Our fabulous family vacation is over. Actually, it was over on Monday, but I'm just now recovered enough from it to post a coherent account of it. One could say I needed a vacation from my vacation.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I had a wonderful time. It's just that Disney isn't like any vacation I've taken before. Usually my vacations involve lots of lying around, doing nothing. For you DISers, this may be a "duh!" moment. Of course there's no lying around at Disney, and I didn't expect there to be. I just wasn't quite prepared for the amount of soreness inflicted on my poor, out-of-shape body or the ridiculous heat. It took a few days to adapt to the pace of Disney, and of course by the time we were okay, it was time to leave.

At any rate, my first trip to WDW taught me several valuable lessons. I'll keep you in suspense a while longer though while I introduce the cast:

Me: Crystal - thirty something, third grade teacher, mother, wife
DH: Ben - thirty, graduate student (mathematics, phD)
DD: Avery - two going on twenty, not into princesses yet, but loves MMCH
The MIL: "T" - fifty something, nurse educator, grandmother extraordinaire

For a picture of myself and DD, please see my PTR linked in my signature.

Coming up next: Twas the Night Before Disney...
