Well it was fun at the Toontown event with one minor little problem… Okay a few minor little problems. First the good, then the bad.

The good.

It was great to see old friend and meet new ones, I had a blast trading and getting together.

They gave us the old Time Keepers place all to ourselves, it was very well air-conditioned and it was very comfortable in there.

The games were good everybody was winning even if you lost, and they were handing out AP pins at the games.

The food was great the breakfast was a good healthy assortment of food.

Letting you get the pins the day before was great, all you had to do was show up and play the next day, no carrying of pins or bags.

The surprise (not really a surprise) gift was well worth the admission of the event, lets be real you could sell the gift on ebay and pay for the cost of your ticket, then everything else would be a bonus.

It was semi well organized, there were some hiccups but for the most part it was handled well.

They gave us all cotton candy, and we were all on a sugar buzz that kept us bouncing off the walls.

They have a cool kids area with plenty for the kids to do, and their boards was at times better than the adults board.

Now the bad

#1 we never actually ever got to go to Toontown. We stayed in tomorrow land the whole time, so it should have been the Tomorrowland event.

#2 we were supposed to take the train to Toontown, but since we were not in Toontown we could not take the train, and it really did not matter because the trains were not running anyway. So we had to walk and I met the train engineer who was on his way to wake the train up, and he was as confused as we were.

#3 Disney has computers that run everything, including the air-conditioning, it seems nobody told the computer to turn on the environmental systems early today, so we started out eating breakfast in a very hot building which according to the computer was not scheduled to house people until 9:00am.

#4 the food was great until they started to run out, lets face it we pin people need lots of food to get energy to carry those large pin bags. After it starting running out all we got was a sorry we’re out.

The pin trading area was great very well air conditioned, lots of room, but I keep getting the impression that Disney just wants our money then want us to leave. They rush us in, give us our pins, and shove us into a corner somewhere away from the real guest, giving us little activities to keep us busy and inside, like the trade board, if you bypassed breakfast which was hard because they had event Nazi’s at ever corner making sure you didn’t even think about going into other parts of the park, or for that matter Toontown for the Toontown event. You did get some great pins, but the rest of the day all I heard was they were so so pins up there. The trade board line was very long I know some people that stood in line for over an hour to get to the boards.

To get to the games you got confused, first they told you, you had to go through the trade board line to get to the games, then they let a few people play the games without going through the trade board line, all morning long they kept switching this back and forth, until they finally decided to let us play the games without going through the trade board line.

They made us line up for the second RSP, and did not tell us it was just for the list to see if we got anything, so some people stood in line for about 45 minutes just to learn they got nothing on their RSP.

The logo pin was not there Friday, it came in Saturday, so we had to stand in a very long line, to get the logo pin, and the line was about 30 minutes long. If the pin had come on Friday when it was supposed too; we would have had another 30 minutes to trade.

All in all I give it a 5 out of 10, it was not spectacular by any means, but it didn’t bite that bad, and it was tolerable.

Now tomorrow they said they would release the un-purchased pins to the public, I heard a rumor for us to be there because they said some Chip and Dale Artist proof were being released, if they do this and it for real, I will have a major COW!!! I did not get any on the first go round, and got nothing again on the second RSP. So if they release some tomorrow… I’m going to tar and feather somebody.

I guess I have just come to expect lines and waiting. It just seems to go with pin events. They weren't too awful, except for the pin trading board. It was awful!!! I was there with my mom in her scooter and did not want her to be bored waiting for me to be in that line. So iwas going to bypass it al-together. But she told me to go ahead. So I did. Then Fred came and joined me, and I know how he loves lines....NOT! So that was sweet of him. He figured we'd have four hopefully good pins instead of just two. Well, the ONLY good part of standing in line was seeing Cynthia awarded her "SCOOP" pin from SCOOP!! We were in line for an hour and a half at least. The there was nothing on the boards. Oh well, a pin friend in front of me managed to get a CTT from 2002 off the board right when I saw it. So that was great for her. Wish I could have gotten it. I know someone I'd love to have gifted/awarded it to. Oh well.

But anyway, it just was NOT worth it to stand there for SOooooo long and come away with nothing. Total bummer! Maybe they should have a couple places to do this instead of one. Just and idea.

The area was very nice, although it was funny as Ed said that it was NOT in "Toon town". Breakfast was nice as well. Potatoes were a bit too spicey for my tummy that early in the morning. And they were cold anyway. Fresh fruit was wonderful A++on that! And I loves that they had hot tea, my fav!

And I agree with Ed that the gift was really very nice and well worth admission price to recieve it, as well as the beautiful gold pin we got when we got our RSP merchandise on friday. Very nice!!

Anyway, as usual the best part was getting hugs and hello's etc from friends we haven't seen in so long. It was the best!!!

And it was also very special that Scoop was at the event to enjoy it with all of us. That made it extra special. We love you Scoop. And I'm glad mama got to meet you. Just so sorry you weren't there sunday to have seminar. I was looking forward to taking her to it. Maybe next time.

It was a nice time and we loved it!
Blessings,
Winnie

added GREATLY to the event...it was a kinda Scoop Seminar, but lasting for most of the morning and up until the end of the event! It was a highlight of the event...thanks Scoop!!!!!! I was one of those with a two hour line for the pin board, so it was great when Scoop came to talk with us during our wait!

To have Scoop be the MC...I mean who else would you have at a pin gathering but Scoop....I hope Disney has finally gotten it, and he will be with us in Epcot....It just isn't the same w/o him at these events.... Hey Disney ..Are You Listening???
