The trip of 2 Birthdays, 3 Resorts, and 79 Pins ~ Update 8/14

Somehow I missed lots of updating!

-I love the flying carpet pictures - super cute!
-I ALWAYS forget which pins I have, especially of Stitch, since he's my favorite and I buy at least one on every Disney visit.
-There's absolutely nothing wrong with wedding stalking. You made me feel like a celebrity! :goodvibes
-I had no idea Disney would move your luggage from one resort to another. Hmm... this might convince Doug to change resorts come February. ;)
-Boatwright's sounds yummy!
-And I'm curious what your upgrade was!

•I seriously can't get over the rooms at POR. They're so amazing!
•The Poly looks amazing, as always. The grounds are always so peaceful and relaxing.
•I cannot believe how that construction around the WP looks. Crazy stuff.
•Can we have another update soon? :)

Lol... I used to take pictures of all of my pins before I left--but I forgot this time. Note to self for the future! Next installment coming right up.... you don't want to miss this one, lol!!

UGH! I don't know if I've commented in here or not!! I'm definitely reading along though! I looooovvveee your TRs. Something interesting ALWAYS happens!!

-love, love, love your room at POR!!! Soooo cool!
-There's nothing wrong with stalking a fellow Disbride's wedding. (this coming from a fellow stalker!!)
-I want to stay at the Poly, but there's a HUGE problem with that. We're too damn cheap!!! :lmao: We're staying value for our anniversary, because the rates are so freakin awesome in Sept!! (I've convinced him to upgrade for 3 of the 8 days!)
-I can't wait to see your room!!!!

This is a poor excuse for a set of comments, but I feel like I should put forth the effort to update my own TR.. since I'm here and all!! :rolleyes1

Lol--we both stalked on the same day--different weddings. I find that entertaining!! I've been reading yours too... but I never comment from my phone. About the Poly... sometimes you just have to hold your breath and give them your card number :rotfl::lmao: It is totally worth it if you're going to spend your time there for a day or two!!

Ooh cliffhanger again! I want to see what your upgrade is.

So happy for you making plans to move and massively jealous! Hope everything goes well and you find somewhere to live. :cool1:

Thanks!!! It's been crazy preparing to go look at places!! I'm so excited!!

* Sounds like you had a fun day of shopping! I love DTD. I had a ton of fun there on our honeymoon when I had a nice gift card full of cash to spend!
* Boatwrights looks pretty good - especially that dessert! We haven't eaten there because there are so many other places we want to try, and I hadn't heard great things about it. But maybe on a future POR trip we'll check it out!
* I haven't stayed deluxe, but even when I do taking into consideration the prices and stuff I think POR will still remain my favorite resort. And now that they have those Princess rooms, I can't wait to try those!
* I feel you about the cab vs. Disney transportation. I'm always hesitant to let my luggage out of my sight. When I was in England I took a bus from Oxford to the London airport and my luggage was underneath the bus - and they still lost it!! Turns out they unloaded it at the wrong terminal. I got it back but it was a crazy, awful process and I almost missed my flight. So I don't let my luggage out of my sight now if I can help it. When I get off the airplane one of the best feelings is seeing my luggage come around at the baggage claim!
* What gorgeous pictures of the Poly! My aunt and uncle are taking my 6 year old cousins to Disney for the first time in just a few days, and they are staying at the Poly! I'm so excited for them!
* I hope you were able to catch a glimpse of Kristen's wedding! I totally would've been stalking it too!

You will lovvvvvvvve the Royal Rooms!!! I'm really weird about letting my luggage leave me. I really don't like "processes" lol. I hope your family has a great time at the Poly!!!!

-Oh, wow! Look at that view. I am drooling over here.
-No, stalking Kristen is perfectly normal. Not creepy at all. We really do live in our own little world.
-Oh, the crane. ☹
-You are making me desperately want to stay at the Poly! Desperately. So much so that I just priced out NYE there, but I don’t think Chris would like me very much anymore if I booked at that price…
-Ha! I love your super-sneaky Kristen stalking.
-And ugh, that mess. I hope that DVC is done soon.

Lol NYE at the Poly :rotfl2: I bet it's at least a million dollars! I actually think I may book the Little Mermaid for that night. Just so we don't have to drive. I say that now... I'll be at the Yacht Club, lol. I hope DVC is done soon too so you can stay there!!! I'm a little obsessed with crane pictures--I can't help it.

Where are the people??? I have never seen the Poly beach so desolate, even the sidewalk is empty - a sight to behold - just that one lonely swinger out there:rotfl:. Maybe the trick to enjoying the Poly is to only go in the off-season and visit the lounge in between service? I'm so glad your Poly stay has started off on such a high note. Can't wait for the upgraded room review. When are the Lapu Lapus and Kona Kones?!

It was pretty quiet that morning!! Poly Punch and Longboard to come later!!!

YAY for an update. Beautiful pics! The Poly is a whole world in itself. Part of the world, but feels so tropical...when we were there, I had all eyes on my home awy from home the GF...thanks for the pics! aticipating many more wonderful ones...so sweet of them to get offerings even though it was "transition time":goodvibes

I was really surprised by their hospitality!!! I was impressed. I finally understood what everyone meant by "hanging in the lounge". I never really hung out at the YC lounge, or at Paradise Pier, but I did sit around in the Tower Club a bit. This lounge was meant for relaxing and watching the surroundings!! I really did love it.

Next installment coming up!!!

Day 3 Continued!

Sorry for the interruption! So here's some more pictures as we left the Grand Floridian!

So it was really hot. Miserable, sweaty, sun beating on you hot. DH wanted to get back to the room, but I started to see people come out of the Wedding Pavilion. I was proud of myself for the timing. It was only a matter of minutes before Kristen would come out!!!

DH was really warm and had no interest in my idea. I gave him the room number and told him to move along, because I was staying. I took my flops off and took a little walk in the sand while I waited. I took about 100 pictures of the lagoon's surroundings while I waited and melted. I won't bore you with all of them:

Next I saw Rev. Tim Herring walk my way. He married me, and just got done marrying Kristen. We talked for a few minutes. If you read my TR, we had some issues, and for the record, he apologized for all the mix ups. I know he marries a ton of people--so mine was just bad luck! He really is very nice. He loves pictures, and took a picture of me on the beach... Not the best--but I'll share.

Next is where I made a $300 mistake. I was trying to get my phone to the Disbride's Facebook Page so I could post LIVE. It was sunny and I couldn't see my phone. Then... she comes out with her husband and Randy Chapman the photographer!! I start to fumble. The iPhone or the Camera were going to fall, and I could only save one. It all happened soooooo fast. My camera tumbled into the sand, and if I could have only seen the whole scene in slow-motion it would be rather entertaining. I picked it up, shook if off, and started snapping pics of Kristen. I got 2 on my iPhone for FB, this one on my camera:

IMG_3148.jpg

Then Randy yelled for me to come over! I never expected that, I was just thinking I was a stalker from afar, lol. The closer I got, the more beautiful she was! He got a few photos with us, I extended my congrats, and I decided it was time to go see what our upgrade was! I'm so glad I saw them!

IMG_3150.jpg

So as I left, I was really enjoying walking thru the Poly and taking it all in. I called DH and he told me we were the very last room on the left and that I had to see it for myself. I was excited, and nervous, and I couldn't wait to get there!!

Because I'm probably near my photo limit, I'm going to stop here for a minute. I'll be back with another update in a few when I get to:

Our Poly Upgrade Unveiled

So for the Hawaii Building, I knew there was Garden View, Lagoon View, and Theme Park View. I had spent some time looking at the building, and just didn't see how any of the rooms facing the water couldn't be a TPV. Apparently TPV does not have any obstructions blocking the Magic Kingdom. I was excited to enter the room!!

It took my breath away.

DH said it was time for lunch, so we played the "well what do you want" game. We decided to try Captain Cooks. We both got a flatbread and we shared a side of chips. It was pretty good!! I'm glad we tried it!!

IMG_3173.jpg

I got on Tikiman's site while we were there, and found that our room was the only 3rd floor room to be considered Lagoon. All the other 3rd floor rooms in Hawaii are TPV. Soooooo a little tip would be to book Lagoon and request our room! I thought you could see perfectly!!! I guess since Sunset Pointe has the high trees they find those obtrusive. I didn't! It was amazing!

We finished our lunch and made it back to the room. I may run out of photo room so I'll leave this at... To Be Continued!

Hi Deena,

Amazing view from your room!!

Great update too, the Poly looks wonderful and we cannot wait to stay there for the first time in October :goodvibes

Deena my lovely Poly looks beautiful! Glad you enjoyed your stay there. It really is like a completely separate world from Disney!

Absolutely beautiful pictures! I LOVE the one of you standing on the beach holding your sandals! Thank you for the great update! pixiedust:

Me, too - love 'em all!

That was so funny that you were worried about stalking and the bride ended-up taking pictures with the stalker:rotfl:. I like your room advice about a 3rd floor CL/LV. Is your sandy camera OK?

More TR, please!!!!

Your room looks beautiful. So what happened to the camera? With being a $300 mistake I assume it needed to be repaired or replaced?

Love the Poly pics!!!! And :woohoo: for the upgrade!!! We made the mistake of letting Faith and Jesse's first trip to WDW be a deluxe stay... Poly TPV CL!! Now they think that's the only way to travel! The CL lounge view can hardly be beat!!

Enjoyed seeing the construction at the GF. The pool looks like it is completely surrounded by construction:eek: My parents want to take a GF trip in December...not sure if that's smart or not:confused:

•....And now from these pictures you have totally convinced me to stay at the Poly, as well. I knew I wanted to stay here at some point, but now I may make it a point to stay here relatively soon.
•Seriously, that view is gorgeous!
•Those flatbreads are making me super hungry...

Love your report so far! :goodvibes

Thanks for all of the room pictures - both POR and the Poly. 2 amazing rooms so far! You guys are lucky! And those Capt. Cooks flatbreads look deeeeelicious!

You're totally right about the relaxed atmosphere at the Poly...just seeing your pictures is taking me to a warm, happy place. Ahh...:cloud9:

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

She always keeps us in suspense..it's not like she's busy planning a trip next week to relocate or anything :rotfl:

What a wonderful view from your room, I hope you were able to enjoy the fireworks from there.

Great pictures. I don't usually like 'scenery' shots but at Disney it is perfectly acceptable (and obligatory!) and I love looking at them!

Apparently, I'm a stalker! I am booking Jason Angelini for our wedding and I recognized you because of your hair from his blog. I actually have a photo of you on one of my Pinterest boards!

Awesome trip report!

-Ugh. I really wish I were at the Poly right now, instead of on my couch. Just sayin.
-Love the Disbride pics together! So much!!!
-Oh, your view is amazing. I am entirely jealous. And happy for you too!
-I adore Disney’s house-made chips. They’re wonderfully delicious.

Subscribing! I loved your PJ and am loving this too! We've stayed at POR twice and just adore it.

I am loving your trip report!!! What a view! Ahhh I love it!!

Deena you guys are such a beautiful couple! And your dog is so stinkin' cute!

Thanks for posting all of those detailed pics of the Royal Room. We just switched to there from the Poly and I was a little nervous, but those rooms are so beautiful I feel a lot better!
