Morning sure does come early here in Florida. Up, shower and a quick bite and off to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours until its time to go to Ft Wilderness and ride horses. We stop at the Transportation kiosk and find out that a quick boat ride will take us right there and badda bing badda boom I'm sure the horses will be right there waiting for us.
The day is hot and humid (and this is different that any other day?) and after a few rides and a snack it back to the CBR for a change of clothes and back to the Magic Kingdom to the ferry. The Disney transportation system is awesome and the ferry is waiting right there for us. Now, here we are, dressed in long pants and DW and DD are in tennis shoes and yours truely is dressed like a real cowboy and is wearing his boots. What do you mean there is no air conditioning on this boat? I know they can do that, I've been on ships before. Eh, its vacation so who cares. The ferry lets us off at FT Wilderness but...no horses waiting? No signs? This doesn't look good.
We walk up to the bus waiting there and ask about horses and where to ride them. Once again the Disney Magic works and its the very bus to the horsey place. A quick ride and there they be...horseys!
As I gaze over to the horses I remind myself I can drive a 240 horse power car, how bad can a 1 horse power horse be? The leader comes over with Casper, a horse that is about 350 feet high and I find out its mine. I climb aboard and Casper is anxious to go...except we have to wait and Casper doesn't really want to. Where's the brake? Casper walks over to the gate and tries to open it...without official Disney permission...never mind the guy on his back. DW and DD have thier horses and off we go. Casper wanting to lead but a firm "please Casper" and he falls right where he is supposed to. I flew 4000 miles to drive a horse and its wonderful. 40 billion dollars worth of high technology rides and I'm busting a gut here on a horse. ITS GREAT. Life is good and Disney is awesome.
In the middle of the ride it starts to rain...and we're poncho-less. No matter, the bus takes us to MGM and then we're back to the hotel...wet but who cares. We change, grab a bite and back to the Kingdom and the parade.
I miss Casper and that is definitely a must do for 2005.
AK tomorrow and more animals.
