The TRIP of all Trips... Ana's MAW PTR... *TR STARTED* Link- Post #1901 Pg. 127

Ugh, do yourself (and Juliana!) a favor and NEVER ride Stitch's Great Escape. DH and I made the mistake of taking our 3DD's (they were 5, 7 and 8) and they screamed bloody murder!

I completely agree with this! I didn't like Alien Encounter that much but it was so much better than Stitch's Great Escape.

I have never done the Haunted Mansion nor the Riverboat and I am really hoping that we get to do both of them in 2 weeks time. Although I can't remember ever riding the Astro Orbiter but I know that can't be true.

I hope MAW lets you know soon so you can plan! :goodvibes

We have done every single ride at the MK so I can't answer that one. I guess the one I would say, since it has been clsoed the last several trips and we've only done it maybe twice, is the Liberty Square Riverboat.

You've even done the Main Street vehicles? I always forget about them until we leave the park.

We never have rose it either! Here is a confession... I'm not even sure what it is! :rotfl2:

:scared1: SHAME! ;) The last scene is completely cheese-tastic! It's incredible because of it's history - built for the World's Fair, and it was ground breaking back then. It really is kinda neat, and educational! It's one of my favorites, but Henry has a hard time sitting through it yet.

For me it's the Haunted Mansion and the Riverboat. Especially the Riverboat. Every single trip we walk past it and I say "We should ride that" and we keep walking. :rotfl:

Hi Tim,
I found your PTR from Brookelizabeth's (everyone loves her, huh?:goodvibes). I'm working on reading all the updates, but have been through the first few pages. Wow, that's all I can say. I recently had a baby girl three months ago, and cannot imagine what Juliana, Mel, and you have been through. She looks wonderful for everything that has been thrown at her. I am a volunteer wish granter for MAW in greater Cincinnati, so I am absolutely excited that you will be going on this trip! Congratulations and I look forward to reading more.:goodvibes

I am trying to think of something I have neve ridden there, and the only thing I can think of is COP. I kind of want to see it, especially now since I read about about Walt, but really never had a desire before, and can live without seeing it, if we don't get the chance.
I've never done Astro Orbitor, nor do I have a desire too. And haven't done stich, but I did do it when it was Alien encounter, and I have to say that was the SCARIEST thing I have ever done. My friends 17 year old brother was with us, and he screamed like a little girl though it. :lmao:

You've even done the Main Street vehicles? I always forget about them until we leave the park.

I always foget about those too. I don't think I've ever done any of them either.

Did you make it on HM this past trip? Or are you gonna make us wait for that answer?

J
1)What ride/attraction in the MK have you always wanted to ride/see but never had the chance?

For me I want to ride the Astro Orbiter but it never works out. Either the line is really long or we just skip it to head to something else. We haven't seen Stitch's Great Escape and really have no desire to! :lmao:

I've never been on Snow White's Scary Adventure. Madison doesn't do well with scary rides. I don't know exactly how scary it is, but, well, it has "scary" right in the name...
Also, Astro Orbiter is a great ride. Yeah, it's basically the same as Dumbo, the carpets, etc, but being up that high really adds a cool dimension too it. The one time we rode it was just about sunset, so the sky behind the castle was amazing.

I really wish MAW would let you know so that you could get on with your planning.

We have done every single ride at the MK so I can't answer that one. I guess the one I would say, since it has been closed the last several trips and we've only done it maybe twice, is the Liberty Square Riverboat.
I've been waiting patiently! :)

Are there any good views from the boat? I bet the view is the best part. :)

Hmmm, I've never done the railroad. Each trip I say I'm going to but then the time flies by and it just doesn't happen. Maybe I'll finally do it this upcoming trip!
I rode the railroad by myself but Juliana has never rode it. I bet she would get a kick out of riding it.

I hope you get the chance to ride it!

Ugh, do yourself (and Juliana!) a favor and NEVER ride Stitch's Great Escape. DH and I made the mistake of taking our 3DD's (they were 5, 7 and 8) and they screamed bloody murder! Actually there was a collective wailing from many kids once the lights went out! My youngest DD kept begging me to get her out of there but we were strapped into those harness shoulder things. So, be a good father and never subject your sweet girl to it!
LOL Note taken!

I don't think I've ever read anywhere on these boards that someone liked it. :confused3

Gonna try to work in TTA and Carousel of Progress on our upcoming trip. Never done either of those before and would like to. Haven't done the riverboat since I was a kid, and you had to use a lettered ticket to ride it (C,D,E????) which I guess is really dating myself! :lmao:
Hummm... I might have to try the Carousel of Progress.

{cough} I don't think I was alive when Disney had the lettered tickets.{cough} :rolleyes1

Darn, your old (and you can't come back and say I am--not a nice way to talk to a lady!).
:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I'm not touching this! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

2 weeks!!!!!

It looks like you have a list of must-do's! You HAVE to ride the Haunted Mansion! It is such a 'scary' ride!!!! :scared1:

I hope MAW lets you know soon so you can plan! :goodvibes
We are waiting for the phone call. :goodvibes

You've even done the Main Street vehicles? I always forget about them until we leave the park.
We have never done the Main St. vehicles either. We are usually on Main St. just to walk though. We haven't spent a ton of time here.... unless you consider shopping in the Emporium Main St. :lmao:

:scared1: SHAME! ;) The last scene is completely cheese-tastic! It's incredible because of it's history - built for the World's Fair, and it was ground breaking back then. It really is kinda neat, and educational! It's one of my favorites, but Henry has a hard time sitting through it yet.
I think I need to research this. I think if I knew the history, I'd be more willing to make it a point to ride. Sounds like Juliana might not be as happy. :lmao:

For me it's the Haunted Mansion and the Riverboat. Especially the Riverboat. Every single trip we walk past it and I say "We should ride that" and we keep walking. :rotfl:
:rotfl2::rotfl2: Sounds like us!

Carousel of Progress
Seems like this is a popular one!

Hi Tim,
I found your PTR from Brookelizabeth's (everyone loves her, huh?:goodvibes).
:welcome: Thanks for reading!

Brooke is very popular around here! :lmao::lmao:

I'm working on reading all the updates, but have been through the first few pages. Wow, that's all I can say. I recently had a baby girl three months ago, and cannot imagine what Juliana, Mel, and you have been through. She looks wonderful for everything that has been thrown at her.
She really is a strong little girl and has dealt with all she has been through very well.

I am a volunteer wish granter for MAW in greater Cincinnati, so I am absolutely excited that you will be going on this trip! Congratulations and I look forward to reading more.:goodvibes
Are you a wish granter? What do you do for MAW?

I was thinking after our trip is over contacting MAW and seeing is they were in need of a Disney connoisseur to help families that were going to Disney. :goodvibes

No Astro Orbiter for you? Is it too high or something?

I wish I was there to see your friends brother! :lmao::lmao:

Yes do tell Brooke! :surfweb:

I've never been on Snow White's Scary Adventure. Madison doesn't do well with scary rides. I don't know exactly how scary it is, but, well, it has "scary" right in the name...
We haven't done it either. (Geez, you'd think we haven't been on anything!)
We WILL be trying it in December. Juliana just recently saw Snow White for the first time a few weeks ago.

Also, Astro Orbiter is a great ride. Yeah, it's basically the same as Dumbo, the carpets, etc, but being up that high really adds a cool dimension too it. The one time we rode it was just about sunset, so the sky behind the castle was amazing.
That sounds like a perfect time to ride it! That is one ride that sticks out while riding the monorail. I need to get on it! ::yes::

I have a question to ask everyone....

1)What ride/attraction in the MK have you always wanted to ride/see but never had the chance?

For me I want to ride the Astro Orbiter but it never works out. Either the line is really long or we just skip it to head to something else. We haven't seen Stitch's Great Escape and really have no desire to! :lmao:

Hmm...that is a hard one! I don't think there is anything I've missed at the MK!

I have never done the Hall of Presidents.....not sure if I really want to though.

The River boat and Tom Sawyer's Island.

Went there as a kid, but haven't been back since. We keep saying that we need to make time for it one trip.

I think I've ridden all I want too at MK!!
I agree with Stitch not good for kids !!!:scared1: Other than that I don't think I've missed any I want to do!!
We all lnow I don't do roller coasters or things that spin fast or go up to high !!No desire to do speedway either but the kids LOVE it !!!
Just thought of one Laugh Floor ..Can you believe I have never done it although the kids have !!!! Mental note next month add Laugh Floor !!!:rotfl2:

Believe it or not, I've never been on the Carosel of Progress:confused3. I'd like to go on it at least once to see what all the hub bub is about.

Timmy...um Tim,

There were 2 things I had NEVER done at the MK.

1] Astro Orbiter. Same as you line was too long...never got back to it.

Well on my trip I just got back from...we rode this ride at night...line was short...and we were trying to avoid that "new" parade (not a fan...miss Spectromagic). The view from up there was totaly awesome at night. You should really do this. :thumbsup2

2] Riverboat...never have done this...for some reason...don't think I ever will.

I have never done the Hall of Presidents.....not sure if I really want to though.

Oh, thats another one I don't think I've done. If I have, I don't remember it. My DH has done it once though while Claire and I watched a parade.

I have never done the Hall of Presidents.....not sure if I really want to though.

You really should give HoP a shot...nice and cool...some decent history...plus you get to see Robama supposedly giving a speach without a teleprompter. :lmao:

If nothing else you could catch a quick nap.

The River boat and Tom Sawyer's Island.

Went there as a kid, but haven't been back since. We keep saying that we need to make time for it one trip.

We went to Tom Sawyers Island last year...my 10 year old had fun. :rolleyes1

Believe it or not, I've never been on the Carosel of Progress:confused3. I'd like to go on it at least once to see what all the hub bub is about.

CoP I love it cause it is a Walt Disney original. Also a few Hidden Mickeys. 3 in the last scene. My favorite is the Sorcerer's hat...think it's in the 60's scene...it's in the fall and everyone is getting ready for halloween.

Hmm...that is a hard one! I don't think there is anything I've missed at the MK!
LOL I believe you! ::yes:: :rotfl2:

I have never done the Hall of Presidents.....not sure if I really want to though.
Hmmmmm.... haven't done it either. I think it is tough bringing a 2-4 year in there. :confused3

The River boat and Tom Sawyer's Island.

Went there as a kid, but haven't been back since. We keep saying that we need to make time for it one trip.
Besides taking a little break and letting the kids blow off a little steam, you aren't missing much on Tom Sawyer's island. But there is the reward of finding those paint brushes in the am.

I think I've ridden all I want too at MK!!

No Laugh Floor? You have to do this. We missed it in March and I was a little sad we couldn't fit it in.

You don't do coasters? I think Thunder Mountain is a pretty tame coaster. You should shock your family and ride that one! :lmao:
