just started taping. Click on the picture for the video:

As you can see, Juliana was excited!!!!!!!! She was a being a NUT!

Melody and I would like to thank the Laxton's for the generous gift!!!!! Thank you so much! Juliana cannot wait to use it!

More Pixie Dust coming up in a minute!! :goodvibes

Ahh, the Big Give strikes again!!!!! Okay - does your heart just zoom when ever you see her so happy and healthy like that?? She is an amazing little girl!!!!:cloud9:

How sweet! It warms my heart to know there are still so many kind ,generous people in the world! :goodvibes

Juliana had just finished opening up her gift card and doing her dance when we were about to start playing. I opened up the front door to get some more light into the living room when I saw a package on our stairs. I couldn't believe my eyes and Juliana couldn't believe it either!

DSC09956.jpg

She got a kick out of the Mickey on the outside!

DSC09957.jpg

Juliana couldn't wait to see what was inside...

DSC09960.jpg

She pulled out a package.

DSC09961.jpg

She looked at the wrapped package and said "Daddy, it's not my birthday.' I was laughing at her and told her it didn't have to be her birthday to open a wrapped gift.

DSC09963.jpg

She got the paper off and saw the box. She said 'What is this? A shirt from K-Mart?' Oh man, she was on a roll! :lmao:

She opened the box and pulled out the most beautiful book...

It was a homemade autograph book with Juliana's name was on it. There were pages for the autographs and spots to put her pictures in too. There was a package of princess stickers too.

Juliana loved her autograph book! Thank you mommy2mrb!!!! What a thoughtful gift that I'm sure will be full of signatures when we get home.
