The Tiki Room - under new mgmt - what's the story??

I have not been to The Tiki Room since I was a kid. I have always been curious on why it's under new mgmt and why they continue to say it's under new mgmt after all this time. They really make a definite point of you knowing this.

Does anybody have the scoop on this??

It is really funny bird show. You have to go see it. The birds from Aladin and the bird from the Lion King are the new management. Must see!

"Under New Management" is part of the title. Kind of like "Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Beginning".

The story line for this version of Tiki - the room has been taken over by new owners. They attempt to implement several changes. The Tiki gods become angry. The new management reconsiders the changes.

The story is cute - the birds are updated, but I like the original better.

For nostalgia sake.....I miss the old one.

But, as a dad with a 4 year old DD, I certainly appreciate the new one. It is a lot of fun and definitely entertaining.

As a side note, my DD will say "Stop the music! Stop the music!" in her best Iago voice when she wants us to stop what we are doing and change to something else.

It's kinda dumb. lol And after going to Disneyland and watching the kids react to the old show, I miss it a lot.

It's kind of cute with the changes. However, the pre-show is just a screaming fight between the two birds. I don't like it, my kids wouldn't like it, and I don't think Walt would like it.

I think the idea for the change was to bring the show a little more up to date and to have something our kids could associate with. The birds Iago and ZaZu are wonderful additions to the new show. They kept enough of the old show to make it appealing to everyone. It's still as loud and annoying as ever and I LOVE IT!!!! We would never miss seeing this attraction! It was one of Walt's favorites and I am sure he would love the "new management".
