The top 5 best tips this NEWBIE got from the DIS

:rotfl2: at the longhorn that caught our color! Would you like to Borrow it Wendyinaustin? giggle!!!

Yeah the powerstrip thing was awesome. It really helped.

Soonerplnr I will give you the low down...When's lunch?

My dd and I bought our Bagalinnis at a local travel shop in a 'chic' mall. They were more the purse style bec we only wanted to have one bag on our trip to Italy. For that purpose, they worked quite well. You could fit a lot of stuff ito those bags!

When do you go back to school? J starts back on the 14th. How about we meet in Norman before the season starts for some food, drinks and some Disney talk? (with some OU thrown in there of course!) Let me know!

glad to hear you had a great time!

As we were leaving I would giggle to the people I saw getting to the park at noon....What were they thinking?

ummmmm, that would be people like us :rolleyes1
in our defense:
we did do rope drops years & years ago. now that we go two or 3 times a year, we tend to sleep until 7 or so, lay by the pool or play mini-golf, go to a park for lunch and/or dinner, and maybe go on a ride or two (we have APs).

btw, i love my bagallini also ~ definately one (actually, i have two) of the best investments i ever made!

now start planning for your next trip;)

A Baggalini is a brand of messenger bag that many members of the DIS recommend as the perfect Disney bag. Many members have it in lime green as that is the official DIS color. I tried mine out on our trip to Tennessee in July and it worked out pretty well.

Maggie

Ok you got me, I had to look this up, I'd never heard of them! So I have a few pictures in my head, and sure enough one that I had in my head pops up. I shook my head:sad2: it looks like something my teenage daughter would wear! I call her the "bag lady".:goodvibes Everytime she see's bags she has to have one!

SoonerPln I go back on the 13th kids the 20th.

Call me I would love to meet up...Tell POOH HI for me.

Just take mine...You can borrow it...It's Crimson..I know that shocks you.:rotfl2:

Baggalini's come in colors other than lime green? :lmao:

Maggie

Ooh! A Crimson Baggalini. That sounds like it would be the most fantastic Baggalini in the world. I mean really, what a cool Baggalinni? You could put a wonderful Script Letter A on it. It would be fantastic! You could accessorize with an old fashioned man's hounds tooth hat. That would be really, really awesome. It sounds like it would be wonderful to take to football games on a Saturday afternoon.

Its good to see that there are Bama fans in Oklahoma as well. :rolleyes1

ROLL TIDE!

Lime Green would be tempting too, but not like a Crimson one. BTW, why would anyone want an orange Baggalini?

What size/style are most of you getting? I had never heard of this bag and googled it -- expecting to find 1 bag. I had no idea there would be so many styles to choose from. Any suggestions on which one would work best for the parks?

TIA!

How easy is it to wear the Baggallini Messenger across the front? I want to buy one bag and use it for DW and Europe - where you want your bag in front and your hand on it at all times.

Thank you,
Pat

Hello -

Most DIS'ers have the Messenger...here's the link...

I'm trying my lime green one for the first time - we leave tomorrow for the World!

Thanks so much for the link :goodvibes Looks bigger then I imagined, but not too big. I think I will go ahead and order one. Looks perfect for carrying water bottles and suck around the park :thumbsup2

I probably wore mine to the front more than to the back...
It always seemed like I was getting something out of there and on the rides I would swing it to the front.

FYI, I was debating b/t the Baggallini and the Heys bags. I ordered the Heys simply because it was $24 w/ shipping from HSN, and not $40...so I'm cheap, sue me! Anyway, it doesn't have the slots for cards and such, but my goodness, it holds everything! There are more pockets and zippers in this than I could ever imagine, and my DH isn't scared of it! It also comes w/ and LED light, passport holder (for those who don't care about lanyards, but want the hands free storage) and detachable mirror. I think it's going to be great. I'm just sorry I won't be one of the REALLY cool ones w/ a Baggalini. But I WILL know who my follow DIS'ers are!!!;)

[This has turned into a "bag" thread, rather than tips, but I got some great tips here last year.

Pop up laundry hampers. I brought 3 (bought them in the $ store). 2 I put under the sink counter in the bathroom (we stayed in the Poly) and put dirty clothes in them. It worked out so good, because they weren't in the way in my suitcase and I could easily grab the whole hamper and go over to the laundry room with it.
The 3rd hamper I put in the bedroom area for all of our shoes. As soon as we came back from the parks, we put our shoes in there and we knew where they were when we were ready to go again. This was great because I didn't have the kids whining about not being able to find their shoes, when I was rushing to make a RD or ADR.

Hanging shoe organizer The kind that velcros over the rod in the closet and has shelves. I also bought this in the dollar store and it was used to put our stuff in, one shelf for each person. DH put his wallet and KTTK card, on his shelf, I put my camera and FP holder on mine and the kids put their little swing packs. Again this saved us looking all over for stuff in the mornings. We each knew our stuff was on our shelf.

Small suction hooks great for sticking to the tile wall in the BR and hanging wet bathing suits on. There is never enough places to hang those wet suits.

Packing for the kids in ziplock bags. This made it so easy to pull out an outfit in the morning.

Powerstrip This has been mentioned, but it was great for plugging everything in and keeping it all in one spot.

These tips were all picked up here and they really helped me, so I hope they can help someone else as well. I am planning on taking all of these items with me again in 39 days when we go.

Oh my gosh, I forgot the Lime Green Mickey! Good thing I have still got 30 plus days to get to a Home Depot!! :lmao:

These, plus all the others, are SO GOOD TO SEE! As a newby to WDW planning, I'm so overwhelmed! This thread has really helped me calm down a bit. Whew! Thanks!

LUVDISNEY...I did those all as well. The laundry pop ups were nice and made keeping the room easier.

One more tip. I got a Lanyard and it had a plastic holder on it. It allowed me to keep everyones keys and fastpasses safe and near me.
