The Tale of the Grow Walk ….Hunh?

Wow...that water is really a beautiful blue. Just stunning.

More great pictures around the ship.

I can't wait to see your day at the Castaway Cay.

I love the blue water!
I will try to write some more updates this weekend so I can get back to posting more regularly....famous last words.

I love your photos from Castaway Cay. THe ship looks so empty.

Corinna

I don't think we had a full sailing either. I am getting homesick for a ship. I still don't know what our vacation plans are for this year. Skip wants to do something but not till April or May and he doesn't know what for sure either...drives me crazy.

I know no one likes Nassau, but I really hope the weather is nicer the next time I go back. It pretty much rained the whole time I was there. I do want to walk around a bit with NO rain and NO poncho.

Oh yeah, it would be yucky in the rain. Luckily it hasn't rained when I have been there.

Yay for Claire meeting a friend. Nice that you and Skip got to have dinner alone. I love your pirate picture. I could not get Denny engaged in anything remotely pirate. He never wore his costume. I don't even think we went to the party. By then I was just tired of him not playing along with the whole pirate theme considering it was so close to Thanksgiving.

What a bummer. I just made Skip that tshirt right before we left and he was ok with a shirt. I had a parrot for his shoulder but the string to tie it on with wasn't quite big enough so I wore it for a bit but it kept flopping off.

Great updates Jen.

Oh yeah - wow - there were really a lot of other boats in port that day. I think there was only one other the day we were there. I wonder how far in advance they need to figure out which ships will be there? :confused3

It was very busy boat wise. I assume they make the schedules at least 2 years out.

Cool pictures of Castaway Cay. I loved sitting on the verandah and watching us dock. That island was so amazing. :thumbsup2

It is a very nice island. I want to be there NOW!

Pulling into Castaway Cay is one of my favorites things ever!

Jill in CO

I love watching us pull in too! :goodvibes

Your pictures are getting me so excited! I can not wait to be on that island! :beach:

Soon....very soon!!! You lucky bugger! have a good flight tomorrow!

I'm really looking forward to your Castaway Cay photos, we haven't been there on our past two Disney cruises but will be at the end of this year!!!

Your so lucky. I really need to get away...trying to be patient but it's hard.

Again I went to check on the family. Skip had no desire to get moving and Claire was a rag doll and too tired. I told Skip I was not waiting around all day long while they slept and I told him I was heading off to the island to take some pictures while they slept a bit longer and he was fine with that.

I did a pano with my phone and it gave it this curve which was kind of interesting.

There goes Pluto and Minnie to their character spots.

Olaf had made it to the island!

Hi Donald!

Going for a sort of artsy shot.

Because of the choppy water a few things already had been canceled.

Beautiful photos from Castaway Cay. I am in the same boat as you. I have no concrete vacation plans at present. May is the earliest and that is what I am hoping for, but it may be later than that.

Corinna

And there she goes with another few updates! ;) :thumbsup2

Great to hear that the captain was able to dock at CC. It is horrible if they try and then have to leave again. We had Captain Gus try for 3 - yes, THREE hours until he was able to get us in. Only time we were allowed to get off the ship without having to sign off! :yay: And he even gave us two more hours there, to make up for the delay.

You got some GREAT shots of the ship! The only issue I have is that ducktail they added - so ugly. But I love all the pictures of Goofy at the back of the ship - I think we did not take a single one of him on our last trip - I have to check.

Skip and Claire slept in???? :scared1: Oh, well, gave you time to explore and enjoy on your own ....... and take all those great photos for us here at home. :goodvibes

Hmmmmm Dis is totally different now. Anyone know how to multi quote? I am not sure I am liking the new set up.

My one regret about our Disney cruise was that it did not go to Castaway. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

That is a bummer...you did a Galveston one right?

I am thinking may at the earliest for use right now too. it is going to depend on my husband...and we know he is a feet dragger.

I was so glad we were able to get docked...and i thought of you and how it took several hours to get docked one time.

those lazy bums. But Claire had been going strong for over a week.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the new format either, although I did notice that there is now a "Like" button!! :yay:

Nice update and pics, Glad you were able to dock there. I really want to go on a DCL cruise and the biggest reason for me is Castaway Cay. I would love to get to see it someday.

I am still fumbling around on here. I see they added a plus quote button, but I clicked it and it does nothing. I've been to the tech board a lot and they are not helpful at all.
I read there is a 20 picture limit in posts now too, which is a pain since I have prewritten in word some updates that have 20-25 pictures in them.

Castaway Cay is really nice.

Yes, it was Galveston.

thats what I thought

So I am going to try to do an update...let's see how this goes. I have read that they only have a 20 picture limit now and I have some pre-written to include close to 25 pictures, so if they don't all fit, then you may see a second post with just 2 or 3 pictures....And not liking to have to hunt for smilies either :scared:

My whole goal for now was just to take a bunch of pictures.

It was nice because I didn’t have any family members pulling me onward towards the beach.

And I found where Minnie ended up.

I decided to stop and get a picture since there wasn’t a wait.

Minnie kept pointing at the sand and I finally realized what she was pointing at and she wanted me to take a picture….so I did.

Isn’t this bench so cool looking?

I knew my battery was low in my camera so I grabbed a replacement when I headed off the island. I soon had to change the batteries and the battery I grabbed wasn’t fully charged. Of course the time I want to take a lot of pictures I had low battery power. I really tried to save it as much as I could and still tried to take as many pictures as I could as well. I also used my phone for pictures.

And a visit to the bathroom.

Now you may remember that I have a running joke with some co-workers about free feminine products. When we see them we take a picture or at least report it to each other. There is more to the joke than I can explain publicly but we always have a good laugh over it…so I had to take this next picture.

They weren’t free here, but you could go to the Bahamian Rental and ask for them…..which made me wonder why they weren’t free here as the island is cashless.

Mini golf.

And more activities.

I love all the photos again. Thanks for the heads up about the new restriction. I am about to post my next instalment of my trip report. This will be very light on photos, but the next one will not be. That mini golf must be newish. I cannot see having ever seen this before.

Corinna

Again, you got great photos of CC. And I have to admit that we have never seen the mini golf course - is that a new addition?

Once you have selected the posts that you want to quote with the +Quote button, you should get a button in the reply field that says Insert Quotes. With that you can then add the preselected posts.

Hope this helps!

I love all the Castaway Cay pictures, but I can see how windy it was. Certainly not the best day for lounging at the beach!

Great updates! I thought I posted last time, but the DIS was being uncooperative, so who knows where it went!

Claire is really looking like her dad! WOW!

Love the Nassau pics - it looks as if you finally got a great one of the lighthouse, LOL! Good for Claire for trying something new.

Jen - have you ever tried the patches for motion sickness? DH gets really sick, and had his DR. prescribe them for him. they work out great!

Do you like the shorter cruises? DH said we had to do a 7 day one again, so as to cause me to relax enough - I'm too OCD planner for him otherwise!

Thanks for working hard to keep posting with the changes here to the DIS. Love your photos! Castaway Cay looks so empty in all of them. The last 3 stops I've made there were on the Fantasy so even first thing off the boat it is getting crowded. I will REALLY miss CC on my PC cruise. I've never been on a Disney cruise that hasn't stopped there, I even took two that stopped twice.

Wow...such great, vibrant pictures on Castaway Cay, Jen. I wish I could go there without going on a cruise.

Cute picture of you with Minnie Mouse.

Well they changed it back to 25. I guess enough people complained.

I am not sure. I would have to go look at my old pictures to see if it was there before or not. LOL.

It was windy but then it did keep it from being so sweltering hot too.

Great updates! I thought I posted last time, but the DIS was being uncooperative, so who knows where it went!

I have had a few posts of replies to people where I have had to hit it like 3 times to make it go through.

Claire is really looking like her dad! WOW!

She is...it's scary.

We had a fun time, even though the weather wasn't ideal

Jen - have you ever tried the patches for motion sickness? DH gets really sick, and had his DR. prescribe them for him. they work out great!

I have not. I have had family members that have though. From what I have been told you can't drink with them on...and not that I drink much but I don't want to take that chance. And I think it would drive me batty. I have issues where bandaids even. my skin doesn't like adhesives.

Do you like the shorter cruises? DH said we had to do a 7 day one again, so as to cause me to relax enough - I'm too OCD planner for him otherwise!

I much prefer longer ones, but time wise we often can only take the short ones, especially if we want to work WDW in there too. Skip would also probably never go for a long one as being out of touch from home is really hard for him....or should I say his brother....who can't seem to do a thing without Skip telling him.

It's been crazy here and it will take some getting used to. I am not a fan at all of this format. I have used it on other boards and pretty much stopped posting because it was such a pain.

Cute picture of you with Minnie Mouse.

I just bet if you took a cruise you would like it. :fish:
