The Time Traveler's Wife

but it's a romance movie for a sci fi book

It's a romance novel, Josh. Did you read it? It's very much a romance novel with time-travel. I wouldn't say it was science-fiction at all, actually.

The book is more romance than sci-fi. I don't think you got much out of reading that book if you didn't notice an intense beautiful love story.

Audrey Niffineggar says that she doesn't think of it as science fiction at all. She says it's primarily about Clare and Henry's romance and the struggles they endure. Critics say she uses time-travel as a metaphor for how two lovers can feel like they've known each other their entire life. Personally, I agree. I think time-travel is just a metaphor, and it is used to show a couple's struggles.

TTW is NOT science fiction. It may have science fiction elements in it, but that doesn't make it a sci-fi book. Even I can tell that from reading a couple of quotes.

That's like saying Star Trek: 2009 is a romance movie because Spock and Uhura kissed. The theme was science fiction (wars between the planets in space) with romantic elements (Spock and Uhura, Kirk making out with that chick). The Time Traveler's Wife is the complete opposite. It's theme is romance (two lovers who know each other their whole life, even if they didn't know it) with sci-fi elements (time travel).

I did read it
Well, maybe you've been watching too much LOST, because TTW is absolutely not a science-fiction book.

I think the movie looks really well put together and constructed, and it seems like they have the idea right.
